Weird characters that explode once they've talked too much.

HAND-DRAWN WITH MARKERS AND SCANNED INTO COMPUTER! Creatures that explode once they've talked too much, which then leaves an egg behind. I made this about 13 years ago, I was sad people didn't make things by hand-drawing and just used their PCs. Now with AI, people barely use their own actual skills anymore lol. I'm aware that many people may not have seen the original Evil Dead movie. And you don't need to have seen it to have some fun in this episode, but there are a lot of references here that are connected to the Evil Dead series. If you want some more context before watching, maybe check out the last edition of the <a href="https://voodoovids.newgrounds.com/news/post/1619729">Spooky Zine</a>. ABOUT THE SPOOKY ZINEThe spooky zine is a once a month mini mag that explores some more of the local lore and connects with the episodes and world of voodoo vids in a way that's external to the animation. They are a bit of fun, but also can contain wider context for viewers that want to have some additional context. Or maybe you just want to read more about what's happening in the wider universe. A LOVE LETTER TO EVIL DEADThis episode is a love letter to Evil Dead and nods to the horror classic in certain ways I hope you would find nostalgic and at the same time, perhaps encourage some new people to seek out The Evil dead movies if you haven't seen them. You have to have a passion for old school splatter gore horror. But it's got a great blend of gore and comic styled over the top supernatural elements that are sure to delight, and Bruce Campbell is just brilliant as Ash Williams. I'm super excited to learn that there are rumors Bruce may even return to the movies in some capacity. I know currently Bruce is battling cancer, which is awful news, but as he said himself, "Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch".I along with many fans are wishing him a good battle and hope he gets well soon! I'd love to see him on the big screen in Evil Dead again! Beyond this point there will be episode 4 spoilers so return to read the rest after you've seen the episode. <img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586325_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586325_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317"> BEHIND THE SCENES OF EPISODE 4This episode took a lot longer to make than the others, I hope that shows and also thank you for your patience. The script went through a few re writes and last minute changes that extended the runtime. Having every character in a single episode comes with more challenges, making sure to give each of them a good scene. But I think it was worth it as if you like any character in particular they are all present in this one. THAT ICONIC INTROIf you are familiar with Evil Dead you will have noticed I did my best to pay homage to the opener from Evil Dead 2 that explains the Necronomicon's origins. Making that was so much fun, animating the front cover of the book, combining it with some stock footage of an ocean that I tinted red, and for the "ink effect" on the page reveals I used some simple track mattes of real ink drop footage to do that. I love how it turned out.I also did the narration in the intro, I rearranged elements of the original script to work better with the set up for this parody. My goal was to allow people who've never heard of, or watched Evil dead to get up to speed as quickly as possible with the idea that "this book is bad news" TECHNICAL STUFFOne of the biggest challenges is creating new environments and props. Something you see on screen for a few seconds in a few shots has had to be created from scratch. Some times I over engineer stuff too and I probably could've made the chainsaw without an actually animated chain... but because I did, It allowed me to get some cool camera angles of it in action.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586351_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586351_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317"> Same can be said for the shotgun that Franklin is using. it is based of the same model they used in Evil Dead 2, the original film Ash used a single barreled Winchester, but the sequel it was a 12 guage double barrel Stevens model, and later in the 3rd movie it was a double barrel Stoeger Coach Gun, which is lovingly referred to now as "The Boomstick"Ash famously saws the barrel off in Evil Dead 2. Of course I needed a forest. Not any easy set to build but I made it easy by cutting a lot of corners, the whole forest set is just a simple plane with a particle system placing tree images randomly across the surface.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586349_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586349_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,495">I made it within an hour and the lighting is doing most of the heavy lifting. which is again fairly simple. I like my renders to not take AGES. Most of the animation scenes take about 4-5 seconds per frame. So the forest was as basic as it needed to be. Paul's date cutaway was another external set that required a suburban feel to it. so I modeled some simple houses and kept camera angles to a minimum and focused only on what I needed. it was a very short scene so keeping the set small was important... but I could probably use it again in future should the need arise.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586352_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586352_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,295">Voodoo Vids itself as a set is the biggest and most detailed because I wanted a space where I can point the camera pretty much anywhere and have a great shot. A lot of time was spent on that, but it still needs work and more will come to the set eventually. Another huge time save has been using multiple cameras within the same scene and swapping between them. traditionally I would've worked on one scene per camera shot, but using Blenders camera marker system I can have multiple cameras that I can cut to whenever I need. so I can animate the whole scene in one blend file. This also makes it easier to alter small parts or fix things in post easier without having to dig through a load of different scene files. MUFFINMuffin the Dog was referenced in the <a href="https://voodoovids.newgrounds.com/news/post/1619729">Spooky Zine</a> and fun fact, he is voiced by our own dog Podrick. Recording his various noises is fun. To get his taco crunching sounds we used a Poppadom, he very much enjoys working with us when there's food involved.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586356_28415006.jpg" alt="iu_1586356_28415006.jpg" data-smart-scale="764,764">The next two episodes will probably be a little shorter again too not keep the gaps too long between them. AND for the finale there's going to be another great addition to the page that you can all experience and join in. more on that soon.We may even see some more new characters too!! FINAL NOTEThank you all for watching and a special thanks to Bruce Campbell and Director Sam Raimi for making a bonkers horror franchise that inspires fans and creators still to this day.As for Voodoo Vids please share it if you can, tell people about It! Your support is greatly appreciated with every like, vote, comment. It will be available on youtube next week, right now they remain as Newgrounds exclusives at launch. If you want to know anything else about production or things I've not mentioned here, then please ask. more than happy to answer any questions.See you in the next one! and look out for the next edition of the Spooky Zine for some more info soon!

