Conquer the Foe To all those whose truth has been silenced or forgotten.— RKS _______FOREWORD:Conquer the Foe is Roadkill Studios first ever short film. It is a hand-drawn anti-incidentalist film which pays homage to classic point-and-click Flash game culture. The film began development in March 2025, and was composed, illustrated, edited, written, and published by one amateur artist. All music and artwork was created by me, although some characters and visual elements are deliberate homages to, adaptations of, or parodies of works that influenced the film. At the centre of the film is the film theory principle of anti-incidentalism. The notion that every visible character in a film must have a defined history and identity, irrespective of whether that history is immediately apparent to the viewer. The film is therefore intended to be experienced not merely as a graphic chase scene, but as insight into fragments of a larger world beyond what the viewer sees on screen. The need for a film like this is to fulfil the duty of laying the groundwork for a comprehensive anti-incidentalist narrative long term. In some respect, the "art" of anti-incidentalism is to attempt to prepare for questions that will be asked in the future. The film was created both as an exploration of this principle and as a personal homage to the visual and artistic style of 2010s Flash games. Conquer the Foe is the first major release under Roadkill Studios, and it represents the start of a wider body of work that the studio will continue to develop over time. _______ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:Hundreds of hours were dedicated to the completion of this short film. Although entirely created by one individual, we must thank the developers whose artistic influences enabled this film to be made in the first place. We thank Chriss Martin, Yan Lepage, Mario Boutin, Jo Fortier and Josee Godbout for Desolation: The Stages of Anxiety. Their work on this project is noted for the prominent grim-minimalist art style and inspiration for many character designs in the film. Stage 1 was constructed as a tribute to Desolation.Credit: https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7 We thank Hyptosis for The Sagittarian and for his excellent hand-drawn style, which inspired the horde/chase elements of the film and several character designs, particularly in Stage 2.Credit: https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/ We thank Mateusz Skutnik for Submachine, and for over 20 years of consistent artistic output and contribution to the point-and-click genre, the influence of which cannot go unnoticed for this film.Credit: https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/ We thank Patrick Majewski for Monster Basement and its sequel. These games established an artistic vision that largely inspired Stage 2. We also thank Patrick Majewski for permission to include The Mud Vile from Monster Basement as part of this film.Credit: https://godlimations.newgrounds.com/ We thank Igor Stravinsky for The Rite of Spring. A composition that completely redefined modern music and paved the way for many of the film soundtracks released in the last century. From the creator:To my mentors from the conservatory — whose names have been omitted for privacy — I thank you for your knowledge and expertise in which you shared with great generosity. The role of mentor should not be undervalued, for the role they play in forming a trainee's professional (and sometimes personal) life can be profound. Their contributions both directly and indirectly have helped shape the vision of this film and will define all future Roadkill Studios productions. I remain indebted to them for their dedication, patience, and time they commit to providing guidance and mentorship. _______Stage Descriptions:

Prelude - The point in time before any disturbance. The prelude is the calm before the storm.

Stage 1 - The first stage is the experience of a sudden distressing event; this stage is the realisation that something has gone horribly wrong as panic sets in.

Stage 2 - This is the stage where panic is quickly replaced by a state of blunt, numbing dissociation.

Stage 3 - Stage three is where the density of consciousness reaches its breaking point. Sanity is erased following a flash of light, and the incomprehensible suddenly becomes known.

Stage 4 - Consciousness returns hours later; the embers of the previous stages continue to burn as comprehension slowly reconsolidates. Episodes of delirium continue, with flashes of mnemonic rupture followed by further disorientation. The acute event is over but effects fluctuate over several hours.

Support Roadkill Studios on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial NOTICE: This film contains disturbing, graphic, and mature material. It has been years I don't play Gmod, but I saw some YouTubers making funny meme with Gmod videos just exactly SMG4 used to do. I now will make Pokemon Meme series. Pokemon: The Crazy Beginning Part 1

The 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. animated!

This animation is a sequel to my very first hand-drawn animation. This time around, I used a Huion drawing tablet instead of drawing with purely a mouse. The quality is quite a bit different . . . maybe I'll need to remake the first at some point . . . Check out the original animation here, if you haven't seen it yet: Super Mario Over the Years! 1 - Unfortunately, you'll have to watch it on YT because I didn't have a NG account back then :( Isn't it technically the 41st now of Super Mario Bros?: Lol, yes - this project is a culmination of short vids I've been putting out during the 40th anniversary across my socials, plus a bunch more! I still wanted to call this an animation for the 40th, as it's the bigger milestone year than the 41st. I also just work slowly, and had a bunch of ideas, causing the release time to continuously get pushed back. Art Direction I've had the thought for quite some time to make a more faithful animation to the Mario series to emulate and honor the stylistic choices of Yōichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. My decision on the art direction also came down to me wanting to "understand the generations of Mario” from its official art standpoint. Furthermore, I wanted to embellish some of Mario's movements, not limited to the games, to give a greater sense of action and adventure! I referenced all types of official cover art, licensed activity books, instruction manuals, classic 80s/90s commercials and other promotional material for the games and time periods. It took way more effort than my past simpler, often rough character animations - but it was totally worth it! For later games in the franchise, including games like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey Characters, I choose to fuse the official render designs with the linework used in the manual art in the earlier games. I wanted the animation to have the hand drawn feel, but still have the evolution of Mario's design aimed to hit several of the "key poses" from the Super Mario Bros official art, and “bring them to life” in the animation. In order to execute this idea, I started with several of the key frames as these key poses, with some adjustments (like eye movements, hand placements, or perspective tweaks) to flow with the animation. As far as the backgrounds go, they involve a stylistic approach to Shigehisa Nakaue's work on the fairly consistent Nintendo summer artwork. I tried to simulate this by blending some watercolor texture scans I painted with digital watercolor brushes created in Photoshop to create laying and show a brush stroke on a more rough, coarse paper. The color usage references the internal colors displayed when playing the games on their respective consoles. This challenged me when it came to using a very monochromatic color scheme in Super Mario Land's Birabuto dungeon to quite the opposite of using a wide array of color in Mario's character animation in the Super Mario Odyssey segment. Easter Eggs Woah, you actually read up to this point? Okay, well, I'll let you in on a little secret: this animation is jam packed with a ton of hidden secrets/collectables. Try to spot the following:

