Through the IceE

It was the treasure he sought

He continued no matter what they thought

They told him it wasn’t real

There was no treasure to steal

He knew only success would change their mind

To show them his find

So he searched through the ice and frost

Through ruins long lost

Following every clue and trail

Heedless of the danger that might prevail

But with each step he took in the cold

Countless more showed up in the ruins of old

But he wouldn’t give up or give in

He couldn’t listen to the naysayer’s din

But if only he knew

What the others said was true

No treasure was hidden in the snow

For the rest of his days he would go

And search without end without rest

Far away from those who knew best
