CRAC-HEDD CHRISTMAS

Tabletop card games, violence, and swearing? Just another Wednesday for me.

OKAY LET ME START THIS OFF BY SAYING THIS ANIMATION IS DUMB AF! TRUST ME, I KNOW. JUST LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY! You may wonder what brought me to create this unique monstrosity? Well, that's rather simple...You see it all started when I talked to my friends with helping me out for an animation and a lot of them actually seemed up to volunteer, now instead of writing a whole script we decided to improvise. I gave them the line "Stop playing the F'ing Scavenger Cat card!" And from there they created a whole random scenario off of it (Which will explain the random events that happen, and the crude humor, due to them being more than a little immature.) And in the end, we got this animation. Also, this is my first time using a Frame-by-Frame animation software, so tell me if you like this animation! Oh, and the Jeeroy Jenkins thing that appear after credits is me and my friend's little studio. And yes, it's a play on the Leeroy Jenkins meme, we quote that whole video religiously. And my last thing I will say is see if you can spot all the little nods and references to popular media in the background. Especially the room with the bookshelf...Oh, and don't ask about the monster behind the curtain his name is Elbow, he doesn't like showing his face. But he is a sweetheart SincerelySpydrByter/MKContra/LeSpydr/Whatever my name is. P.SI am aware I am using Toby Fox's Music, but according to Toby. His music is free to use as long as I give credit where it's due which I do twice in the credits. And I do not plan on getting any money from this video, I only wish to entertain people not gain financial success. Which covers both the credit thing and using his music Non-commercially

TABLETOP TERRORISM

I hope everyone that sees this message has a great day!

Alien crack head

a pod of bots made a harsh landing on the red planet

A thing I wrote that I thought it would be cool to read over some footage that would accompany the theme. The soundscape came from me screwing around in Audacity for 15 or so minutes, and I thought it had a similar theme to the writing. I was working on Santa Smoke Prologue and Globetrotter when friend of mine Noah who was interested in collaborating at the time offered his skills, and I had the idea of painting a mental picture for him and having him recreate it in Unreal engine because he was learning to use it at the time. Clearly, Microsoft Sam read the script rather than myself, for two reasons, one being I have not found the confidence in recent times to try spoken word, and I've been really down in the dumps for 3 weeks recovering from a screwed up surgery. Finally started to move around more a couple days ago, ended up (gross/bloody warning): s̶p̶l̶i̶t̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ o̶p̶e̶n̶ a̶ b̶i̶t̶ a̶n̶d̶ b̶l̶e̶e̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ a̶l̶l̶ o̶v̶e̶r̶ m̶y̶s̶e̶l̶f̶ s̶o̶ I̶ h̶a̶d̶ t̶o̶ g̶o̶ t̶o̶ t̶h̶e̶ d̶o̶c̶t̶o̶r̶ t̶o̶ g̶e̶t̶ c̶l̶o̶s̶e̶d̶ b̶a̶c̶k̶ u̶p̶. Mentally drained from a week of agony and following weeks of boredom and insanity, and 3 moderate complications later, I caved and spent a fair bit of time scrolling social media (twitter and youtube), something I try strongly to avoid. It got the best of me and I felt even more miserable from doing nothing, to a point the day after I came back from the doctor (so 3 days ago) that I decided I am going to get back on the computer and finish up some old crap ive been working on. So I put this together, hosted a modded Minecraft server for my friends to play on with customized world generation and perfected configs, and made that little game about the philosophy of self destructive behaviour, insanity, and the internet.
Script:

a pod of bots made a harsh landing on the red planet
the immortal rover sustained a head injury
doomed to live forever with amnesia and limited problem solving skills
merciful would be water, on the brain, but it's bone dry round these parts
biomechanical superbeings form a roaming grouphome
home away from home, it seems new everywhere they go
little do the rovers realize, they're like half blind field mice
retracing the circumference of a small crater, made by their impact

oh, they're hardly poor souls
after all, ignorance is bliss
life goes on

one bot, nicknamed tom servo, not particularly capable of escaping small craters or repairing broken hardware, lost the ability to speak, and thereby the ability to call for help or talk sense into his handicapped crewmates, but is otherwise entirely conscious and unharmed

it's going to be a long life for tom servo

I used DaVinci Resolve because that's what I've got for video editing, my dad bought some kind of big package and anyways I have a copy, but I am very inexperienced with it, I apologize if anything is wrong with it from professional editor standpoint. I hit the target for what my vision on this project was, and it was cool to work together with someone on something, made this a quick and easy project even though the pieces sat in a folder for like a month. I have spent more effort on this description than what I created ok done bye

