If you couldn't tell this animation was inspired by Terry Gillam and his animations in Monty Python's Flying Circus.
The base of the characters are Vanity Fair Illustrations. The OG images of Zach and Tomar are illustrations by Carlo Pellegrini circa 1870-ish. Chris is a caricature of Edmund Barton (1902), and Lyle is an illustration of C.M. Pitman (1895), by Sir Leslie Matthew Ward.
