BTC invites Nico to a fun game but he actually just kills Nico and tortures him

This isn't one of my best animations I don't really know how to feel about it but I am glad that I made this to create a conclusion to this storyline of Bobo the Clown Nico gets invited to eagle games WAIT NO I mean he gets invited to a fun game where he can win a burger. But this game is actually just an excuse for Bobo the Clown to torment Nico, and then he kills him and continues to torment him. Finally, Nico confronts Bobo the Bo and he dissapears for now, freeing Nico from the curse of BTC. This is kind of like a metaphor for the Bobo Cinematic Universe/my Bobo the Clown related animations (like Jojo the Pound and The Ice Age/Fobo the Freeze) and my obligation to not render it unfinished - However, I feel like I just don't feel like continuing that storyline/making those animations really important as they just aren't what I want to animate and are kind of limiting/don't give much in return for the effort that they take (because like who even is BTC like who even know what that is besides a couple of people)So Nico freeing himself from Bobo the Clown is kinda like me freeing myself from the Bobo CInematic Universe??? ig but that's not the main point of the animation that's just something that I added

Bobo the Clown's Game

Proof of concept for our upcoming series MOTHELL

The Mothell is always open.Come in. Sit down.Something will come along. Okay, let me try to explain a bit of the context, even though words aren't really my thing. The concept is very simple: we're in this surreal diner/motel floating in a space/non-space, where ambiguous characters come looking for... rest? Comfort? Who knows... And where things happen. In every episode a new character is added, and there will be no time ellipses — they'll all be consecutive. All episodes together, watched in a row, will form a single short/feature film, I imagine.Nothing earth-shattering in the traditional sense, but every episode is a metaphor for something — although I won't be the one to say which ones, I'd like everyone to see what they want in it.There's a lore behind it, and what happens happens for a reason, but again, I'd like you to discover it as you go through the series. I'd like to tell you how this idea was born, but I've spent the last two weeks working so intensely day and night on this project... so many ideas, so many changes of direction, additions, modifications, that I've forgotten what the initial spark was. I think that at some point I simply said to myself "Hey, let's try to produce something, doesn't matter what." And so I started putting together some of the low poly assets I've created over the last few years, without worrying too much about the story, just to see what happened. To have that feeling again from when I was a child and played with my toys, and it was enough to just spread them out in front of me on the floor, and suddenly they came to life and anything could happen. And, just like back then, everything happened. I took my "abandoned factory" assets and built a diner out of them (if you look closely you'll notice everything is wrong — the tables are workbenches, so too high to comfortably eat at, and the counter is too low, which is why the protagonists sit in those awkward positions — and those are just two examples), I added a couple of human characters, and made up something for them to do.From there some stories started taking shape in my head, enough to start thinking about making a series out of it, and what seemed like a one-off thing now feels like one of the most interesting projects I've ever come up with. We'll see if that's true. The only rule I gave myself: I want it to be weird, to look off, to reflect my personal pursuit of the "not beautiful." I know, not much of all this happens in this first episode — the main goal here was to see if I was capable of finishing one — but I promise you, as we go on, it'll get better. Then, obviously it's all weird — or maybe I should say New Weird? I'm a huge Jeff VanderMeer fan — so I imagine you have to be into the genre a bit, but either way I'm giving it everything I've got. I'm also leaving here a photo of my paper storyboard, even if you probably won't make much sense of it, I can barely make sense of it myself haha — initially I was planning to post it only as a reel on Instagram, which is why it's in vertical format.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/580/iu_1580972_27864553.webp" width="540" height="759" alt="iu_1580972_27864553.webp" data-smart-scale="540,759">Thank you so much for your attention and see you next time! metaphor

When the walls start moving, it’s already too late.