The villainous Dr. Robotnik confronts Sonic about his frustrations.

v1.0 — Initial release. Used chroma key to separate animation from backgrounds.v.1.1 — Used alpha channel instead of chroma key. Green line art artifacts removed.v1.2 — Added SWF version. Fixed minor color mistakes for SWF version only. COMMENTARYI started this project thinking, “Oh, yeah, I know exactly how to draw AoStH Robotnik; I don’t need to use reference!” And then every frame looked like shit. So, I went online and referred to the show itself and these two pieces of concept art by character designer Milton Knight. A good lesson in humility. I accomplished a good chunk of animation on a livestream, but the stream was struck down because I played episodes of Adventures of Sonic for my friends to watch thinking nothing would come of it. Maybe I should stream on Twitch or Picarto, accounts where I don’t really care whether they live or die. It’s a darn shame because that stream was a lot of fun! DoodleDemon and I started calling each other “blithering buckets of bolts” and watched Robotnik do a Nazi salute and that was absolutely hilarious. The show itself is a lot of fun. It’s stupid fun. Every moment Robotnik is on screen is a good time. Scratch and Grounder are great, as well. The team that worked on it—including Milton Knight, the voice actor Long John Baldry (1940–2005 R.I.P.), and the storyboard artists (including Scott Shaw! From the early Archie Sonic comics)—did a fantastic job given the limitations they worked with. Overall, I definitely prefer SatAM over AoStH, but they are both very different genres of animation. While I was working on this project, Milton Knight leaked on Facebook that Diskotech would be doing an Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog complete series release on Blu-ray and that it would contain new interviews with him. I had hoped that the release would be in HD given that it is Blu-ray and not DVD, but it was very unlikely whoever owned the rights to the show kept the film masters and only kept the master tapes, which inherently have a lower resolution. Later that year, Diskotech officially announced the complete series on Twitter. I am absolutely going to pre-order it. It comes out February 2022. If they ever release the SatAM complete series on Blu-ray (in full HD, knock on wood), I will die a happy man. Now that I think about it, I’m known by all my friends for being a huge Sonic fan, so it’s weird that it took until now for me to make a proper Sonic cartoon. This project started as a gift for MatterBoar. I felt bad that the previous animation I made for him was released in November 2020, 13 months ago, and I hadn’t made any new ones in that time. So I secretly started this one and originally intended to give it to him for free. He asked me if I was available for new animation work and I told him about this side project and he said he’d buy it! The deadline was Christmas Day. The night before, I promised myself I would work on this cartoon until it is 100% ready to release. I thought it would take maybe three hours. It ended up taking 22 hours straight. I only took three hour-long breaks to rest my hands and get a half-hour of sleep. A single cup of hot chocolate coffee got me through it! The thing that took the longest in this particular long stretch was the shot of Robotnik running in place. That took forever! I probably could have done this quicker, but I wanted to make sure each and every frame was cleaned up. I do not envy the animators of the original show. Despite how simple Robotnik’s character design looks, animating him takes a long time, especially compared to Sonic. Robotnik’s mustache and yellow jumpsuit straps in particular were very troublesome, as well as layering the different body parts. The most frustrating thing with Sonic was doing his baby blue highlights. Thankfully, Sonic hardly moves in this cartoon. (That’s kinda uncharacteristic of Sonic, but hey I’m not complaining!) I wanted to add some traditional paint-like motion blur to some of the snappier movements, but due to the deadline—and me just wanting to move on to something new—I could not do it in time. The tight shot of Robotnik’s face at the end was also supposed to be painterly, similar to the gross-out shots in SpongeBob and Ren and Stimpy, but after I took a crack at it in Clip Studio Paint, I couldn’t do it. Also, I felt that a rendered painting of a character wouldn’t fit a parody that tried to match the art style of the original show. Pre-production began in August 2021 and post-production ended on Saturday, December 25th. Normally, a 26-second-long cartoon wouldn’t take that long, but due to a myriad of continuous financial