Airship Italia on the way back from the North Pole.

On May 25 1928, Airship Italia, commanded by Umberto Nobile, one of the founding fathers of Arctic exploration, crashed on the way back from the North Pole. The crash killed part of the crew trapped in the still drifting airship envelope and leaving the survivors stranded on the pack ice.The crew managed to salvage several items from the crashed airship gondola, including a radio transceiver, a tent which they later painted red for maximum visibility, and, critically, boxes of food and survival equipment which quick-witted engineer Ettore Arduino had managed to throw onto the ice before he and his five companions were carried off to their deaths by the wrecked but still airborne airship envelope and keel. In the wake of the crash, a collection of nations, including Soviet Russia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Italy, launched the first polar air and sea rescue effort. Norwegian polar hero Roald Amundsen boarded a French seaplane and headed for the rescue headquarters. His plane disappeared and though a pontoon from the craft was later found, the bodies were not. After a month, the first rescue plane, a Swedish airforce Fokker ski plane, piloted by Lieutenant Einar Lundborg landed near the crash site. Lundborg refused to take anyone but Nobile, who was airlifted to Ryss Island, base camp of Swedish and Finnish air rescue efforts. When Lundborg returned alone to pick up a second survivor he crashed his plane on landing, and was trapped with the other five. After 48 days on the ice floe, the last five men of his crew were rescued by the Soviet icebreaker Krassin. Nobile insisted that he wanted to continue the search for the six crew who were swept away by the airship when it disintegrated, but he was ordered back to Rome (by Mussolini) with the others.__Text-Source: polarquest.org

The Most Daring Military Raid - History Animated

Seven raids were launched each with two British Vulcan bombers and eleven Victor tankers. The raids targeted the airfield as well as radar and surface defense positions on the isles using bombs or new American supplied Shrike Anti-radiation (radar seeking) missiles. The raids would go down as the longest bombing missions of the 20th century, however, they are also generally considered to have been ineffective, causing only light and quickly repaired damage to the airfield and radar sites. The raids were criticized as being an excuse for the airforce to justify its existence and avoid budget cuts in what was shaping up to be mostly an army and naval operation. The raids did have a demoralizing effect on the Argentinians and caused them to shift some of their air assets in order to ensure future raids couldn't target cities on the mainland. ---------------------------------------------About me:--------------------------------------------- I'm Imperial Scribe, I make animations about military and naval history as well as war theory. The Daring BlackBuck Raids - The Falklands War.

A threat goes terribly wrong and an Empire is under attack!

Leader of an empire in Aderan Wars has been farmed (has been attacked and his kuwal stolen). In anger he sends the attacker a nasty message, not considering possible consequences. The attacker is angered and sends his airforce against him, destroying his air defense and ground troops. Learn from your mistake. Never threaten someone, who is stronger than you. If you feel someone has done you wrong, gather allies, team up with your friends and together you can take down any opponent. Join or create an alliance, because alliances are best at protecting the interests of its members. With a strong alliance, you will have the political power to decide policies and laws for all of Aderan, but don't go too far, because if you abuse your power, those who oppose you will grow in number and unite against you! -------------
928,968,755 people have lost their lives in Aderan Wars
between 1.1.2009 and 22.02.2012. This flash can obviously not reflect the true size of wars in Aderan Wars, as it's normal for millions of soldiers to attack at once and the wars are truly epic!

In reality, truth is only believed by a single individual.

In reality, truth is only percepted in its own way by a single individual. According to the less realist trends in philosophy, such as postmodernism/post-struct uralism, truth is subjective. When two or more individuals agree upon the interpretation and experience of a particular event, a consensus about an event and its experience begins to be formed. This being common to a few individuals or a larger group, then becomes the 'truth' as seen and agreed upon by a certain set of people - the consensus reality. Thus one particular group may have a certain set of agreed truths, while another group might have a different set of consensual 'truths'. This lets different communities and societies have varied and extremely different notions of reality and truth of the external world. The religion and beliefs of people or communities are a fine example of this level of socially constructed 'reality'. Truth cannot simply be considered truth if one speaks and another hears because individual bias and fallibility challenge the idea that certainty or objectivity are easily grasped. For Anti-realists, the inaccessibility of any final, objective truth means that there is no truth beyond the socially-accepted consensus. (Although this means there are truths, not truth). But of course as a whole, modern thinking will only rely on what is seen and not what is thought of. So here's some specs before we start. 3 months of labor intensive work
