Nighttime with Ru 🌙

A cozy-ish cabin scene with a few spooky characters doing small things in the background.

Here's an animation I rendered in Blender 4.1. It's a cozy-ish nighttime cabin scene with a few spooky characters reading or doing small things in the background, along with some spooky music playing and some ambient fire crackling sounds (basically mimicking those lo-fi videos a bit). The characters are Karaka and Kiduna, both by an artist called Merafume. The models were made by Sumsnermin. I used a procedural toon flame material for the fire This animation was actually made last year for Halloween , but all of the materials and modifiers that the models had were a lot for this meh-level computer to handle. Rendering it took over 70 hours total over about a month of separate sessions. I couldn't meet the Halloween deadline, so I saved the video for the next year. Rights/Credit to their respective owners. Hello everyone! Here's another TrouserToons animation! From this point forward, I want to try and "refine" my animation more, experimenting with backgrounds, facial expressions, and more. So now, I decided to (sort of) redesign the Nesmith house and finally give Sunshine, Myla, and Bully houses too! (they're neighbors now lol). I hope you enjoy the animation! (This one actually took me a lot longer than I expected since I actually redrew the characters this time lmao). Night driving 🌒 🚐 💨

Welcome, all who venture here!So much time has passed ever since I uploaded my first animation ever (that one pixel animation from ages past). But now that I have reconsidered animating again, I have finally chosen to pursue it seriously. To those who are out of the loop, nearly two weeks ago, I wrote a very lengthy letter ("A Note To Self") congratulating one of my animator friends on reaching a new subscriber milestone. I was really at a low point both physically and mentally, all because I couldn't stop comparing myself to others, and I couldn't simply forgive myself for so many misdeeds I had committed before. So many missed projects, so many ideas wasted simply because I "weren't in the mood". But with what I had done for the entirety of last week, I can now bid farewell to all that negativity, and leave the past where it belongs. This Miniature compilation is the first one, a milestone in a long and winding path. All the way back in late January, I had my first chance to animate after so long. Stuck in a room, with my little sibling, I grabbed a stylus, turned on my phone, and started this journey. Thank goodness it was nighttime, and even though the lunar new year fireworks were certainly loud, our room was silent enough not to wake him up. If only I could keep up that pace and animate some more...Fast forward two months. I woke up to a commotion. Thousands of voices, all around a very familiar face. A man with white hair and beard was in the center of it. He was a director in his studio, whose animations made our childhood. I could never forget him, even after years had passed since the last time I watched his films. And yet, he was at the center of this giant controversy. Curious, I looked up, and realized that he was at the mercy of an utterly deplorable enemy of creativity. All of his works, once taking years to create, now could be "generated" at the click of a button. And the world could only watch, as thousands of pictures, artworks, films... soon were "remade" in his style. However, the world did not simply watch. Creators everywhere soon condemned this bastardization and commodification of creativity. Some even took things into their own hands and drew their own work, taking honest inspirations from him, with honest effort. Seeing this giant battle unfold before my eyes, a passion, long sealed inside the deep and dark corners of my mind, was suddenly rekindled. This time, I sit before my tablet, free of all distractions. I wanted to tell them, those who brazenly stood against the "tide of change", that I wanted to contribute, even if my contributions are small and unseen. And before I knew it, a week had passed, and I had done things that I could never have expected before. My mind harked back to that very lengthy letter I wrote. That letter... perhaps was the universe's calling for me to rise up from darkness, and fight for what I had once lost. So, to whatever force that allowed me to compose that letter, thank you. You had allowed me to finally realize myself for what I truly am, and cast asunder all those delusions that once defined "my life". Moreover, I am also grateful for every creator - every composer, animator, artist... whose work I had referenced and used in my creations, for they are the living proof that creation is an irreplaceable means of self-expression, that no algorithm or machine can ever "generate".I hope you enjoy this animation compilation of mine. There may be mistakes, and shortcomings that I will have to address in the future, but what is certain is that this is an honest effort that I offer to you. Thank you for supporting me, and for showing me a greater way of life.I may not be famous, but I would rather be honest. Let us preserve this honesty, now and forever.