problems and setbacks, it took four months to complete. It probably would have had a better start if I had started by making storyboards. I run-and-gunned this whole cartoon and I definitely regret it. I ended up making last-minute changes to the character poses, facial expressions, etc., which isn’t something you really want to be doing a lot with deadlines involved. You want to make confident decisions in the beginning so that the changes later on will hopefully be few in number. Ordinarily, I would not do this slapdash approach with a commission. But this started out as a gift and turned into a commission later. Regardless, even quick, shoddy storyboards would have gone a long way! Lesson learned. Originally, I was going to commission my friend Dyoudi Mitimasa (@epicfunnyhahajokelol) do the background art. He is a natural at this kind of sharp, abstract art style. However, I did not have the money to commission an artist, especially at the time. So instead, I leave you with a huge recommendation to go check out Dyoudi’s art! He’s a wonderful artist and a wonderful person! Additionally, Milton Knight is still an active artist and has a Patreon! Go support him, too! I made this background art by referencing two screenshots from the show, shown in the timelapse video. At first, I was very happy with this art, especially since it was my first real attempt at abstract art. The reference really helped! But once I put it in the cartoon, something was wrong. Robotnik’s design is mostly warm colors. The background is mostly warm colors. I feel this leads to a lot of Robotnik’s movements being less readable than they should. Sonic is fine since he’s blue, orange’s complement. If I had to do the background art again, I would divide the composition into two sections: a cool section for Robotnik and a warm section for Sonic. CLIENTMatterBoar ANIMATION / BACKGROUND ART / EDITINGAlexander Emenheiser @ade-syndicate BACKGROUND MUSICDr. Robotnik's ThemeComposed by Reed Robbins and Mark SimonCover by Turret 3471 Main Title ThemeComposed by Clark GassmanIncludes motifs fromSonic 2 Title Theme and Emerald Hill Zone composed by Masato Nakamura,In the Hall of the Mountain King composed by Edvard Grieg, and Flight of the Bumblebee composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov AUDIO TAKEN FROMOneyPlays Sonic Robo Blast 2 - FINALEwith @Oney, Ding Dong, and JulianEdited by Dex the Swede FONTSPedro SPECIAL THANKS AND PATREON SUPPORTERSAnimation stream viewers, including DoodleDemon, for keeping me companyMilton Knight for being nice when I talked to him :)@SuprDee2 for being supportiveand giving me a new version of Toon BoomDyoudi Mitimasa @epicfunnyhahajokelol PATREON & KO-FI SUPPORTERSAleahAshleyFroggyDuwudeViktor Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog © SEGA, DIC Entertainment 1993 P.S. — I’m working on a new project right now! UPDATE August 25, 2021: Today, this episode is reinstated on Newgrounds. I removed it a few years back, due to my own personal conflict with the brief Kurt Cobain scene. It's the only thing I've ever done to actually offend myself, at least later in life. But the fans demanded a "complete set" for the episodes, so it's back. Now, for the first time ever, you can watch every single episode ever made, uninterrupted, right here on Newgrounds. I also updated this file to be a higher-quality MP4, free of the old Flash interactivity relics (subtitle buttons, and links to merch mostly no longer available anyway). Feel free to visit umop.com for more updates, sporadic as they may be. -- Big, fat, jolly Newgrounds TANKS to all of the RAB fans for five hot, sticky, buttery years. Gaze your tired eyes finally upon this twentieth installment, and scratch your head wondering how the hell we've come so far, for so long together. Or just scratch your head wondering WTF is going on in this fucked-up episode, in which case you might need to check out a few of the other ones. I've seen a lot (too much, really) of crazy shit in my life since 2003! So I figured, why not cram a lot of crazy shit into my 20th RAB flick, too? Technically of course, it's actually the 22nd one, counting "Magic Animal Babies" and "Engadget Animal Babies" (hunt for it!), but can those two promo-type things really be considered canon? I'm not terribly sure; I barely remember even making them. To be honest I'm not thinking very clearly since I haven't gotten any sleep this weekend trying to finish up this movie in time for Easter. Enjoy! High five (one finger per year), and who knows... maybe I'll be back with another RAB, assuming I don't mind squandering another week of precious vacation time and a half dozen more weekends... erghh.
