There's nothing about vore that requires that the victim doesn't fight back. Obviously, they have to lose, because otherwise they don't get eaten. But it's fucking dumb as hell that 90% of vore stories are written like:

Seriously, it's the worst way to write it. You can have them fight back or be really scared. You can make it so that being eaten does not kill them, making it reasonable that they would not be that scared. You can provide some kind of explanation for why they're willing to just take it(hypnosis, religious sacrifice, etc.). There's loads of ways to do it and the "welp, guess I'm getting eaten" way is the worst one.
Like, who is this for? Whose fetish is specifically people dying horribly but not really caring about it? If you were a sadist you'd want them to scream and cry, if you were less of a sick fuck you'd want them to live. Who perfectly straddles the line of "well I want them to die, but I don't want to feel bad about it" ?
