All those years of playing Tetris finally paid off.

When Juliano needs to embark on his boat way to Splash Island, he finds a problem, he needs to fit dozens of boxes! Luckily, he and his fellow gal, Evan, both have quite the Tetris knowledge to fit stuff wherever it does. The In-Group is not associated with Tetris, Nintendo, GameBoy, NES or any other trademark related. -credits (also included at the end of the movie)-the voicesjulián orellana - juliano, evandhamar casanova - katyanimator: julián orellanakorobeinki cover-rearrangementdoor sounds from pixabay

The In-Group: Tetris Style

Peculiar Boat Trip

A short film about a captain who underestimates a monster. An animation exercise

Few parts of the animation were surprisingly challenging. The ocean movement and waves were fun to animate, but the boat shots required a bit more thought. Since the boat is drawn in 2D and not a real 3D object, rotating and changing angles had to be done manually to keep the illusion working. For example, when the boat tilts and the camera angle changes, I had to adjust the drawing so it feels like the boat is turning in space, even though it's really just a flat drawing. The top-down shot of the boat was also tricky. As the camera pulls away, the captain had to look upward toward the viewer, and the cabin needed a slight backward tilt. In the real world you would naturally see a bit more of the top surfaces when the camera moves farther away, so I had to fake that perspective shift in 2D. Interestingly, the sea monster itself wasn't the hardest part. The most challenging bit was actually the water splash when the monster emerges from the ocean. Getting the motion of the water to feel energetic and believable took a lot more tweaking than I expected.Everything in this animation was created using Arttista, a 2D illustration and animation tool that I built myself. I've been using projects like this to experiment with different animation workflows and features while developing it. A lost game commercial from the early 90s!

VIDEO DESCRIPTION:Enjoy this animated trailer I made for MRPR's new game, DANCIN' DIVAS!I worked on this trailer from September 19 - November 22. I stayed up many nights getting it done before the deadline. The frame by frame animation was the hardest part, I have little experience in animation, but I'm really happy how smooth it came out. I was heavily Inspired by 2 Game Commercials, Super Mario Land 2 and The Popeye Videogame. Super Mario Land 2 Commercial:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZm5cXRShO4 Popeye Videogame Commercial:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTGUameYJmk I had a great time working with MRPR. I designed 4 Boss Characters, 1 enemy, 2 levels, 2 mini games, a boat, all the Screen Layers, The casting, and I voiced all the Male Enemies, even Van Bad Himself.I'm so happy the game is finally out! I made this stop-motion claymation trailer for Wink's Kickstarter

I'm happy with how this turned out! It was a lot of work to make all the different creatures and background elements for the video, and I think it's my best work yet. My favorite part is where Claymation Wink is shot out of a garbage can and falls into a Gameboy, turning into Pixel Wink. If you want to check out or back the Kickstarter, here's the link ABOUT: Wink & the Broken Robot is a new open world adventure platformer for Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Desktop, and Phones currently under development. Inspired by classic games like Super Mario Land 2, Yoshi’s Island, and Link’s Awakening, Wink & the Broken Robot offers a fresh take.
