Conquer the Foe To all those whose truth has been silenced or forgotten.— RKS _______FOREWORD:Conquer the Foe is Roadkill Studios first ever short film. It is a hand-drawn anti-incidentalist film which pays homage to classic point-and-click Flash game culture. The film began development in March 2025, and was composed, illustrated, edited, written, and published by one amateur artist. All music and artwork was created by me, although some characters and visual elements are deliberate homages to, adaptations of, or parodies of works that influenced the film. At the centre of the film is the film theory principle of anti-incidentalism. The notion that every visible character in a film must have a defined history and identity, irrespective of whether that history is immediately apparent to the viewer. The film is therefore intended to be experienced not merely as a graphic chase scene, but as insight into fragments of a larger world beyond what the viewer sees on screen. The need for a film like this is to fulfil the duty of laying the groundwork for a comprehensive anti-incidentalist narrative long term. In some respect, the "art" of anti-incidentalism is to attempt to prepare for questions that will be asked in the future. The film was created both as an exploration of this principle and as a personal homage to the visual and artistic style of 2010s Flash games. Conquer the Foe is the first major release under Roadkill Studios, and it represents the start of a wider body of work that the studio will continue to develop over time. _______ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:Hundreds of hours were dedicated to the completion of this short film. Although entirely created by one individual, we must thank the developers whose artistic influences enabled this film to be made in the first place. We thank Chriss Martin, Yan Lepage, Mario Boutin, Jo Fortier and Josee Godbout for Desolation: The Stages of Anxiety. Their work on this project is noted for the prominent grim-minimalist art style and inspiration for many character designs in the film. Stage 1 was constructed as a tribute to Desolation.Credit: <a href="https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.kongregate.com/en/games/webcypher?page=7</a> We thank Hyptosis for The Sagittarian and for his excellent hand-drawn style, which inspired the horde/chase elements of the film and several character designs, particularly in Stage 2.Credit: <a href="https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/">https://hyptosis.newgrounds.com/</a> We thank Mateusz Skutnik for Submachine, and for over 20 years of consistent artistic output and contribution to the point-and-click genre, the influence of which cannot go unnoticed for this film.Credit: <a href="https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.mateuszskutnik.com/</a> We thank Patrick Majewski for Monster Basement and its sequel. These games established an artistic vision that largely inspired Stage 2. We also thank Patrick Majewski for permission to include The Mud Vile from Monster Basement as part of this film.Credit: <a href="https://godlimations.newgrounds.com/">https://godlimations.newgrounds.com/</a> We thank Igor Stravinsky for The Rite of Spring. A composition that completely redefined modern music and paved the way for many of the film soundtracks released in the last century. From the creator:To my mentors from the conservatory — whose names have been omitted for privacy — I thank you for your knowledge and expertise in which you shared with great generosity. The role of mentor should not be undervalued, for the role they play in forming a trainee's professional (and sometimes personal) life can be profound. Their contributions both directly and indirectly have helped shape the vision of this film and will define all future Roadkill Studios productions. I remain indebted to them for their dedication, patience, and time they commit to providing guidance and mentorship. _______Stage Descriptions:<ul><li>Prelude - The point in time before any disturbance. The prelude is the calm before the storm.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 1 - The first stage is the experience of a sudden distressing event; this stage is the realisation that something has gone horribly wrong as panic sets in.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 2 - This is the stage where panic is quickly replaced by a state of blunt, numbing dissociation.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 3 - Stage three is where the density of consciousness reaches its breaking point. Sanity is erased following a flash of light, and the incomprehensible suddenly becomes known.</li></ul> <ul><li>Stage 4 - Consciousness returns hours later; the embers of the previous stages continue to burn as comprehension slowly reconsolidates. Episodes of delirium continue, with flashes of mnemonic rupture followed by further disorientation. The acute event is over but effects fluctuate over several hours.</li></ul> Support Roadkill Studios on Ko-Fi: <a href="https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://ko-fi.com/roadkillstudiosofficial</a> NOTICE: This film contains disturbing, graphic, and mature material. Do you ever consider how fragile you are?

Do you ever consider that you are a machine? So one of the things I do aside from make animations is work on tools for making art with code. This is an attempt at making something with those tools. All the visuals are coded up using p5.js, an open-source graphics library I help maintain, within butter.video (my day job!), a browser-based motion graphics editor where you can write and edit graphics code in a timeline. <img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/641/iu_1641358_2731551.webp" alt="iu_1641358_2731551.webp" data-smart-scale="764,463">For a long time I've wanted something like Flash to exist again where you can pop open the Actions panel and write some code, and also continue to edit on the timeline, and that's basically what Butter can do now for p5.js code! Since this is primarily useful for motion graphics rather than character animation, I made something that can be mostly motion graphics. Is the spoken word cringe? Maybe a bit! But we could all use to be a bit more cringe sometimes.

