First Parade of '25 (Hours Long Repainting) in Norascopy and Dot Matrix

Sequel to Dot Matrix World Gate utilizing two animation styles this time - Rotoscoping over the specific moment of the parade with NORS (which we hope you will look into) and more use of the dot matrix style from the last video. It took hours to create and repaint - so far exclusively for Newgrounds with this video partly in celebration of the previous upload and those who supported it within the communities we are a part of. The title refers to the song "This Time of NIght" by New Order (our favorite band and major musical inspiration) who we have to thank for the rare remix of music. If you’re interested in NORS, feel free to check us out here: <a href="https://www.norsupdates.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://www.norsupdates.com/</a> On Another Note: Big Progress on Our Music Video Adventure! We’ve infused some enchanting elements inspired by Strawberry Switchblade, added delightful glitchy rotoscoping magic, and embraced vaporwave aesthetics in our latest edits. Stay tuned because we can’t wait to unveil more magic soon. Support me <a href="http://www.patreon.com/wafellmaker" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">www.patreon.com/wafellmaker</a> Well here we are; The STPPM finale. I had so so so much fun with this project. I'm Genuinely so happy with how the finale turned out. I will leave below another little diary entry about this episode. I understand my pipeline - release infrequency does not please the YouTube algorithm, and I know of strategies I could employ to better my odds. (making smaller, easier projects, animating trending topics, etc) I believe while these strategies would better my chances of getting my art out there, they would make me disappointed in myself as an artist. I've made the conscious decision to take the hard route to make me happy with what I'm doing, even if my work is less publicly 'successful.' Despite knowing all of this, it is still extremely disheartening to spend months and months on an episode, only to release it and see it gain zero traction. So disheartening that it actually had me seriously consider giving up on Super Turbo Power Punch MAXED after episode 2. I am so glad I didn't. I am so glad I finished this series. I believe it to be something truly special to me. But before I get ahead of myself, lets talk about episode 5. This chat may leak into topics across the whole series, as at the time of writing this I just watched the series as a whole, and feelings towards STPPM as a whole certainly are flowing. Kal's redesign was planned in the script. But I didn't actually have a plan for what I wanted him to look like when he became the Keeper of Radness. I waited until I got to Damian's death before modeling Kal. I really like Kals new design. The black belt caused me some headache, but I think the result was worth it. I really like a lot of the dialog between Kal and Korloc in this episode. It's a lot of high inspired confrontational silliness. Stuff I like to imagine Kal picked up across all of his movie watching both in the vision realm and over the course of his childhood. I watched a lot of Kung-fu movies as a child. Which of course was accompanied with all kinds of action movies of all way shapes and forms. Basically everything Jet Li, Fearless, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The One, The Protector, Ong Bak, Matrix,. I could go on and on. Martial arts always attracted my interest as I am a huge action fan. My family means a great deal to me, and while I have always and continue to connect with different members of my family over different things, I spent a great portion of time watching these films with my Dad. My Dad was hugely involved in my childhood and is unquestionably the culprit in injecting an appreciation for kung fu movies into my life. (Hey what do you know, The effect you have on others, eh?) Anyways, kung fu movies hold a special place in my heart, and I thank my dad for that. The shot towards the end of Episode 4 of Kal and Damian watching Kung fu movies in the vision realm reminds me of those days with my dad. huddled in front of the family TV rewinding the VHS to watch the cool fight scene once more. A lot of Kal's kung fu is just him waving his hands around. As though all he did was perceive kung fu fights through TV rather than being trained seriously. Because that's exactly what he did. There was a time when I was a kid I used to think I could be a master just by watching TV. But after just 10 minutes of jumping around doing kung fu in the backyard, it was always easier to just go inside to watch more kung fu and daydream, much like my fellow enthusiast Kal. Kal takes his 'training' much more seriously than I ever did. But the inspiration for his character was a hyper-dramatic version of my younger self. A caricature of the 'I watch kung fu movies I know what im doing' type. The fact we did not see the lessons Kal learned in the movies directly was perhaps a strange choice for the story. It was however a conscious decision for the overall message and theme. We learn from the influences around us. Of those influences, it's our jobs as people to filter and deduce what is worth passing on to others, and what we can let go of. With this in mind, it doesn't matter what specific influences did what to Kal directly. Kal made the decision that of everything he's learned,. Being Rad is whats worth passing on. I feel I could talk all day about the nitty gritty but a lot of it is pretty self-explanatory as to what I was going for, so I leave it to you! I started writing a script for my next project back in August of 2024. I plan to start working on my new project very soon. But fear not, Another action packed story is coming. Thanks again everyone for your patience, and your loving support through my journey. I love you all dearly. HOTM 1 Revised Edition

