Okay, so this is the unfinished Halloween-themed sequel to a shitpost "indie pilot" I did called Dogs Who Think. I had the idea about a week before Halloween and thought that if I drew really fast and sloppy, I could get it done by the 31st. However, even at my fastest and sloppiest, this was the most I could manage. I had most of the episode figured out in my head; it would have probably come to about 11 minutes long.
Even in this unfinished state, a lot of people said it was really funny, which makes me feel good. Frankly, it also pisses me off. Why the fuck can't I just do this all the time? It feels like my brain is only good at episode plotting if it's for a semi-ironic project like this one. Seriously, I had the entirety of this Halloween special figured out, but I can't get the pilot plot to the cartoon series I've had in my head for years down. I think I just end up babying serious ideas too much, which means stuff like this is able to thrive more than anything else I could make cause I'm not precious about these characters or their world. As funny as it sounds, this unfinished half-shitpost and it's positive reception really inspires me to want to do more animatics for my more serious ideas, still caring to make a good final product but not handling everything with kiddy gloves, so to speak.
Anyway watch the dogs bye