A strange golden insect crawls into a bedroom on a stifling summer night. As it invades the sleeping body, the walls begin to shift and pulse — and the nightmare begins. This film was created in just two weeks, in collaboration with friends from different countries. On the surface, it unfolds like a fever dream, but beneath that, it serves as a metaphor for the experience of body dysphoria at the onset of puberty. Many trans people feel more at ease with their bodies during early childhood, before any visible traits begin to define them by sex. But as their bodies start to change, a sense of terror can emerge. The invading bug in the film symbolizes that moment when unwanted changes begin, and a cascade of complex feelings and thoughts takes over. It's about that invasion, both physical and psychological.

Before We Squeak

Horse Town the town where everyone is horses, a short film by me, hi This started as trying to find inspiration in animation again. It'd been years since I'd even tried to start a new animation, I w̶a̶s̶ am knee deep in a dumb, months long depressive phase and I knew if I was going to stick to any project, it needed to be something different (still done in macromedia Flash 8 of course though because I'm a stubborn dumbass who refuses to learn a new program). With some writing back and forths with Conner (<a href="https://littlbox.newgrounds.com" rel="nofollow">@littlbox</a>) this story came together about this horse feeling motivationally lost finding inspiration in their old passions. It's maybe a little too on the nose a representation of some idealized reality version of myself to even call this a metaphor beyond the literal details, but I tend to value emotional directness so that's what this does. idk how well it works, I hope you like it. I'm still depressed but now I've made a movie about horse and that seems okay <img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/416/iu_1416854_2475171.webp" width="764" height="442" alt="iu_1416854_2475171.webp" data-smart-scale="764,442">Huge thanks to my friends and (fucking somehow) <a href="https://www.hyperfixedpod.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Alex Goldman</a> for their voice talents, and a double thankyou to all the people in my life who've had to deal with me telling them about horse town the town where everyone is horses for the last 10 months, I love you I'm sorry for talking so much about horse town the town where everyone is horses

Positive Thinking

A boy wonders why he's so unlucky when he meets a robot pal.

What happens when a robot comes out of your face?
Robot battle. Duh. What else would it be? Damn, I certainly came a long way from my humble beginnings making the shit-tastic Resident Evil spoof when I was 13.
Made this in 2012 for my Senior Animation Thesis. Slapping this thing together in less than a year, I'm fairly happy with the result. Aside from my lil bro making the awesome music for me, and the best voice actors I could ask for(as well as damn good friends) I made this thing entirely on my own. Written, directed and animated by me. It was a maddening experience, but I tried my best.
Compressing it did take its toll, but hopefully you can sit through the sound and image quality.
Oh well, at least it's not too terrible. Enjoy the fun time. If you like robots, bathroom humor, and mindless violence, then you should like this.

Solo (NATA)

At crossroads, a man gets pushed down the wrong path.

Well, here's my submission for the NATA Novice Round! The theme was "The Elephant in the Room." There are no literal elephants here, of course. I went with the metaphor about having a large, overwhelming issue at hand (or something along the lines of that.) As far as the storyline goes, I guess this is sort of a bit of a sequel to Masquerade because it discusses another chapter in life, sort of. It is hopefully less depressing, though. The happy ending was intended from the start. In terms of the animation style, I experimented a lot with this (probably more than is initially evident.) I did a lot more frame-by-frame than usual, and although it's still pretty shaky, I think it's getting better, so that's nice. I also started using the same sort of very limited colour scheme that I did in my last video for NATA, but I quickly found that using just blues and purples looked visually boring, so I branched out a bit. Each object or character only has two or three shades of a colour, but entire scenes are now more colourful. I also went a little overboard with vignettes and colour effects overtop of the final product, but I think they help make things look less flat and more appealing. Hopefully. I also did a bunch of little 3D things in this to test out how well it could be integrated. Some things (i.e. backgrounds) fit in better than objects that move in the foreground, but it's still a learning experience. As far as music goes, as usual, I did all the music. The tracks in this are just bits and pieces of things I'm working on, so I'm not uploading them to the Audio Portal yet, but whenever I work them into standalone songs, I will. Also I got a sweet condenser microphone for my birthday so for my next video I will have no excuse to not do voices. Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. I need a weeks' break so I don't go mad from exams/finals/my job/life. Good luck to all the other competitors! Can't wait to see your stuff!
