I turned my "Starting Soon" into a video game attract screen.

When you're firing up a Twitch stream it's a good idea to give the internet 10 or even 15 minutes to send out push notifications, do API handshakes, get a little coffee at the deli down the street, and whatever else the tiny gnomes inside the tubes have to do to get everything going. I decided to flesh out that period with some animation. The original clip of riding the elevator was originally inspired by playing a lot of Metal Gear Solid. It's all Aseprite work, and consists of a couple of very slowly moving sprites above and below my little vtuber mascot moving in parallax. I could probably stand to open it back up and flesh out the city/ mirror the statue of liberty which was originally drawn from memory. Still, I think it has a charm through the flaws. Giving the Statue of Liberty a giant gun and turning it into an apparent villain was a really funny bit back when I started using it as an aesthetic, but now I feel like it's hitting hard. Still good, but different reasons. I used Aseprite, Blender, and Spritemancer to pull it together. Aseprite was the heaving bulk of the work. Organizing the animation chunks and even pulling together the final animation. Spritemancer was used to generate the smoke effects in the gunshot segment, and I fully modeled that gun before rotoscoping it in Aseprite to maintain an aesthetic. I even went to the trouble of making the barrel automatically camber up just a little bit when the slide goes back. The turnarounds and final sequence with the Statue of Liberty are using freely available 3D models that were also rendered in blender and palletized in Aseprite. I feel like I stuck close to the ethos of making something like this for a DOS game without being shackled to technical limitations that only the turbo-est of nerds would ever appreciate. The soundtrack is a modified version of the intro track to "Eye of the Commando" titled "Prelude to Freedom". It was provided directly from the musician and I'm using it with full permission. Eye of the Commando is, unrelatedly, an absolute banger of a game that you're missing out on if you haven't seen yet. <a href="https://belthesar.bandcamp.com/album/eye-of-the-commando-original-soundtrack" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://belthesar.bandcamp.com/album/eye-of-the-commando-original-soundtrack</a><a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3016480/Eye_of_the_Commando/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://store.steampowered.com/app/3016480/Eye_of_the_Commando/</a><a href="http://twitch.tv/wobblypython" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">http://twitch.tv/wobblypython</a>

Dekoppi recites an original poem for Halloween...

Even though this does not fall under "traditional animation", I like to think this project is an "animation fusion" that is, it combines puppetry and "animating" in Adobe Premiere Pro. (Especially with shadow puppets, the similarity to puppets and actual animation models in flash, and the different ways of bringing these "things" to life always fascinated me.) The music is by Kevin MacLeod (aptly) called "Lord of the Land" and heavily edited by me via Adobe Audition. As for the poem itself, IT'S BASED ON A TRUE STORY! Several years ago, when I was working at a deli, there were two ladies named Kendra and Detra. Kendra had the position of PIC (Person In Charge) and despite her title she was very demanding and micromanaging whilst standing around doing nothing all day. Detra was the scary one; a meth head whose temper was violent and unpredictable. The "Sorceress" was the kitchen manager, and Kendra was actually "nicer" after their "talk" in the office... Though I was not witnessed to it, my colleagues told me one night Kendra and Detra had a "heated argument" in the parking lot ("Then one night the dragons met / The people watched in fear / KenDraug and DeTraug battled each other there"). And finally, "DeTraug [ruling] the night"-- basically instead of firing her and to keep Detra from scaring both her co-workers and customers, the company created a NOC shift just...for...her. Furthermore, on a personal note, my mother has been waiting for this project to happen after all the years I've entertained her with my recitation of this poem. I'm glad to report she is very pleased with the outcome. Cheers! And Happy Halloween!

Deli man is the serial killer character for the next episode of Detective Vermin. This is special content until I finish the next episode.

Deli Man Turnaround

Deli Advert

over exaggerated (to add to the humor) Maybe in the future I will bring a video camera to the real deli

The Deli

I made this months ago. It's pretty awful, lol. My friend made audio of himself telling himself a story, so I animated a short of himself telling himself that story. Goodtimes.

Although hate crimes have never been more humorous, this might be too graphic for my younger fans.

Cyberen History X

Last episode (<a href="http://www.newgrounds.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">http://www.newgrounds.co</a> m/portal/view/477481), Cyberen went to a local deli for a bit of a munchout, and was unpleasantly surprised when he was incapacitated, badly beaten, and thrown into a meat freezer by the deranged, cannibalistic proprietor. Being the resourceful little devil he is, instead of waiting around to freeze to death and get eaten, Cyberen makes some C4 out of a stray bobby-pin and a jar of jam he had managed to hide in his anus (you can never be too prepared, folks). Barely conscious, Cyberen staggers through the kitchen where he is coldcocked by the deli's cook. While the cook and his wife debate over what to do with the presumed dead body of our hero, the proprietor, Rauol Pupeshitz by name, comes in and tells them his intentions for the long-suffering Cyberen. When he finally regains consciousness, will he be able to talk his way out of this sticky situation? Yeah, you're right. He's boned, kiddos. Well, maybe not. Those of you who have been following the Cyberen Sillies since 2006 might remember a special trick Cyberen can do when he inserts his penis into an electrical socket (please NEVER try this at home. I'm serious, you could really hurt your pee-pee). If Cyberen can get to a wall under the watchful eye of his cannibalistic captors, he can use the elecrical current to tap out a telegraph for help on his nipples! Y'know I'm thinking about it now, my seasoned fans, and you might not remember that... I actually don't think that's ever happened... um ever. ;-X PS: Don't forget to send Cyberen a quick lil "get well soon" PM/blog comment at <a href="http://cyberen.newgrounds" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">http://cyberen.newgrounds</a> .com, as he's still recovering from breast cancer and a recent left mastectomy.

Eating Cyberen

Looks like just a silly trip to the deli for a nice, kosher sandwich and a bag of Cybero chips.

Cyberen in the Rye

*edit* btw the movie is actually over after the scene with the deli clerk with his eyebrow raised.

Well, you can't really make a parody of a bunch of parodies, so we'll just call it an homage or something. Our first piece of (mildly) serious work, we hope that people who look past the so-so animati…
