[Teaser] Madness Onslaught (Part Two)

This example shows the use of Pixel Bender to dither an image in Flash.

Abstract:Adobe Pixel Bender was created by Adobe Systems and released in 2008. It was initially added to Adobe Flash Player 10, which was the first version to support Pixel Bender-powered filters and effects. However Adobe began to shift its focus towards other technologies and deprecated Pixel Bender in favor of move time and effort into the Stage3D and AGAL. The specific date of obsolescence may vary based on Adobe's updates and announcements, but generally, it fell out of active use in the mid-2010s. I do recall working with pixel bender kernels a little bit, Away3D made really good use of them before Stage3D and other Flash Player 11 commodities were added. A friend of mine would use the kernel for large data processing since the filters and sharers would run asynchronously, with the proof of concept resembling OpenCL usages. NOTE: I could not get Adobe Pixel Bender Toolkit running in Windows 10 or 11, I had to use VirtualBox to emulate Windows 7. Controls:

None

Bugs:

Hey there! Time for a new gender-bender animation. Once again, it's in POV perspective (first-person perspective), but now it is in POV perspective as in its projection on a spherical mask, making it also suitable for VR!Sadly I have to put that behind the paywall for 10 dollar patrons (Patreon), but you can see its effects also here because the image is getting stretched in certain places, sometimes making one vanishing point or two or even three.I might release the VR version also into the public after a couple of months after the initial video has been releasedI don't have much to add for this one.I initially wanted only Kevin/Kevine to be featured in this, but I like gender transformations with more than one person. Preferably a friend ;) Even though it adds almost double the workload, haha. So I added Paul/Pauline in.Shout out to the wonderful people who voiced in this project!Kevin/Kevine byJustTheLetterV (wonderful trans woman who can voice both male and female versions of Kevin)Paul by VinleyDoesVA(Perfectly voice the scoundrel Paul)Pauline / Girls behind the door by Anqeldqisy(Really liked her stressed voice of Pauline and the giggly voices of the other girls)SFX pack used from HentAudio(Such juicy sounds XDXD)Script editing by PunchlinePress(making sure my bad grammar doesn't shine through the voices, she is an amazing writer)

[OC] Dear Diary

Mayumi is a quiet girl that's rather lonely...until Lillie appears.

Cast--------Lillie - Maganda Marie Yumi - Janey Gemmell Music and SFX------------------------Epidemic Sound Ending theme - "In Vain" by Romaro feat. Mia Niles Assorted backgrounds-------------------------------------fluffness Text Box--------------Lalá draws Here we are with Episode 4! Just like how Episode 3 was the last entry to use VN narration segments, Episode 4 is the last to feature the traditional Visual Novel style with static sprites and backgrounds. This episode was the first to feature animation for the show upon its initial release as well. Now the characters can blink, breathe, move, and do creepy head turns when they get into a mood. I remember when I first discovered how to make the animations. Maganda (Lillie) and I were speaking together with Janey (Yumi) about working on future episodes. Maganda and I were getting a little concerned about the static VN appearance, so I mentioned that there was indeed animation within the character studio to experiment with. With it, we could alter character poses a little bit better, add body movement, and even mouth flaps for dialogue. Within a week of playing around with the studio -- and making Lillie do a couple of martial arts moves -- I was able to make simple animations for our pivotal scenes of Lillie's monologue, Yumi's dress up scene, and the final scene with Lillie reminiscing about her day. It was a pretty good first step that got us to Episode 5 and onwards. It's a little rough looking back, but it was the start of something very promising. Thanks to experimenting, the entire look of the show changed and a world of possibilities opened up. This is one of my favorite episodes for that reason as well as for the story presented. Yumi is such a dynamic character and she's the key to the very small transformation that started in Lillie's heart. We'll definitely see more of her as the series progresses and I sincerely hope you look forward to it. She has a special episode down the line, now that we're talking about it~. Thank you very much for watching and I hope you enjoy this latest episode to hit Newgrounds! See you next week for Episode 5!

The Forest Guardian: An Animation Test

The villainous Dr. Robotnik confronts Sonic about his frustrations.

