I spent my childhood on newgrounds.com, and then it just kind of stopped. I wanted to make something with the same energy and feeling I had when I played (and watched) those old stickman flash games.
My sort of elevator pitch spiel is:
The entertainment industry keeps mining the past. Between remasters, remakes, and reboots, nostalgia is one of its richest resources. Danger Sticks goes after a different kind of memory: the flash-era stickman animations many of us grew up watching online, reimagined as a hyper-fast first-person shooter.
Players literally smoke “Nostalgia” to slow time, then tear through short handcrafted encounters built around instant restarts, score chasing, and cleaner, faster runs. Think Hotline Miami and SUPERHOT with flash-era internet energy.
