This is wrong and Retro Studios headcanon.

Ex-Retro devs are dumb, they keep peddling bullshit. It's clear the reason why they rejected it is because it was not a good gameplay hook and it would have made Samus look too greedy for the brand (the retards compared her to Boba Fett who is a bad guy, despite Samus being caring and motherly). You can think this is a dumb reason to reject the idea, I don't completely disagree, but anyone who thinks Nintendo "doesn't know" or Japan "doesn't know" about Bounty Hunting, despite their constant portrayal of it in their media (like old anime) are retarded