A sprite recreation of the Neo versus Smith(s) fight from The Matrix Reloaded

PLEASE RECOMMEND THIS FOR THE MATRIX COLLECTION! Thank you to the high voters for the Front Page and Daily Feature.
It's nice to know someone appreciated the hard work! For the rest of you, assuming you take the time to read this description, let me address some FAQ's: 1) Why is everything green?
I exaggerated everything in this movie. Like actors in a play, to convey the actions and appearance of the sprites I found it necessary to amplify a few elements. The color green is one of those elements that defined The Matrix. 2) He jumps way too high and far too much, why?
First off, refer to question #1 for why so high. Second, using sprites, for anyone who has attempted a sprite animation, it becomes difficult to vary the motions as you get further into the animation. In order to account for this, I incorporated new moves. Also, given the 2-D nature of the animation, I was one dimension short. While I made every effort to give the illusion of depth, in order to compensate for that missing coordinate, I added more height to the animation. 3) Why didn't you use your own sounds or original music?
Keep in mind that the animations are synced to the original soundtrack, which I recorded straight from the movie. This provided more challenge, as I like to set various limitations on myself when embarking on time consuming tasks, such as this animation which, for the curious lot of you, took around 4 months to complete. There are moments in the animation when you might hear a sound that doesn't accompany an action. Watch it again, check the side of the screen for a Smith banging into a wall. Or maybe you hear the pole twirl, but Neo is off screen. 4) How could you forget the scene with Neo spinning on the pole and kicking all the Smiths?
Once again, limitations in two dimensions. Additionally, while an eight minute long sprite movie may appeal to some, most would become bored. I used about three minutes worth of sound from the fight sequence, focusing more on the stronger points of the song. The section of the song to which the movie featured the pole-spinning-kicks was not one of the portions I used and therefore was no series of sound effects with which to create that scene. 5) Are those KoF sprites? Why didn't you make your own?
Yes, I found the original sprites on FightersGeneration.com. They are from a fighting game entitled King of Fighters. I used Oswald for Agent Smith and Ash Crimson for Neo, as these sprites most closely resembled their prospective characters (Smith more so than Neo, I'll admit). I edited the sprites, to which was delegated about one fourth the amount of time it took me to complete the animation. There are a lot of sprite movies on Newgrounds which feature sprites and rarely have I ever seen fully original sprites. Mario and Zelda parodies are very popular and I see very few complaining about these animations. Just try to put that in perspective. I would have loved to draw original sprites from scratch but it would have taken a year to complete this animation had I done so. I don't know too many people with that kind of free time and I'm certainly no exception. 6) The Matrix came out years ago, aren't you a little late with this animation?
Yes. However, I began this submission back in 2004. I worked on it for a few months then moved about 3 times, had 5 different jobs and got pretty busy. I recently got a new job and a new computer. Between the upgrade to Flash 8 and the ability to work from home and make my own hours as an SEO consultant, I was finally able to finish this. I thought, what a waste to not submit something I worked on for so long. Don't you agree? Also, some of us still enjoy a little throw back here and there, even if the idea was killed by a bunch of morons in the hay day. 7) Why sprites?
Three Words: Super Nintendo Rules. 8) Credits?
Music - "Burly Brawl" by Juno Reactor vs. Don Davis, The Matrix Reloaded Soundtrack
Sprites - King of Fighters, SNK (Oswald and Ash Crimson)
Backgrounds - by me, from scratch, in FormZ
Text - Matrix Font found on <a href="http://dafonts.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">dafonts.com</a> Enjoy.
