A short, frame-by-frame digital animation made to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the original 1946 American serial; directed by Fred C. Brannon and William Witney. The Cyclotrode X is a device designed to deflect atomic attacks, capable of disabling all electrical equipment. Its inventor, Professor Chambers, demonstrates the capabilities of the device during a faculty meeting; however, a traitor emerges among the professors, calling himself the Crimson Ghost.Following the demonstration of the Cyclotrode, two of the Ghost’s henchmen attempt to steal the apparatus; yet Chambers breaks it in order to thwart them. Dr. Duncan Richards, a criminologist and colleague of Chambers, arrives to engage the thugs in a direct physical confrontation. One of the criminals, Ashe, manages to escape; the other perishes when the collar is removed from his neck. (The mechanism of the collar is explained as follows: the individual wearing it is rendered completely obedient to all commands; only the Crimson Ghost possesses the means to remove it).Chambers subsequently informs his fellow professors that a duplicate Cyclotrode is currently held at a customs warehouse... I have been a long-time admirer of this classic film, and this project is simply my personal way of honoring its legacy. The visual style is meant to evoke the atmosphere of the black-and-white noir era, combined with traditional digital art techniques. All footage and characters are based on the original work, which is now in the public domain. No copyright infringement intended.

The Sun, following a traumatic experience, discovers there's more to life than work

'The Sun, following a traumatic experience, discovers there's more to life than work ' Sun Day is a film I have chipped away at gradually over the last year and a half, and I'm happy to finally release it, in all of its ugly glory. Tell me if you liked it. The film features stop motion, rotoscoping, photo collage, digital 2D and charcoal animation, all superimposed with live action footage. I did all of the animation across around a year, and used dragonframe, blender, aftereffects, davinci resolve, the tiktok editing window, premiere pro and audacity. All of the music was made by me using a guitar, mandolin, tin whistle and some sticks I found in a park (minus the opening song, 'I' by Patricia Taxxon, which is royalty free). The whole film was shot on an old canon dslr I bought second hand for maybe £200, so lets call that my budget. The masks were paper mache using mostly materials set to be recycled anyway, and painted with acrylics. I shaved my head for this film. I'm proud to have produced this largely with a team of two, goes to show how much you can make when you dedicate yourself to something. www.tackman.co.uk Written, directed, animated, storyboarded, props, sound design, music, co-edited and composited by bbshepsCinematography, colouring, assistant props and animation, co-edited and composited by Paris MatthewsThe Sun, Greens and the Phone played by bbshepsRed played by Joyron ValesThe Narrator played by Erin BeresfordAdditional music from Patricia Taxxon

The Amazing Digital Circus - Jax's Abstraction (Fan Animatic)

ive worked on this tiny thing for like eight or nine hours and my fingers are so cramped rn. I cannot WAIT for the day that I actually get a digital pen or something, cuz just using a mouse is literal hell. Either way, though, this was super fun to make. I'm not sure if I should just make a loop version of it, or keep it as it is.

The 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. animated!

This animation is a sequel to my very first hand-drawn animation. This time around, I used a Huion drawing tablet instead of drawing with purely a mouse. The quality is quite a bit different . . . maybe I'll need to remake the first at some point . . . Check out the original animation here, if you haven't seen it yet: Super Mario Over the Years! 1 - Unfortunately, you'll have to watch it on YT because I didn't have a NG account back then :( Isn't it technically the 41st now of Super Mario Bros?: Lol, yes - this project is a culmination of short vids I've been putting out during the 40th anniversary across my socials, plus a bunch more! I still wanted to call this an animation for the 40th, as it's the bigger milestone year than the 41st. I also just work slowly, and had a bunch of ideas, causing the release time to continuously get pushed back. Art Direction I've had the thought for quite some time to make a more faithful animation to the Mario series to emulate and honor the stylistic choices of Yōichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. My decision on the art direction also came down to me wanting to "understand the generations of Mario” from its official art standpoint. Furthermore, I wanted to embellish some of Mario's movements, not limited to the games, to give a greater sense of action and adventure! I referenced all types of official cover art, licensed activity books, instruction manuals, classic 80s/90s commercials and other promotional material for the games and time periods. It took way more effort than my past simpler, often rough character animations - but it was totally worth it! For later games in the franchise, including games like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey Characters, I choose to fuse the official render designs with the linework used in the manual art in the earlier games. I wanted the animation to have the hand drawn feel, but still have the evolution of Mario's design aimed to hit several of the "key poses" from the Super Mario Bros official art, and “bring them to life” in the animation. In order to execute this idea, I started with several of the key frames as these key poses, with some adjustments (like eye movements, hand placements, or perspective tweaks) to flow with the animation. As far as the backgrounds go, they involve a stylistic approach to Shigehisa Nakaue's work on the fairly consistent Nintendo summer artwork. I tried to simulate this by blending some watercolor texture scans I painted with digital watercolor brushes created in Photoshop to create laying and show a brush stroke on a more rough, coarse paper. The color usage references the internal colors displayed when playing the games on their respective consoles. This challenged me when it came to using a very monochromatic color scheme in Super Mario Land's Birabuto dungeon to quite the opposite of using a wide array of color in Mario's character animation in the Super Mario Odyssey segment. Easter Eggs Woah, you actually read up to this point? Okay, well, I'll let you in on a little secret: this animation is jam packed with a ton of hidden secrets/collectables. Try to spot the following:

Bosses and/or friendly side characters from each game

References to different Nintendo game console generations

5 cherries to give you "invincibility"

2 wonder seeds for a "sense of curiosity"

Franchise game/console codenames

A bunch of coins. Count all of them if you dare and they may reveal some meaningful Mario number lol . . . The following are variations of coins and values associated with them (does their final value mean anything?):

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Regular/Gold Coin - Simply 1 Coin⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Red Coin (SM64) - 1 Red Coin = 2 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Blue Coin (SM64) - 1 Blue Coin = 5 Coins⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀◦ Purple Regional Coin (SMO) - 1 Regional Coin = 2 Coins Credits Music in chronological order:0:00 ~ Super Mario Bros 2. - Ground Theme ~ Super Smash Bros. This video kinda aged badly in the making ngl

It was really disappointing to learn both that GTA 6 was not coming out on discs for their "physical" versions, PlayStation is going to discontinue physical releases in every game coming to their platforms and, not as suprisingly, that Xbox will go full-digital by the release of their next console, latter of which is only suprising for the fact that Xbox is making another console, really? They're better off going down the Sega path and exclusively focus on videogames. I'm also baffled that theres people out there that support the idea of getting rid of selling physical media alongside the digital relases. Sure! the future is here and we all have to get our games ONLY in digital! for the cost of what? a total lack of purchasing options so the digital stores in consoles won't have to convince you to buy on their platform using sale discounts? that's great! The idea of this animation was before all of this information came out to the public. See ya! YouTube link
