The Battle of the Bulge was the last major offensive by the Germans during WW2, where they attempted to break through the Allied lines to force them into signing a treaty in the Axis Power's favor. The battle started on December 16th, 1944 and while the Germans were able to force the Americans to retreat, they would later suffer from supply shortages and a heavy losses, allowing the Americans to launch a counteroffensive. The battle would end on January 28th, 1945, with an Allied victory.