Motion graphic thing to learn after effects

I hate to admit it but I have been sleeping on After Effects. Definitely much better working with 2D stuff in there than Blender or Godot or trying to write motion graphics with code with Motion Canvas like I've done before. I still used Blender for &amp; Godot rendering some 3D planet stuff because I didn't feel like experimenting with the After Effects 3D tools just yet. And Godot will probably be a main stay as I really love the shader &amp; rigging setup I have in there!

Erjansk is an upcoming horror indie animated show with no budget

Erjansk is an upcoming indie animated show with no budget, but a passionate team of small, talented creators. It is a stop-motion horror comedy mixed with 3D, 2D and live-action elements. 🩸Support the show and its creator:<a href="https://buymeacoffee.com/victoransxd" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">https://buymeacoffee.com/victoransxd</a> Done as part of my Master's degree thesis film at Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, Faculty of New Media Arts, Graphics, Multimedia Communication in February, 2026 Upcoming Pilot’s description:A man seeks stability in an announcement board with job offers and ends up discovering something seemingly too good to be true. This leads to him finding out the real lengths he needs to take in order earn the pay: “At The Meatgrinders’“ cook vacancy interview requires him to cook meals that utilize “family” recipes to prove his culinary worth… easy enough? Show premise:The story of Erjansk is about consequence of unlimited power given to man and its capabilities. The city of Erjansk, roots of which lay in medieval ancient times, is now stuck in a soviet-like time period, where progress is punished and evolution had long been paused. The city, smelling of urine and rot - now a playground for beings with godlike abilities called The Other. They come in many forms, usually inspired by the mundane, twisted into something absurd and nightmarish to turn basic human experiences into hell. Human meat is just food, and the skin is no different to cloth or wallpaper. Human suffering is but a trial, a gateway to become just like them. They can wipe out all life but simply choose not to, for it would no longer bring amusement, and pain and suffering is the only thing left that allows them to truly grasp it. To the average erjan - every move may result in death, restarting of life cycle, and every daily activity may end up being their last. ERJANSK: Indie Animated Show Opening Scene Preview (PILOT)

Chainsaw Man sequence made for my After Effects assignment

Made this Chainsaw Man title sequence for an After Effects assignment in uni! Being an After Effects noob I'm pretty happy with how this one turned outMusic by my mate!

Chainsaw Man Title Sequence

This is the fourth episode of Roasted Meatloaf, originally made in 2019 (just like 2 and 3.) This animation gets a bit more ambitious, though it doesn't always have the best results. This episode was kind of a struggle in its original development due to some stuff shaking up production. Initially there were some very direct audio and visual references to copyrighted material involved, but those were removed or replaced before the original version was rendered because it was around that time that I started getting more concerned about copyright and related stuff. For this version, I actually made a minor additional change to help dodge some potential personality/publicity rights issues. I don't know if it's likely for me to get in a scenario related to that, but I try to lean on the side of caution. Additionally, because I had moved to a new computer in the middle of development and didn't get GIMP reinstalled for some reason (I was still a kid and had to have my dad install things via admin password), I decided to complete the rest of the graphics using Inkscape (which I did have installed for some reason.) I guess it was good to start getting into Inkscape because I would eventually employ it more in future episodes, but it does create a bit of a weird shift in the animation's appearance after a certain point. I tried to create more complex character movements for the parts where the "Santa" character approaches, which led to some mixed results. I think some animations turned out pretty decently, though other ones have some pretty obvious errors and I probably could have done them better if I made this today. Not to mention the sort of continuity issues with the character's appearance. Other visual flaws in this episode include some rather egregious examples of inconsistent aspect ratios and a bit of poor compositing. It was with this episode that I started branching out beyond recording myself flipping through an image viewer and re-recording sped-up versions of initial recordings by making use of qStopMotion to animate some parts. As the name of the software suggests, qStopMotion is primarily intended for stop motion animations as it is derived from another application called Stopmotion. However, I found it rather suitable for animating my digital images in sequences. The video quality gets a little weird in some parts, as if it's ripped from some degraded videotape or film reel. This wasn't intentional, but rather part of some weird rendering issues with the original. That original process was rather complicated as it took the effort of two different programs, Pitivi and OpenShot, to get some things the way I wanted. The renders for this version had even more problems with quality degradation, so alongside Clipchamp I had to employ the help of Blender's video editor to get a cleaner export. I didn't necessarily have time to clean everything up however. Since both of my grandmothers (the one on my dad's side and the one on my mom's side) had passed away before December of 2019, I decided to put a thing honoring them in the credits (well, after them is actually a bit more accurate, but you know what I mean.) That's all I got to say for right now. Enjoy if you would like, don't if you wouldn't like. Merry Christmas and whatever else people celebrate this month.

I'd like to specify this is NOT the first episode of Sintax, but rather its first short. The difference is that shorts are shorter than the main episodes and aren't necessarily connected to the main plot. I decided to make them a thing as an excuse for wolrd building and to give people something when main episodes are being worked on. With that being said, hopefully y'all won't have too wait too long for the first legit episode, especially now that my art skills have improved.
