Pupper and his caveman battle megafauna, regular fauna, and hangriness.

Last time, Pupper and his caveman embarked (hah, get it? because dogs) on a journey as cold times approached. This time, they find themselves pitted against megafauna, regular fauna, and extreme hangriness. So here's my tribute to slapstick and classic cartoon shenanigans. Also included at the end is a review, prepared by my cat, Io. All the music for this was made by me.

Wooly Mammoth

I decided to make a music video for my remastered version of Dreamlands. When I imagined The Dreamlands, I imagined a colorful, "fog" under a beautiful castle, this fog turned into this pink ocean. I wanted to take my imagination as far as possible, so I added these mountains, with golden trees on them.Taking my imagination even further, I wanted a purple sun, mammoth like creatures that will roam the ocean, dragons and ships with sails of fire. Then I started animating. I am proud of this, this is the first time I make a full, non repeating video for my music.

In this movie, I expose Diyath for the sad mammoth he is.

In this movie, I expose Diyath for the sad mammoth he is. Let’s be clear here: IcyEntertainment did not invent the notion of a spam flash. There have been countless other spam flashes established, but not of this stature. This flash is of unique, quintessential nature in its own right; IcyEntertainment was brought together purely by his mutual love for spamming Newgrounds, and not via any relations outside of the information superhighway. Even to date, he has had no outside dealings or interactions. Pretty impressive from the spammer who nearly fell to mud, eh?

A woolie Mammoth wakes up to an earth running by the Canadian Tar Sands

A short dark humor cartoon of a mammoth who is defrost form his iceberg only to be trap by the population of Canada's tar sands. So it has a bit of an environmental message. Not sure if its comedy.

Woolie and the Tar Sands

Building up for a powerhouse of a prank indeed

Finally got this mammoth of a project done! This was a video I made as a final project for my Video and Animation class. For this video, I wanted to create movements that would change faster, but remaining fluid, essentially getting more experienced at 2's and 1's. Some parts are somewhat rushed as I was battling other projects around the deadline, but a lot of the parts made my expectation and I hope all ya'll enjoy this fun "electrifying" creation of mine. Also, If you've seen some of my work before, you might recognize which of my early characters I based the main guy on lol :) Edit: Well I've done something stupid, I didn't realize that I forgot the T in the title screen. I've uploaded a corrected version so hopefully that should show soon. Can't forgive myself for making an extremely obvious mistake though >_< Edit2: Typo finally fixed Hooray!

Static Prank

After narrowly escaping a cave man in prehistoric era, Time Log has advanced to the ice age. Here, it faces two troublesome opponents: a woolly mammoth and the dreaded ice man. What will be the result of our wooden hero?

