Description
Small experimental animation project I did for a class Spring 2025. You may recognize it's characters from Screwypilled Tooncels as at this point in time a lot of ideas for that series were starting to come together. I was working on test animation and writing Rick's Demon Dilemma so River, Styx and Lavathorn appearing here was my way of previewing them to people. Likewise, you can see a Hellhound from Hellhounds, and Fuzzy and Fluffy from Fuzzy and Fluffy, who first appeared in a 3D animation project. You can tell I was really starting to plant the seeds for my future work here.
This was actually a part of a VR installation where people could watch it in a virtual world and it was projected up drive-in style. My professor was kind of a zealot for all this dumb techy gimmick stuff that I can't even begin to understand I just wanted to make silly cartoons. My pitch for this was Roger Rabbit meets FNAF. It's actually called Liminal Locust, in reference to the name of the warehouse the final exhibition took place(some of the photos here are even from the warehouse) but obviously that doesn't make too much sense out of the building. And let me tell you, that night was PAINFUL. They focused on our VR work for like 30 minutes max and the rest of the night was devoted to listening to these awful ''experimental'' musicians who were just screeching and playing noise from a box, I was laughing so hard and holding onto my friend for dear life.