v1.0 — Initial release. Used chroma key to separate animation from backgrounds.v.1.1 — Used alpha channel instead of chroma key. Green line art artifacts removed.v1.2 — Added SWF version. Fixed minor color mistakes for SWF version only. COMMENTARYI started this project thinking, “Oh, yeah, I know exactly how to draw AoStH Robotnik; I don’t need to use reference!” And then every frame looked like shit. So, I went online and referred to the show itself and these two pieces of concept art by character designer Milton Knight. A good lesson in humility. I accomplished a good chunk of animation on a livestream, but the stream was struck down because I played episodes of Adventures of Sonic for my friends to watch thinking nothing would come of it. Maybe I should stream on Twitch or Picarto, accounts where I don’t really care whether they live or die. It’s a darn shame because that stream was a lot of fun! DoodleDemon and I started calling each other “blithering buckets of bolts” and watched Robotnik do a Nazi salute and that was absolutely hilarious. The show itself is a lot of fun. It’s stupid fun. Every moment Robotnik is on screen is a good time. Scratch and Grounder are great, as well. The team that worked on it—including Milton Knight, the voice actor Long John Baldry (1940–2005 R.I.P.), and the storyboard artists (including Scott Shaw! From the early Archie Sonic comics)—did a fantastic job given the limitations they worked with. Overall, I definitely prefer SatAM over AoStH, but they are both very different genres of animation. While I was working on this project, Milton Knight leaked on Facebook that Diskotech would be doing an Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog complete series release on Blu-ray and that it would contain new interviews with him. I had hoped that the release would be in HD given that it is Blu-ray and not DVD, but it was very unlikely whoever owned the rights to the show kept the film masters and only kept the master tapes, which inherently have a lower resolution. Later that year, Diskotech officially announced the complete series on Twitter. I am absolutely going to pre-order it. It comes out February 2022. If they ever release the SatAM complete series on Blu-ray (in full HD, knock on wood), I will die a happy man. Now that I think about it, I’m known by all my friends for being a huge Sonic fan, so it’s weird that it took until now for me to make a proper Sonic cartoon. This project started as a gift for MatterBoar. I felt bad that the previous animation I made for him was released in November 2020, 13 months ago, and I hadn’t made any new ones in that time. So I secretly started this one and originally intended to give it to him for free. He asked me if I was available for new animation work and I told him about this side project and he said he’d buy it! The deadline was Christmas Day. The night before, I promised myself I would work on this cartoon until it is 100% ready to release. I thought it would take maybe three hours. It ended up taking 22 hours straight. I only took three hour-long breaks to rest my hands and get a half-hour of sleep. A single cup of hot chocolate coffee got me through it! The thing that took the longest in this particular long stretch was the shot of Robotnik running in place. That took forever! I probably could have done this quicker, but I wanted to make sure each and every frame was cleaned up. I do not envy the animators of the original show. Despite how simple Robotnik’s character design looks, animating him takes a long time, especially compared to Sonic. Robotnik’s mustache and yellow jumpsuit straps in particular were very troublesome, as well as layering the different body parts. The most frustrating thing with Sonic was doing his baby blue highlights. Thankfully, Sonic hardly moves in this cartoon. (That’s kinda uncharacteristic of Sonic, but hey I’m not complaining!) I wanted to add some traditional paint-like motion blur to some of the snappier movements, but due to the deadline—and me just wanting to move on to something new—I could not do it in time. The tight shot of Robotnik’s face at the end was also supposed to be painterly, similar to the gross-out shots in SpongeBob and Ren and Stimpy, but after I took a crack at it in Clip Studio Paint, I couldn’t do it. Also, I felt that a rendered painting of a character wouldn’t fit a parody that tried to match the art style of the original show. Pre-production began in August 2021 and post-production ended on Saturday, December 25th. Normally, a 26-second-long cartoon wouldn’t take that long, but due to a myriad of continuous financial problems and setbacks, it took four months to complete. It probably would have had a better start if I had started by making storyboards. I run-and-gunned this whole cartoon and I definitely regret it. I ended up making last-minute changes to the character poses, facial expressions, etc., which isn’t something you really want to be doing a lot with deadlines involved. You want to make confident decisions in the beginning so that the changes later on will hopefully be few in number. Ordinarily, I would not do this slapdash approach with a commission. But this started out as a gift and turned into a commission later. Regardless, even quick, shoddy storyboards would have gone a long way! Lesson learned. Originally, I was going to commission my friend Dyoudi Mitimasa (@epicfunnyhahajokelol) do the background art. He is a natural at this kind of sharp, abstract art style. However, I did not have the money to commission an artist, especially at the time. So instead, I leave you with a huge recommendation to go check out Dyoudi’s art! He’s a wonderful artist and a wonderful person! Additionally, Milton Knight is still an active artist and has a Patreon! Go support him, too! I made this background art by referencing two screenshots from the show, shown in the timelapse video. At first, I was very happy with this art, especially since it was my first real attempt at abstract art. The reference really helped! But once I put it in the cartoon, something was wrong. Robotnik’s design is mostly warm colors. The background is mostly warm colors. I feel this leads to a lot of Robotnik’s movements being less readable than they should. Sonic is fine since he’s blue, orange’s complement. If I had to do the background art again, I would divide the composition into two sections: a cool section for Robotnik and a warm section for Sonic. CLIENTMatterBoar ANIMATION / BACKGROUND ART / EDITINGAlexander Emenheiser @ade-syndicate BACKGROUND MUSICDr. Robotnik's ThemeComposed by Reed Robbins and Mark SimonCover by Turret 3471 Main Title ThemeComposed by Clark GassmanIncludes motifs fromSonic 2 Title Theme and Emerald Hill Zone composed by Masato Nakamura,In the Hall of the Mountain King composed by Edvard Grieg, and Flight of the Bumblebee composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov AUDIO TAKEN FROMOneyPlays Sonic Robo Blast 2 - FINALEwith @Oney, Ding Dong, and JulianEdited by Dex the Swede FONTSPedro SPECIAL THANKS AND PATREON SUPPORTERSAnimation stream viewers, including DoodleDemon, for keeping me companyMilton Knight for being nice when I talked to him :)@SuprDee2 for being supportiveand giving me a new version of Toon BoomDyoudi Mitimasa @epicfunnyhahajokelol PATREON & KO-FI SUPPORTERSAleahAshleyFroggyDuwudeViktor Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog © SEGA, DIC Entertainment 1993 P.S. — I’m working on a new project right now! Sonic Legacy: Issue 3 Dub

