A Second Short that I never got around to finishing

This is a short i never finished. I got lots of other projects going but someday ill probably make an even better version of this. The background this time is a 3d model because I fell like it would fit better and it does kind of fit with the 2d Characters The story is that the bowling ball guy wanted to try walking again. But when he did try he kept making loud footsteps which then he got really scared that he mite fall throw the floor. The robot and plant guy tell the frog dude to help him but he didn't so instead the robot guy goes over to the bowling ball guy and helps him up. The robot offers him to carry him back to his room but half way there he accidently falls backwards while holding the bowling ball guy causing them both to make the tiny crack bigger and fall right down the floor. The plant and frog guy go to check on them down the big hole and they can see the robot guys glowing eyes while the bowling ball guy is with him. The plant guy goes to get a rope and lends it down to them so they can grab on and as they grab on to it and climb it the rope breaks and the plant guy try's to look for something else but the robot guy tells him that its fine and that he'll find a way for him and the bowling ball guy to get out. The bowling ball guy walks off in the dark place they fell in as he to try's to find something to help them get out and the cartoon ends as the robot guy looks at the camera and it fades. (This is what the story is supposed to be but the majority of it was not animated)

Not only was this a great exercise to dip my toes into big band music with loud brass and sweeping strings, but I'm fortunate enough to have the excellent performance of my good friend @JuliaHenderson providing the vocals. stage part1

On an iceberg in the ocean an adorable seal is not being clubbed -but what's in the water?

This is my first animation. My great accomplishment of sealitude <3. We were given the task of creating a 60second+ animation for a Multimedia module and allowed complete free reign on the plot, characters and style. Since this is my first real animation (apart from small clips to learn how flash works) I started more or less from scratch. It was a great and terrible experience. I am in love with the concept of being able to fabricate an entire world from scratch and being able to transfer my thoughts and ideas into such a tangible product. But on the other hand, this is one of the most time consuming mediums I have experienced. That being said, I would do it again in a snap. The idea came to me while doodling in a lecture (as you do). I drew a seal - a square one. And as a logical next step I drew a club, but I didn't really fancy killing off a seal with a club. A few lectures later I flicked past an octopus I had drawn previously and the idea sprouted in my noggin. I didn't want to brutally murder the seal, but I liked the concept of coupling something so cute with a dark and twisty element. Over about a week I developed my idea and incorporated intrigue, irony and humour into the plot, but was worried it would reach the minute mark. I pushed that worry to the back of my mind and created the storyboard in Photoshop in the style I planned on using. I did a lot of *cough* market research (spent hours trawling Newgrounds) and took an interest in My Little Pony (go watch it). A lot of my inspiration in terms of style came from My Little Pony - the whimsical clouds and outlining an object with a colour a few shades darker than the fill. I used a Wacom Intuos 4 for the drawing bits, and CS5.5 adobe software. I originally planned on creating the characters in Photoshop - where I am more comfortable than sparkling new Flash, but relented and switched to flash because vector images were simply a better solution. As I animated I surprisingly didn't change my storyline or characters by much - only small tweaks and improvements. I used motion tweens for the majority of my animation with chunks of frame by frame. I avoided using notoriously buggy bones for as long as possible - but again relented when it was a more elegant solution to octopus tentacles than other things I had tried. I added the sound towards the end of the process and tweaked my animation to suit. I used Audition for sound editing - which was also a new experience. I learnt a lot but also learnt that I really don't know much at all about the vastly powerful complexity that is every single Adobe product. I'll get there. To me, this animation was successful - not in terms of the realism of the movement or the perfection of timing but in the sense that I accomplished something cool. I created a world and filled it with things; I learnt more about Photoshop, Flash and Audition; I fabricated a seal that is irresistibly adorable and then deleted him with the use of an evil purple octopus.
I can't wait to do it again.

*Daily feature wow! Thanks everyone who gave positive review for my movie, especially those who appreciated its message. * Only had 3 days to finish this for my English class. Here's the synopsis with information on the literature references made in the movie: My movie is based on my interpretation of the Modernism tenet of "Loss of Community." The setting is an imaginary world of, literally, living colors. Each Color has the power to conjure any object they desire, but they can only create things that will have their single tint.
The story starts off with an introduction to this world, and then opens up to the main character, Max Red. The color red itself is supposed to be an allusion to the very humane communist party of Native Son, while the name Max is taken directly from the lawyer who defends Bigger in the book. Max is an artist, and decides to paint on a canvas. However, realizing that he is restricted to only using red, he decides it would be a good idea if all the colors came together and created a multi-color work of art. This integration of colors is parallel to the integration of race that was so ardently fought for by Max in Native Son.
Things turn out bad for Max when he tries to recruit other colors to collaborate with him on a new masterpiece. Orange completely shuts Max out, and green (which equals greed or money) converts Max's flyers into paper money, and then robs it all. Yellow simply confuses Max by turning into a cloud and disappearing, referencing the yellow cloud of Prufrock's Love Song. The Cloud in both the poem and my movie are confusing.
Hopes go up when Bob Blue agrees to help Max with his art, but Bob is just a mischievous character who later decides to draw a moustache on Max's portrait. Peter Purple isn't any better. Being the recluse he is, Peter quickly erects a large wall when he sees Max coming near him. The wall reads on the other side: "Good fences make good neighbors", an ironic statement pulled directly from Robert Frost's Mending Wall.
Mr. Blackanan becomes Max's last hope. Blackanan is an allusion to The Great Gatsby's Tom Buchanan, possessing the same sinister personality. Blackanan is immediately impatient and unwilling to work with Max and uses his dark powers to violently get him away. Blackanan also causes Max to lose his cool, and get himself destroyed, just as Tom Buchanan lead the way to Gatby's demise.
Max explodes out of frustration after his efforts were exerted in vain, and all the colors gather to see the site. Blue exclaims, after seeing some of Max's red color splatter on the wall: "He is a hot jet of life that spattered itself in futility against a cold wall." This is a quote from Native Son, describing Max perfectly: He exuberantly tried to do something revolutionary in his life, but ended up fruitless and "spattered" (literally).
The movie ends with all the colors getting into an argument, showing no progress in their community at all since the beginning of the movie.
The Colors were all uncooperative, awkward, and just plain mean. They definitely did not represent a correctly functioning community, which would have had a stronger sense of solidarity and camaraderie between the members. These colors did, however, represent the loss of community in their world.