It's not that I dislike sloths. Quite the opposite really. If you were going to compare them to, say, a bot-fly, a sloth would win hands down. They're cuddly and they look cute and they're peaceful. But they are useless. The sloth is a creature which sleeps for about eighteen hours a day and when it isn't sleeping, it's eating. It can only move at a maximum speed of...what? Five miles per hour? Probably it's too lazy for even that. So I don't really hate sloths at all. I just hate the way they are. If you take a look back over history at all the animals that have ever gone extinct, you see a whole load of awesome ones. Velociraptors, mammoths, those Australian wolf things. All of those were pretty cool beasts that didn't deserve their extinctions. I'd even take a dodo over a sloth. Because the sloth is doing nothing to forward evolution. It's a prime example of shitty evolution actually, because it's fucked if somebody comes up behind it with a knife. The velociraptor would just rip that motherfucker's throat out. The mammoth would gut the guy before he could strike. The sloth, on the other hand, just gets stabbed to death. So why should the sloth even still exist? One of natures largest predators, the tiger, is facing extinction right now. The sloth, who I maintain should have died out long ago, is still pimpin' in the trees, oblivious to the rest of the world. So used to being able to live a hedonistic care-free lifestyle, the sloth has not bothered to develop any sort of defence against would-be-killers. Should I be more sympathetic? With the levels of deforestation today, the sloth probably will one day get his ass handed to him by a Congolese logger who doesn't care for cuddliness. Sorry Mr Sloth, but he can run faster than five miles per hour and he's got an axe with your name on it. That's upsetting to some. Mostly those PETA types who think animals exist for any reason other than to die for the amusement of humans. But really, should we be held responsible for the sloth's unwillingness to grow some balls? Should we wait around for a million years while the sloth evolves some wings before we cut down the rainforest? No, I don't think so. I'm not letting Ikea go bankrupt over a bunch of lazy sloths. And worse still, the sloth didn't always used to be this terrible at everything. Back in the day (I'm talking a couple of million years ago here) sloths were big and bad. If you saw a sloth walking towards you, it was time to run. But then the Ice Age came along and the old-school sloths died of hypothermia, their oldest enemy. In their place came forth these fancy new sloths which we still see today. They have not made good replacements. Can you imagine if Megan Fox had replaced Samuel L. Jackson as the main motherfucker in 'Snakes On A Plane'? It would be an awful, awful switch. That's how I feel about the change from Megatherium sloth's to these modern-day cunts. They are the sequel that nobody really wanted. I know some of you are pro-sloth. I appreciate that view-point, and I wouldn't want to force my own opinions on you. I just want you to consider this: imagine for a second that your family are in a car accident which kills most of them and horrifically paralyses the rest. The accident in question was caused by an inexperienced sloth behind the wheel. You'd be mad at the sloth, I'm sure. But you can't do anything about it because the courts tell you that "it wasn't the sloth's fault because it was in a thirty zone and sloths are only used to travelling at five miles per hour". Or what if a sloth killed a black man and then brutally raped his corpse? If it were you or me, it'd be a hate-crime. But the sloth always seems to get away scot-free. Is that justice? I'm starting to run out of space to write this, so I want to tell you now how everything I've said relates to this flash movie. This flash is a protest with a message. It stands for everything which is wrong with the sloth community and at essence sums up everything about the average sloth. That is to say, sloths are fucking wankers. Thank you.

Wow, thanks for all the reviews so far. It's great to recieve so much constructive feedback. :) I thought I'd address a few points that have been raised by you guys and gals.
Story:
I had a bit of trouble at the start of this assignment nailing down the concept. All I knew is that I wanted to include my alien creature. Originally my proposal was about 2012 and a mayan demon slaughtering everyone (including a legend about another 12 demonic animals with super powers), but that was a little too epic in scale and lacked a strong conceptual theme. My teacher suggested I read up on mythology, and found a nice story about the Teumessian fox. I decided to cut down the number of characters and bring it back to the basics. I also dabbled in the paradox idea, but it was too hard to explain without a ton of dialog. Samurai Jack:
Yes, it is awesome. My favourite cartoon. I loved how this show broke the mold and shook things up.
I'm not much of a talker myself, I don't see the need when you can just explain with visuals / body language.
I feel visual storytelling is much more interesting than just relying on dialog to do the work for you.
Genndy Tartakovsky / Samurai Jack was my biggest inspiration throughout this project, I could go on about how awesome it is, but I'm sure you already know. length/speed:
I didn't really plan for the animation to run this long, the addition of the whole spaceship/freezer idea combined with the filmic style and no dialog just added up I guess. Battle:
If I was left unsupervised it would be all battle, ha ha.
I'm thankful my teachers kept me on the straightened arrow, as all battle no content seems similar to Scott McCloud's take on being all surface no core. I link those kind of animations to a song made from only crazy long guitar solos. It's cool, but after a while you get kinda bored. At least for me anyway. Music:
Yeah. I felt this was one of the main elements missing from my animation as well. I love music but I didn't have to to flesh any out due to time restraints. :(
My backgrounds also suffered because of the time crunch. I'll add my presentation speech to my blog/DA (which explains a bunch of conceptual/influences/pro cess/etc) if anyone wants a little more insight. I have always loved flash animation and props go out to Newgrounds for this great site and community.
I look foward to reading more of your comments. :D
