Previous:>>123443587Do you guys think your own stuff sounds just "weirdly" worse than other music you listen to, production-wise?>>123497885
Nah it’s mostly that my compositions are worse and there’s clearly less work put into all the details and automation.
Wouldn’t call it weird, it’s a pretty explainable gap in quality>>123497885
I'm one guy in a bedroom with minimal equipment, it'd be more weird if I made anything comparable to professional music.>>123498217
Excuses>>123498559
Only a deluded fool would think they can do it all by themselves>>123498654
There are like a billion examples of people making high quality music completely alone, and 10 times that number if you count the stuff that's well written but just mixed bad and is still enjoyed by tons of people.
Unironically cope>>123498654
yeah cope unfortunately, there are more people making professional sounding music in their bedrooms than ever before>>123498676

>a billion examples of people making high quality music completely alone
Name ten.
I can think of maybe 3, and one of those barely counts. When I say "all by themselves", I mean they are the sole individual behind the songwriting, recording, producing, mixing, mastering, and promotion of their music.>>123496618
lmaoing at this larp and justification for pirating shit. $1000 of midi controllers, really?>>123498715
look up prices of faderfox or anything with motorized faders, midifighter twister or anything with endless encoders, then you should have at least one keyboard with fullsize keys and one with mini keys>>123498702
>promotion
>mastering
promotion has nothing to do with the quality and mastering is 1% of the final product, you're either retarded or intentionally moving the goal post

I'm not going to sit here and double check every fucking credit for the examples that come to mind just so you don't shoot it down, but you seriously need to listen to more music if you have trouble believing this.

Why wouldn't promotion or mastering count? The point of this discussion was whether one person can hypothetically do it all themselves.

Even if you omit self-promotion, I can barely think of anyone that does the writing/recording/procuding/mixing solo without some collaboration along the way - such as session musicians, or hiring/commissioning a mix engineer, or a ghost writer, etc.. I want you to actually look into the names that pop into your head for people you suspect have done it all themselves, you'll soon realize that even solo artists collaborate constantly. Even some of the best artists in the world have made absolute tripe when left truly alone without their usual studio collaborators.
