Gonna need a 1-up for that one...

The scene was a nightmare to color, but a blast to animate! I started on December 11th, 2024, and finished it on August 22, 2025! The wonderful backgrounds only took me only a day and a half to finish.

For this particular scene, I chose to replicate the art style of Nintendo's concept art and a fusion on how they looked in the movie! I thought it would've been cool at the time, but the coloring was a little too much to handle. For that, I did simplify the coloring just a little to make it a bit easier for me. Particularly on Peach since I knew that it would've been incredibly time-consuming drawing her and her crown.

Since we're allowed to work on only 2 scenes from the movie, I'm gonna animate the next, albeit longer scene in a different style.

Fun fact #1: I didn't know what I was gonna animate at first since I straight up chose my scenes blind because of their numbers. In this instance, this one is scene 261. Veterans of the channel will understand the reference. :)

Fun fact #2: These two particularly interesting Toad are the exact same toads doing the same action in the movie around this time of the movie. It's a "blink, and you'll miss it," joke by Illumination, but it happens on the far left side of the screen. By the way, there's another familiar character in that photo. See if you can spot 'em!
