> What is the token?

The token KNS is similar to ETH for the network acting as:
- slashable staking for validators to ensure good behavior, encourage consensus and ensure buy-in from validators
- as "gas" fees for processing transactions
- as payment for access to the network for non-blockchain businesses/clients
- as a reward for staking to encourage locking up of the token for non-validator nodes

Some noteworthy existing clients include:

> Buybacks:

Because Timeleap SA has multiple revenue streams from non-blockchain projects (BaaS, HSM, custom dev work etc.) the team has proposed ongoing buybacks that will ensure that company revenue is added on-chain as buying pressure for the token.
Compared to other projects in a similar space that generate millions of off-chain revenue that is fed directly to VCs and founders while they dump tokens on holders, this approach to buybacks ensures that the benefits of being a token holder increase along with company revenue.

> DAO-like setup:

Timeleap have already integrated TEPs which are a similar concept to EIPs as used by Ethereum and other networks.
This allows for proposals, decisions and changes to network structure to be voted on by the community, with a future goal of being completely decentralised and self-managed.
Whilst all members of the community can make proposals, voting rights are given 1:1 with token holdings, meaning that larger holders will control the future around buybacks, revenue shares, network consensus metrics and other core variables.

> Roadmap:

- Currently the team is fully focused on releasing the mainnet of Unchained. A testnet validator client is available via the TG group and is fairly simple to setup and trial for yourself.
- Most of the clients are currently on a private version of Unchained, and are due to be migrated across to the public one shortly.
- SDK is coming for Go, Node and Python in early January allowing developers to start migrating their tech stacks over from existing networks.