My first attempt at voice acting & sound design (v2)

UPDATE 9-16-2021: I re-edited the video and re-recorded the lines I wasn't satisfied with. I also touched up all the sound effects. Overall, I'm proud of how much I managed to improve this video when compared to the original version I posted. You can read some of my comments about the changes below This is my fan dub of the first half of the Hazbin Hotel comic, Chapter 1: Dirty Healings. Ever since I first saw the pilot for Hazbin Hotel back in 2019, it inspired me to pursue a hobby in voice acting and I feel like this is my first step towards to more exciting things down the road! This is my first real attempt at voice acting and sound design and I'm so proud of how well this came out and I hope you guys all enjoy it too! Being my first real voice acting/dubbing project, I put way more work/research into this that I probably should so I wanted to leave some design notes below in case anyone actually reads the video description. The voice I came up with for the Shark Boss was inspired by, Red, the gritty voiced bartender of the Tube Bar in 1970s Jersey City, NJ known from the infamous Jerky Boys Prank Call Tapes. As for the word the Shark Boss was going to call Angel, considering the implied Italian background of all the characters in the deal scene, I had him say the Italian-American slang for the slur (fanook) but, you can kind of hear it under all the gunshots. One last bit of trivia I wanted to share though was that Angel's arc in the comic is actually very similar to Steve Buscemi's character arc in Sopranos considering Angel's character was imagined as being voiced by Buscemi back in 2015.This scene covers basically the same thing Angel did: HERE Notes (9-16-2021)The art in the beginning of the video is a composite image I made for fun. I actually made it using a screenshot from BioShock as the foundation. It honestly came out better than I expected! In regards to the sound design, most of the sound effects from the previous version are similar to how they were before but, with some noteworthy changes (that I'm probably the only one that would care about ;w;).For example, I included city ambience for the scenes set outdoors and engine sounds for the scenes set in Valentino's car (and when it stops too). In the beginning of Angel's first monologue, I included blinking and oogling sounds for the sharks eyeing his business because, later in the scene, its implied that the sharks were actually distracted by the fact that he was actually wearing mini shorts (which I feel a lot of people tend to forget). And considering the sharks aren't familiar with him, it would make sense that they would be studying him. I also included more banter and chuckling sounds for the sharks to make the meeting room sound more 'populated' (if that makes sense). In the old version, there was just laughing at the shark bosses remarks before the action scene but, I thought adding some at the initial stickup scene would liven them up a bit more so it didn't just feel like there was verbally just two characters in the scene. The sound effects for when Angel is twirling and aiming his piece were all home-made samples I recorded with my Gohner P08 Luger replica. I thought it would make the scene immersive with some realistic weapon sounds aside from the Thompson, Greaser, AK, and generic pistol sounds I included before. I actually spent a few hours trying to time the pistol clicking sounds to be in sync for when Angel's twirling, aiming, and shoving his piece at the boss's head. There were actually 3 versions of the take: one where there's just a click when its pointed at the boss (when he says "So!") and one where there's a generic cartoon poking sound at the head and then a click when he asks the boss the question. And the final version in the video where you can hear the slap of Angel's glove on the boss's head, the piece rattling on contact with the shark's head, and then a nice detail I added where you can hear Angel taking the safety off his piece when he starts teasing the boss. I also added more sound for when the shark boss is being cornered using a combination of samples from Ed, Edd, n Eddy including a heavily edited sample of Eddy groaning slowed and pitched down and stock dog whimpering pitched down to match the shark boss's vocal range. I mentioned this in the original video but, the tune Angel is humming is "Bei mir bist du schön" by the Andrew Sisters from 1937. To keep in the theme of Angel's background, he would have been in his teens when the song went big. The version he's humming is the concert version from the BioShock 2 iTunes OST. Originally, I wanted him to hum "Ma Come Bali" by Dean Martin but that was released about 4 years after his death. The music used in the shark scene was "Sunk" from BioShock Infinite Burial at Sea and the track used for the Valentino scene was "Lutece" also from BioShock Infinite. The Shark lines were something that bothered me for a while so I re-recorded some of them to make them sound less monotone. The same goes for Valentino's lines. I actually really love voicing Angel Dust and hope I can do more fan dub stuff involving him in the future! I would even love to do collabs if that's possible! I'm just so happy that Hazbin Hotel helped motivate me to take the step forward in my dream of being a voice actor (even if I am still an amateur)! You can also watch the video on YouTube. With all that said, I hope you guys enjoyed my notes.YouTubeTwitchDiscordTwitter Hazbin Hotel and all its characters belong to Vivziepop (Vivienne Medrano) and SpindleHorse.
