>What this is:
Shanghai.EXE was a Touhou-themed Megaman Battle Network clone.
Then the original developer got a C&D from Capcom and shut everything down, just before it was completed.
This is a modified/translated version of that demo build, implementing the end of the game following teased content, as well as various QoL changes and bugfixes.

>State of the project:
Unfortunately I should be realistic here: There's been no progress. I've got my notes, I make sure on every PC upgrade that I've got the source code set up and everything still compiles and runs, then it just sits there. No excuses, I just keep doing other things instead of working on it. Sorry.
At this point there's not really much point continuing to make Cancelversary threads, I kept hoping I'd just pick things back up and have something to show but that never happened. Three years in a row seems to be a good cutoff, so this is the last yearly thread I'll be making, I'd just be repeating 'didn't get shit done' year after year. It was a good time while I was actually getting things done, but there's no point dragging things on.

Of course, the source code is still where it's always been, and permission from me means less than nothing. Do whatever.
