Hand animated music video for Xenia. This took so much time, but it's so worth it.

This is my first time animating something this long, I've only done short loops before. It's a little janky here and there but, hey! It helps with the early internet animation style doesn't it?

Music by myself, 6th track from my Baby Trans Album

Xenia is CC0, original design by Alan Mackey.

Used parts seller in scene 2 : NIKKI_ @wuffcore.bsky.social (I thought her character's design fit the function very well).

Other characters depicted: Tux, Kiki, the C programming language, Rust crab, Bash logo, a Thinkpad.

Lyrics:

I'm in love with a girl and her name's Xenia

She brought me back from the dead: tech taxidermy-ah

Oh Xenia

She tuxed me hard with her Ventoy

Pushed my buttons all night

Now she opens me up all the time

She leaves me no respite

Never lets me overheat

Though she keeps me nice and warm

Makin' me work all night long

As she writes in long free-form

She's a witch I swear she speaks in tongues I can't understand

But she always finds a way to talk to me when she has me in her hands

That's why..

I'm in love with that girl and her name's Xenia

She brought me back from the dead: tech taxidermy-ah

Oh Xenia

Always keeps a finger on my trackpoint

She knows how to use it

In her bed when she needs a VI fix

She knows where to find it

She plays dress up with me

Riced me to the Intel Core

And when I behave she says 'Good girl!'

And I can't lie no more

I've always been Mr Thinkpad but never been myself

And when I look in my manual well I can't find a ref

That's when she said.. Don't bash yourself babe

Break out of your shell

Mr Thinkpad never was

You know it deep inside very well

gender is a struct {}; don't you know?

The members you declare!

So let sister Xenia show you the way

Give you something nice to wear

That's Why..

I'm in love with that girl and her name's Xenia

She brought me back from the dead: tech taxidermy-ah

Oh Xenia, Xenia, Xenia ah ah ah

Xenia, Xenia, Xenia ah ah ah

Music made in Ardour on Linux, recorded on a thinkpad. Animated in Krita, on a Linux desktop. Edited using kdenlive (my GPU is too weak for Resolve). Switch to linux or Xenia will do it for ya.
