Hi, folks! I am one of the artists of our studio. I got acquainted with the genre of neoclassicism, in particular Japanese, in 2012-2014. At that time, my friend and I tried ourselves in writing electronic music and sampled everything possible and impossible. One day, he sent me a link to a public page, which was called, I think, "haiku". It was a small community that published poems and attached albums of mainly Japanese neoclassical music to them. To say that I was surprised is to say nothing. Having become accustomed to associating classical music with something like Stravinsky, Chopin or Brahms, I discovered a sound that reminded me more of the sound of the wind shaking the heather. I was amazed then at how similar their music was to poetry. 3 lines, but sometimes there is more meaning than in a three-volume book. I hope that in this selection you will hear what I am talking about. The moon or the morning snow...Admiring the beautiful, I lived as I wanted. This is how I end the year. playlist "Hear the Wind Sing" Japanese neoclassical music<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrZsM90W6J0&amp;t=1771s" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrZsM90W6J0&amp;t=1771s</a>

How does one cope with isolation and depression day by day?

When dealing with depression and isolation, sometimes we need to vent about it through poetic expression. This series of haikus from the perspective of an older woman was inspired by my own personal dealings with mental exhaustion and inner loneliness. Reminder that it's ok to admit how you feel, no matter how negative it may be. Special thanks to Margaret McCabe Janicki for bringing this poem to life. Sorry it took so long to finally make.

"His balloon bursts - For the boy, The sky went away."

"His balloon bursts -For the boyThe sky went away."-Suzuki Shin'ichi, 1898-1998 This is the result of a month of work for the final assignment of my first year as a digital art student. We had to choose a haiku as inspiration for a short film. Animation and character design by me (<a href="https://twitter.com/LeKadronk" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">twitter.com/LeKadronk</a>)Backgrounds, sound design and colors by Antennaey (<a href="https://twitter.com/Antennaeyy" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">twitter.com/Antennaeyy</a>)(and we both worked on the storyboard and animation cleaning)

Haku Bone Animation

An animated short of a haiku I picked for a class project.

This is an animation based on a haiku about a man who bluffed his way to homelessness. I made it in two days,it's pretty rough and choppy but any constructive criticism would be great. I'm only just really starting out animating, so this was my first serious project. I hope you enjoy

Gambler's Remorse

Master Dook's invasion is on the rise, and there's only two men who can stop him...

Long ago, the evil Master Dook attempted to take over the world with an army of Jetpack-driven ducks, a plan which ultimately ended in failure. But when he plans to relaunch his invasion, it's up to haiku-master Po Em and his trusty partner to stop the ducks and save the world. Join them as they take off on an epic quest that's not half as awesome as it sounds. This video is a sequel to these animations, so you might want to check them out if your a bit confused.

This was a project I made for school roughly 2 years ago as a sort of crossover finale to all the other animations I made for that class. However, due to time constraints, only about 25% of it was actually animated, while the rest was in animatic form. Nearly 2 years later, I decided to animate the rest of it in ToonBoom, with much better quality. That's why there's such a quality difference between different scenes (black bars on the side= old. No black bars= new.) Sorry bout that.

Revenge of the Ducks

Inspired by one of Matsuo Basho's 8 word poems, this short film was a challenge to produce a minute and a half long narrative with only a Haiku to draw from. Hope you guys enjoy!

Inspiration comes in many forms, and appears when least expected.

My next animation project, Kanon Rock, is now in pre-production, and for the first time, it's seeking crowdfunding at <a href="http://kickstarter.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">kickstarter.com</a>. If you're interested in backing the project, you can receive the film early, or even make an animated appearance within the film! Check it out here: <a href="http://t.co/iaosDJ2PKV" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">http://t.co/iaosDJ2PKV</a> Edit: Thank you so much to Tom and the others for putting this on the front page! All constructive reviews, whether or not you enjoyed the piece, will be replied to, so please feel free to share your thoughts! A Japanese writer struggling to write a poem finds inspiration when he least expects it. Inspired by the famous poem by Matsuo Basho (1644-1694), the first master of Japanese Haiku: "An Ancient Pond,A frog jumps forth,The Water Sound". Created about a year ago, to experiment with the integration of painted backgrounds into flash and try drawing on ones at 24 fps. A moderate success, if I may humbly say so, and a serene work at that. Enjoy! Edit3: Some users have reported problems with the video (ie inability to play through the entire piece) when using Chrome on Windows 7. The problems have apparently been fixed, but if this happens to you, you can view the video on youtube: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP9D9OvEoZ4" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP9D9OvEoZ4</a>

BEN HAIKU #1

A Haiku flash project for my midterm in Flash Class.

Please Watch more than 10 seconds before you critique. this is a 3 1/2 minute flash that is on a sensitive subject.
We were assigned this project in my flash class as a midterm assignment. We needed to write a Haiku, so I wrote what I know about, PTSD. I have nightmares every night so I don't really like sleep. This was a way to get some of it out.
All of the music in the video is recorded by me. and the War Sounds were orchestrated by me. I am more of a music person, than the visual side but I enjoyed the challenge of putting this together.
I do realize the Artwork in here could be better but give me a break this is my first true flash that I have done. If you like the music, I have all of my albums Free right now @ Http://MrAcousticD.bandca <a href="http://mp.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">mp.com</a>

PTSD Haiku

I made this for my Adobe Flash class, it doesn't have a loading bar or screen-tough luck.
For my class I had to animate a haiku and so without further ado, here it is!
Thanks to Doki for Inspiration! &lt;3 salad fingers! Enjoy! (Edit) Haiku:
Rusty spoons for Sale,
Get them while they're hot and fresh
Spoons always love you. The other stuff is just what the spoon man is saying, a commentary if you will.

Front page, Sweet deal. Hello Newgrounds, Its been a while...
A short inspired by and featuring music from the film "House of Flying Daggers" Reviews in written in Haiku form always appreciated. More at TrueWeaksauce.com

Haiku Hilltop

The haiku is dedicated to the weather in Glasgow last Wednesday. I enjoy reading all reviews and will respond and rate all reviews. This took around 12 hours. 7-ish hour drawing, 5-ish putting it together in Flash. I thought it would be a lot less... Anyway, this is an attempt to do animation on paper (sun zooming in, leaves blowing). I don't have a lightbox or anything, so it was really hard to see through below when there was much detail. (i.e. with the leaves.) I had to keep lifting up the paper, check underneath. I didn't really leave room for the text. I'm gonna see if I can get a lightbox without spending too much. I'd really like to try my hand at paper animation again. "The sun pours. Air moves.
Shadows and lights play on leaves -
Born a month ago." minor edit: changed a full stop to a dash.

i know that newgrounds is mostly for kids, shoot 'em up, blood and guts and stuff... but there's really no place else to submit stuff like this to so if you don't like poetry please don't view(blam) m…

The second short film
I have made about Haikus.
I hope you enjoy.

Haikus II

Haikus are the ancient Japanese style of poem-writing. Consisting of three lines, each haiku follows a syllabic structure of 5-7-5. For instance: I wrote a haiku,
but it isn't that good, though,
so I won't share it. Ta-da! Simple as that. Included at no extra charge is a soothing soundtrack, to remind you of the ethereal properties these magical who cares, nobody's going to read this far. Enjoy.

Haikus

i had to do i haiku presentation for school..so i put it in flash.. took about a night (5 hours)... this isn't my usual style of animation... but i thought since i did it i might as well submit it....
