Today is a very special day, because it is officially the 20th anniversary of the release of Super Mario Bros. Z! Even to this day, this little sprite animation series holds a very special place in my heart, inspiring me to do what I’m best known for with my own sprite animations!

And to celebrate this special occasion, I made my own “retake” of yet another iconic fight scene from that series, being “Mario and Sonic VS Mecha Sonic” from SMBZ Episode 7!

I had just as much fun with making this as I did with Semi-Super Metallix VS Axem Rangers X back in 2024, so I hope you all enjoy this new revamped take on Ep. 7’s fight scene, too, and I think it would be incredible if Mark Haynes himself saw this, so please share this video around and give it the attention I think it deserves, same for Mark’s series, too, whenever Episode 3 of his reboot comes out (but I can wait for that day to come one day haha)
