ricky meets eggy for the first time on a drug infused stroll (red honey by the churchyard ghost)

ricky and the blue ferret

A ferret walks into strange corners of computational space.

I'm developing <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/4487340/Shaderland/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Shaderland</a>, a puzzle programming game about creating a world of pixels. In the game, you learn computer graphics as you guide polygonal creatures through a world made of logic, in pursuit of an occultist hacker. As a tribute to the game's <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demoscene" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">demoscene</a> inspirations, Swizzle's Journey is a PC demo: a program that creates a realtime music video. It was created using a custom animation system I built on top of Shaderland, with the music kindly provided by <a href="https://wing.kapsi.fi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pumpuli</a> (<a href="https://thewing.bandcamp.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">bandcamp</a>, <a href="https://demozoo.org/sceners/22208/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">demozoo</a>). I released it on April 2026 at the <a href="https://2026.revision-party.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Revision demoparty</a> in Saarbrücken, where it received 12th place in the <a href="https://demozoo.org/parties/5512/#competition_20773" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">PC Demo compo</a> (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw4W9V57SKs" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">full stream</a>). The game is built from the ground up using <a href="https://rust-lang.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Rust</a>, <a href="https://wgpu.rs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">wgpu</a> and <a href="https://iced.rs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Iced</a>. The node graphs generate shader programs, which determine the colour of each pixel, and the same programs are used to simulate the ferrets. In the game, you will learn to create shaders, and guide the ferrets yourself! More information on Shaderland, and this demo, will be coming very soon... The Tooncels all gather round at Rick's crib to wait for Santa Daddy

The Tooncels all gather round at Rick's crib to wait for Santa Daddy. What has he got in his sack?~~~~~~~~~~~~Commentary:So yeah Merry late Christmas! Here's the fashionably late Christmas cartoon. It was sort of a bitch and a half to animate singing for the first time and at some parts it straight up looks like some characters are having a seizure but I like how it turned out and there's some sentimentality to it but of course I had to put in jokes. I recorded each of the characters singing verses and then stacked them on top of each other for the authenticity of having it sound like it actually sounds when children are singing in a chorus, everybody off-key and on different parts of the song. And no, the character who kind of sounds like Rick and points out Santa's fat sack isn't an animation error that's actually Bandit, he was a character I had in mind at the conception of this series and was one of Rick's classmates in Demon Dilemma who I wanted to have lines in that but couldn't think of a way to integrate and the thing was already long enough so I cut for time and I decided to finally have him properly speak before the year ended so he can be one of the OG characters. He was actually originally a ferret but then I came up with Freddy based on the Japanese ferret pet pages that show on my social media feed so Bandit became a weasel but now I'm realizing he kind of looks like a kangaroo or maybe some sort of chihuahua. I'll probably have fun in the future riffing on his species ambiguity. There's randomly a little more "political" humor in this than in previous ones idk why not really partisan it's just I randomly had the string of words 'Kamala Harris bikini magazine' come to mind and knew it was planted to my brain from God to put that out in the world. Also featuring JFK's cutie patootie grandson. Gave a shoutout to some of my friends from the art department I hope to collab with in the new year and dedicated this to a dear Twitter mutual who died earlier this year. Audio courtesy of Pixabay, video editing done in Premiere Pro and text graphics done in Adobe Illustrator. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8tgcbUfVlA" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">YouTube version. You'll note that there's a slight difference between the NG and YT versions. It's that I had a new idea for a joke the morning I posted to NG and didn't post to YT till later. I also began to edit the credits accordingly so my NG handle is present in the NG version and my YT handle in the YT versions.</a>

Screwypilled Tooncels: Have Yourself A Screwy Little Christmas

Just in time for the holiday season, you can have your favorite Tooncel in your own home!

The internet's funniest cartoon animals, adored by dozens now have their own talking dolls! You can collect:Rick, the lovable rascalRoxy, the tomboy foxFreddy, the ferret who tells it like it isSalem, the cat with 9... 000 livesJet, the jingoistic eagleClover, the cute little puppy~~~~~~~~~~~~After some time away, the Looneywood Acres gang is back! Or at least Rick and Roxy, but the rest of them as dolls. So yeah, this one came to me shortly after I did my last cartoon with them, I figured why not do a toy commercial after a PSA? Later I got so busy with school projects so even this one had a bit of a delay. But I had a lot of fun making it and I feel like a lot of the internet inside humor clicked and I was able to pack in a lot of jokes in a minute, even in the credits. This is probably my most Rocky and Bullwinkle inspired cartoon to date, there isn't really a whole lot of slapstick, but that's why I tried to focus on the dialogue. It was also more collaborative as I had 2 friends of mine(shout out at the end!) from art school who also animate listen to it, tell me what they think and pitch ideas. My friend Brayam and I were even on the same page as he suggested having the Salem's doll die. One thing I did differently in this short was use a screencap for the thumbnail rather than the actual title card because for this one the title card didn't have any characters on it. Usually I do like the main characters on one side and the antagonist(or antagonist-like) character standing on the opposite side but this one didn't have a bad guy. A raccoon struggles to pick an orange, so he gets help from a happy ferret. --- One year ago from today, I completed my first short film, and now it's finally released to the public! This was a project for my Intro to Pipeline Production course during my sophomore year at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Production spanned from August to December 2024, and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into this. Enjoy!

Furu the Ferret: Pull My Nose

Big Weasel Lil Weasel is my production company. It was named after the movement by some pet "owners" to chagne the word owner to guardian or ugh parent. I chose to call my pet ferret Little Weasel and I was Big weasel. In making my comedy special I wanted a new logo and had this idea for this massive almost mountain sized ferret that the little weasel sat on. Animation-wise, I recently have been blown away by the features being added to Blender's Eevee render engine. This was done in Eevee because I recently learned you can have volume based shaders in it which is mind blowing. If you don't know this, eevee was originally made to render on a surface level which means that vokume shaders working this well is kind of amazing. I mentioned this in another post but if you are one of the people who reads these descriptions, let me know because I put effort into them so as much info as possible is out there.
