On June 16th, 2022 I was hired to make some animations for Dreamsettler. It was to be the sequel to the acclaimed Hypnospace Outlaw, a game taking place in a fictional version of the internet in a universe slightly different from our own, but was unfortunately canceled in 2025. Though the game never saw the light of day, I at least have the opportunity to share some of the stuff I put together for the project.

Dreamsettler was to feature its own version of Flash, known as "Oomph", along with several cartoons made with this fictional software. This is a compilation of all the completed "oomphs" I made for Dreamsettler, along with a small handful of not-so-completed works. They are meant to capture the look and feel of early-to-mid 2000's flash animation with all their charming flaws... but maybe not so much the crude crassness. It was supposed to be a family-friendly product, you know!

Most of the things that look bad were made that way on purpose, except for the ones that weren't. Can YOU tell which is which?

(Ruffle emulation makes the buttons on the menu flicker when clicked. I don't know why it does that or how to fix it, it looks fine in the actual flash file. That's what I get for using decades-old software for the sake of authenticity!)