Bosses and/or friendly side characters from each game

References to different Nintendo game console generations

5 cherries to give you "invincibility"

2 wonder seeds for a "sense of curiosity"

Franchise game/console codenames

A bunch of coins. Count all of them if you dare and they may reveal some meaningful Mario number lol . . . The following are variations of coins and values associated with them (does their final value mean anything?):

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Regular/Gold Coin - Simply 1 Coin⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Red Coin (SM64) - 1 Red Coin = 2 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Blue Coin (SM64) - 1 Blue Coin = 5 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Purple Regional Coin (SMO) - 1 Regional Coin = 2 Coins Credits Music in chronological order:0:00 ~ Super Mario Bros 2. - Ground Theme ~ Super Smash Bros. "Afterburner" taken from the Upright Music website.A few of the tracks were composed by myself using isolated notes from both the show's OST and from Michael Tavera's OST for The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. KARO NOTES:HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY TO THE DONKEY KONG COUNTRY TV SHOW!! This cartoon took alot of different changes over the time it was being made, and the first couple parts were done in January (hence I added back the PINGtreon supporters from that month) This was initially meant to be a collection of skits based on the show like my previous DK vid, until the Rasslin' idea came to me. Most the production time went to that, so for something simpler, I dug up some of my previous cartoons, and had K.Rool intrude them. Adds to the main theme of this more, that way. This is my biggest production yet in terms of the length, and that's largely because of the rasslin' part with King Koopa, which I liked because it gave K. Rool the shot to earn legit respect as opposed to trying to take respect by force. Not to say he won't take both methods, still. Just the kinda croc he is. Also not gonna turn down the opportunity to dunk on Nu DK a lil' as well. The music track I used for K. Rool's Takeover is called "Afterburner", a Nelvana stock track from "Rock Smackdown" of Nelvana's stock music library. Composed by Paul Koffman and Timothy Foy, as is the other music used in the show. There was a second song I had planned for this using another Koffman/Foy track, but couldn't fit in, so I'll have to save it for something in the future with the Kongs. This mocap monkey show means the world to me, so I'm glad I could get something like this done and out for the 30th anniversary. ~KARO '26 TO JOIN THE PILLOWFORT► https://patreon.com/CountessKARO WHERE ELSE TO FIND ME►https://countesskaro.carrd.co/ STORE►https://countess-karo-shop.fourthwall.com/

Mario Animation gone wrong (on purpose)

The Nesmiths (try to) play Truth or Dare!

Welcome to the TrouserToons Truth or Dare special! Where Johnnie, Janie, and David play a game of Truth or Dare based on submitted requests I took from YouTube commenters XD Also, you might have noticed something a little "different" about how this episode looks compared to the previous ones. That's because, for the first time ever, I decided to try making this episode in a 21:9 aspect ratio! (aka "Cinemascope" or "Ultrawide"). I decided to try animating in a wider aspect ratio this time to try to make the episode feel a bit more "cinematic" and unique. I might make more episodes like this in the future (well, at least longer and more "special" episodes like this one). I've made a couple of animations in 4:3 before, but never in 21:9 before this. So I really hope this pays off! Anyways, enjoy the cartoon! Hello everyone. I made animation on SFM. And this time with Mr. Mime. Just let you know, I imported Mr. Mime addon from Garry’s Mod to SFM, and there’s no way to make its face emotional in 2D animation, so please forgive me. i've been playing a lot of mario kart super circuit on my gba lately, so, i've tought about my OC (bifocal shape) running on the snes rainbow road remake, and lakitu telling him to get out since he's not part of the game, has NOTHING to do with Mario and doesn't have a kart so... my dad gave me the pc i had at his office, in it i have various old versions of flash, i also connected the wacom intuos i have to it. it doesn't have a microphone, so i'll have to wait till my mom buys one for me, so, until then, new cartoons by me will be dialogueless update 1/10/25: I thought my pc didn’t have a mic because it didn’t work until now, today I recorded something with it and it worked, the more I know…

A lost game commercial from the early 90s!

VIDEO DESCRIPTION:Enjoy this animated trailer I made for MRPR's new game, DANCIN' DIVAS!I worked on this trailer from September 19 - November 22. I stayed up many nights getting it done before the deadline. The frame by frame animation was the hardest part, I have little experience in animation, but I'm really happy how smooth it came out. I was heavily Inspired by 2 Game Commercials, Super Mario Land 2 and The Popeye Videogame. Super Mario Land 2 Commercial:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZm5cXRShO4 Popeye Videogame Commercial:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTGUameYJmk I had a great time working with MRPR. I designed 4 Boss Characters, 1 enemy, 2 levels, 2 mini games, a boat, all the Screen Layers, The casting, and I voiced all the Male Enemies, even Van Bad Himself.I'm so happy the game is finally out! Play the game now! ;) GAME DESCRIPTIONA robbery has taken place! Four Diva's from around the world are showcasing their treasures at the local lounge but things have gone south.