A guy uses a whiteboard marker and uncovers a secret

This was actually created around Feb 21st 2026 LOL! This was actually an easy job adding sound effects, I just stayed away from my computer for a long while because I spent like way too much time on it last time when I was younger. Btw. I used sound effects from Pixabay. I always have to make sure I don't use copyright sound effect. <a href="https://pixabay.com/users/freesound_community-46691455/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">freesound_community - Pixabay</a>

TOWER (Chapter 2)

Wait, that was an insult. (2025) For those of you who don't know, this is my take on a clip from an Eddsworld classic episode entitled "WTFuture". This video features audio dubbing voice work from yours truly. The heads are colored mainly with washable Crayola markers. The body was made with watercolor and marker and the background is blue construction paper with more Crayola marker. It was originally meant to be a paper cutout animation but I ended up just using a scanner with whole sheets of paper --in which I removed the backgrounds with Pixelmator pro and my XPPen Deco 640. I used a stock rain sound effect and a rain visual effect from Final Cut Pro. The stars are white-out and the moon is just a piece of paper. The video is rendered at 24 frames per second. Hope you like it. FERDY AND OSLO - MISCHIEF MAKERS

Not my best animation, but that's not the point. These two companies are responsible for the censorship and removal of several games on Steam and Itch.io. Some of which didn't even contain nudity or sexual themes. This is a blatant violation of our rights as consumers. We need to end this. If you own a Visa or a MasterCard, and don't know how to phrase your complaint, folks have been using this template for Visa:"I am a concerned customer about Visa's recent efforts to censor adult content on prominent online game retailers, specifically the platforms Steam and Itch.io. As a long-time Visa customer, I see this as a massive overreach into controlling what entirely legal actions/purchases customers are allowed to put their money towards.Visa has no right to dictate my, or other consumers behavior, or to pressure free markets to comply with vague, morally-grounded rules enforced by payment processing providers. Unless these Draconian impositions are not reversed, I will have no choice but to stop dealing with Visa and instead swap to competing companies not directly involved in censorship efforts, namely Discover, and AmericanExpress." and this one for MasterCard:"I am a concerned customer about MasterCard's recent efforts to censor adult content on prominent online game retailers, specifically the platforms Steam and Itch.io. As a long-time MasterCard customer, I see this as a massive overreach into controlling what entirely legal actions/purchases customers are allowed to put their money towards.MasterCard has no right to dictate my, or other consumers behavior, or to pressure free markets to comply with vague, morally-grounded rules enforced by payment processing providers. Pikachu and Mimikyu wrestle at the edge of a forest ♡

Two Pokemon wrestle at the edge of a forest. Pikachu, a yellow and slightly chubby mouse creature, is trapped sprawled out beneath his partner. Atop Pikachu is Mimikyu, A dark and ambiguous creature, all but its bottom covered in a cheap cloth facsimile of Pikachu, its faux face appearing drawn on with marker. While warmly enveloping Pikachu's cock into it's body, Mimikyu wriggles its many nub-like tentacle appendages over Pikachu's tummy. Wobbling its body in a clockwise motion it clings to Pikachu, sucking in his cock when it comes down and tugging tightly on it as it leans forward; its fake head swaying limply behind its motions. In rhythm, it sways back and forth, the unending latching and unlatching accompanied by the sticky sounds of Mimikyu's playful gripping. Caught in this unending dance, Pikachu tightly shuts his eyes, blushing. Distressed and disoriented, he's forced to sway along with Mimikyu's movements, his limbs weakly flail about as he's milked. His head spinning with sensations, Pikachu squeaks out various meek cries, met by Mimikyu's shrill chirps. Mimikyu closes its eyes at the height of each turn, looking pleased.

