Marisa Stole the Precious BOARDING PASS

The September 11 attacks,[f] also, often colloquially, known as 9/11,[g] were four coordinated Islamist terrorist suicide attacks by al-Qaeda against the United States in 2001. Nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners, two of which were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the third into the Pentagon, which is the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense, in Arlington County, Virginia.

The attacks killed 2,977 people, injured thousands more[j] and gave rise to substantial long-term health consequences while also causing at least US$10 billion in infrastructure and property damage. It remains the deadliest terrorist attack in history as well as the deadliest incident for firefighters and law enforcement personnel in American history, killing 343 and 72 members, respectively. The crashes of Flight 11 and Flight 175 were the deadliest aviation disasters of all time, and the collision of Flight 77 with the Pentagon resulted in the fourth-highest number of ground fatalities in a plane crash in history. The destruction of the World Trade Center and its environs, located in Manhattan's Financial District, seriously harmed the U.S. economy and induced global market shocks. Many other countries strengthened anti-terrorism legislation and expanded their powers of law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The total number of deaths caused by the attacks, combined with the death tolls from the conflicts they directly incited, has been estimated by the Costs of War Project to be over 4.5 million.[16]
Or at least we think so.

The glorious B-Wing! I hope you like it! 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗮The A/SF-01 B-wing starfighter, also designated as the A/SF-01 B-wing assault starfighter, more commonly referred to as the B-wing, was a heavily armed Rebel Alliance single-pilot starfighter and bomber manufactured by Slayn & Korpil. The B-wing saw action during the Galactic Civil War and was subsequently substituted by the B-wing Mark II. Quarrie: "This is one of my most advanced designs! Fast, agile, and narrow attack profile. And it packs a punch." The B-wing fighter was originally designed by Joe Johnston and Bill George for Return of the Jedi. The craft derives its name from the fact that the crew labeled the two new Rebel Alliance starfighter models in Return of the Jedi as "A fighter" and "B fighter". Bill George had so much input into the starship's development, that his colleagues nicknamed it the "Bill-Wing Fighter". Years later in Star Wars Legends the name "Blade wing" was devised as an in-universe nickname, which was canonized by the Star Wars Rebels production team.__Text-Source: starwars.fandom.com/wiki

Starting engines in cold weather was simplified by internal combustion preheaters

Starting engines in cold weather was simplified at major air bases by internal combustion preheaters, although their use was curtailed during the latter part of the war due to fuel shortages. Maintenance personnel sometimes employed electrical heaters, though these proved impractical because of the need for dispersal of aircraft and difficulties in providing sources of electricity. In Russia the Germans sometimes resorted to using a dangerous method employed by the Soviet air force: They simply built a fire under the engine. The Russians often just stacked up some logs, while the Germans usually built fires in old oil or fuel drums.__Text: History.net

Airship Italia on the way back from the North Pole.

On May 25 1928, Airship Italia, commanded by Umberto Nobile, one of the founding fathers of Arctic exploration, crashed on the way back from the North Pole. The crash killed part of the crew trapped in the still drifting airship envelope and leaving the survivors stranded on the pack ice.The crew managed to salvage several items from the crashed airship gondola, including a radio transceiver, a tent which they later painted red for maximum visibility, and, critically, boxes of food and survival equipment which quick-witted engineer Ettore Arduino had managed to throw onto the ice before he and his five companions were carried off to their deaths by the wrecked but still airborne airship envelope and keel. In the wake of the crash, a collection of nations, including Soviet Russia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Italy, launched the first polar air and sea rescue effort. Norwegian polar hero Roald Amundsen boarded a French seaplane and headed for the rescue headquarters. His plane disappeared and though a pontoon from the craft was later found, the bodies were not. After a month, the first rescue plane, a Swedish airforce Fokker ski plane, piloted by Lieutenant Einar Lundborg landed near the crash site. Lundborg refused to take anyone but Nobile, who was airlifted to Ryss Island, base camp of Swedish and Finnish air rescue efforts. When Lundborg returned alone to pick up a second survivor he crashed his plane on landing, and was trapped with the other five. After 48 days on the ice floe, the last five men of his crew were rescued by the Soviet icebreaker Krassin. Nobile insisted that he wanted to continue the search for the six crew who were swept away by the airship when it disintegrated, but he was ordered back to Rome (by Mussolini) with the others.__Text-Source: polarquest.org