Hey Guys!!!BEHOLD!!! THE INSIDE OF MY MIND!!!(also, yes! I was partially inspired by Evangelion for the intro and music choice!😅)I wanted to make something that could accomplish 3 specific things:A. Get me out of art blockB. Showcase the main concept of the “Tewniverse!” (Multidimensional travel)C. My NEW Project-dot-twn

A short made for a college project about Febus and friends

This is an alternative of the actual original (I put my username instead of my real name but still is all of the original) A family of different species of creatures talk about their friend Elena who’s done more harm than good. Ginger sees no hope in keeping her in the family while Danny tries his best to help Elena. Elena remembers the good time, but also the bad times as she was abused for most of her life. Even destroyed a frog. One memory sticks out as she lied to Febus about having her own daughter. Trying to freeze in the storm, Febus shows up anyway to keep trying to help Elena from her old life. music by meanimated in Procreate dreamsused Adobe premiere pro since the college was teaching me how to use itvoices by me (hit why all characters sound the same) my professor said it was very deep and a wonderful sad story, best video she ever saw from a student in her classa lot of people loved itI add this to my portfolio but one day I’d like to make Febus into a reality of a show or movies (maybe by indie film makers to give people a chance at making art) for now it’s comic form. Buckle your pants because It's the Behemoth 20th Anniversary Collab!

20 years ago today, The PS2 version of Alien Hominid made its way onto North American markets! Although this isn't the 20th anniversary of the company's founding, This is the 20th Anniversary of Behemoth games! It's small in size, but it's big in heart! The Behemoth is a video game company founded by <a href="https://danpaladin.newgrounds.com" rel="nofollow">@DanPaladin</a> and <a href="https://tomfulp.newgrounds.com" rel="nofollow">@TomFulp</a>. P.S: Apologies in advance to Pit People fans.

Southoark - Grave Makers

A quick animatic from a han-drawn Shantae I did sometime ago with watercolor markers.

Ed Markers Markers

Meet the Merry Makers! (1936)

A traditionally animated run cycle, made entirely analog, using layers of hand painted cels. The line work was done with a china marker and the colors with acrylic paint.

Running Creature

1st piece of animation I have ever worked on. 32 years with no experience. My beginning...

This is solely being uploaded to commemorate my first ever animation, and as a marker of my progress moving forward. As of right now, I am 32 years old with zero experience, and I can't wait to get my fingers wet and sticky. It is also my first ever upload to the site since the creation of my account in 2008. This was just a first stab at using an animation program and was not taken seriously - but Bart's feelings should always be taken seriously. -Thornstache

The Cry of The Bart (Why Bart Cry?)

The first half of the first Merry Makers episode.

The Merry Makers EP.0.5: Meet The Merry Makers (1936)

Meet the Merry Makers Sneak Peek

Last night, I had the strangest dream. This silly sticky note unicorn, whom I dubbed "Loopy," refused to let me rest. In this dream, she would pester me with requests for headpats and snoot rubbings and hugs and the most baffling tendency to shake her noggin down at the floor, against my waist, as if to suggest that I might scratch behind her ears. I woke this morning at my desk, to find that I had drawn her again, this "Loopy," with a marker in hand I did not recognize. It frightened me so much that I stayed home all day, recording this sleep-drawn, smiley Equestrian with my pocket camera, in the hopes that should she attack me, I might be at the ready. Here are my findings. Allow the video to buffer - and please be warned, this footage may shock and disturb you, as it did me:

Loopy the Unicorn

There's lots of bad information on the internet, including this video.

There's lots of information on the internet, but not a lot of it is great for learning. Like this very video you're watching. I mean, if you're not careful, you might learn a trick or two, but I wouldn't recommend it. Ink, marker, gouache, and colored pencil on Arches Hot Press paper. Mounted them to pine wood panels and set them up to hang on a wall. Maybe your wall someday? Who knows.

Randy Stair's Weis Markets Shooting (Animation Test 07)

Stop-Motion and 2D animation hybrid media about the story behind one boy's blackened eye

I made this as a final project for ART 49528 class at the City College of New York with Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Animate, and Stop Motion Studio Pro. I used index cards, Crayola markers, and color pencils to make this animation.
