Battle For The Video Game Episode 1 let's get this video game on the road

An animatic/storyboard based on the Wrath of the Sun OCT

Please read the Audition and the first Round here for further context. Program used is Clip Studio Paint EX (v1.13) Round 3 Author's Notes: This took the better part of six weeks to get set. I went into this wanting to focus more on my comic skills, but due to the combination of a shorter round-than-audition time and my own limited time outside of work, I made a last minute decision of doing an animatic as I did a quick one in-between rounds. This way, I was able to get enough story and character interaction to where I felt satisfied with how it played out. There's certainly room to grow, but I think this was both fun and exciting to do. :] Also, for those who are curious, the various monster sounds were both from Dead Space (2008) Slashers and Monster Hunter's Odagaron characters (and one fun scream from Bloodborne's Blood Starved Beast).

Franklin has an idea to get more money in the shop

VOODOO VIDS EPISODE 3: THE CLAW! Well here we are with the third short! This one was a lot of fun to work on this past week. I'll go into more details below as there will be spoilers if you haven't watched it yet. But thank you so much for the support! Newgrounds saw potential in the first episode and gave it a front page position. Truly thankful for that opportunity, and i'm really happy that the short has found some fans. I've been receiving some great messages and really am enjoying meeting others in the indie animation scene. OK, on with the the details. Spoilers from this point on. THE STORYThis third short is based on true events. I was out celebrating a friends birthday and there was an arcade, a claw machine contained these capybara toys, I just really wanted to win one but the machine wouldn't hand it over. My partner decided she would make it her mission to get it for me and i'm happy to say she returned to the arcade the next day and did get it as a surprise, and i'm now a proud owner of a capybara holding a smiling pineapple. FRANKLINWe saw Franklin in the 2nd short briefly. But this time he's made his debut. Franklin is a positive happy guy that just wants to help in anyway he can.. sometimes, he makes mistakes but that's ok. I find BIG characters are a fun contrast to the smallness of Thalia. Having a range of character sizes makes for a more visually dynamic cast and I love how Franklin is essentially Frankenstiens monster wearing bowling shirts and sandals. He's a lovable dude and I can't wait to make more with him. WRITING COMEDYProbably the hardest thing to write because it's just so subjective and i'm not a super confidant writer of anything. The first two shorts required the viewer to have some external knowledge of films like Twilight and Terrifier 3 to really land as intended. So this time I wanted to make the comedy as self contained as it can be. This ones for everyone, or at least I tried my best to write it that way. Some of the greatest comedies ever written stick close to what most people can relate to, Faulty Towers with its husband & wife running a business angle, IT crowd with its office antics... THE OFFICE itself! all of those are relatable character driven sitcoms. As well as referencing popculture from time to time, I need to remember that the writing will land best if it serves what people KNOW. So going forward I hope to lean into that more. and when all else fails? slapstick... Tom the cat getting hit in the face with a frying pan never fails. THE SHOPThe Voodoo Vids building itself is somewhere I want the viewer to desire to go. it's warm, inviting, filled with interesting things. It likely smells of stale coffee and hot CRT's and plastic video cases. I've seen every inch of it because I built everything in it, but the viewers haven't, So I try to get a few establishing shots in there to show the place from different angles. Getting that feeling of "I wish I could go to a place like Voodoo Vids" across more without sapping the pace. I just love strong establishing shots, combined with a nice piece of music, it sets the tone for the rest of it. There is a lot more to see inside, but we'll get to that in a future episode. SILLY VOICESI've done voice work before but for comerical purposes. Yes... I've literally been the guy that says"BUT WAIT! There's more" and I still do that, but I've wanted to get into character work for a while, so I'm using my own project as an excuse to have fun and explore that side of things too.I promise i'll get new voices in for future episodes... i'm no Hank Azaria and i'm looking forward to working with more people. SOME TECHNICAL STUFFThe Capybara world machine was fun to make BUT it was a headache at times. Between the claw rigging, and parenting to the control box, and the fricken CORD on the claw OMG... That was a fiddly thing to get looking right. A lot of trial and error but I settled on a bezier curve and used "hook to" constraints. It does the trick and that's good enough! The Capybara toy itself is a real toy, so I used my own as reference to make the model. I drew the machine artwork in Photoshop and brought it in as an image texture. and to finish off the machines aesthetics I composed its chiptune jingle using a website called "beepbox", if you want to make cool chip tunes and muck about with it, it's a great tool!I was going to model some coins for Victor to use, but I decided it was a detail I could cut to save time, and I don't think it would impact the visual impact by not having that in there. ON great tools a friend told me about WIGGLYPAINT which is the tool I used to draw the squiggly doodles of the characters in the credits. I love how fun they are. FINAL NOTEAside from my partner doing voice work and helping me recording foley sounds I'm working on the animation alone. It's tough but seeing the end result is so satisfying. And if others are enjoying it too then that's even better! Doing this lets me take on all aspects of a production and being indies, we get to just MAKE stuff without having to pass it around a boardroom for sign off on the dirt texture on the glass of the capybara machine. Thanks for the support, thank you for watching, and I look forward to hopefully making you laugh again real soon.

Voodoo Vids - #3 The Claw

A short film about a captain who underestimates a monster. An animation exercise

Few parts of the animation were surprisingly challenging. The ocean movement and waves were fun to animate, but the boat shots required a bit more thought. Since the boat is drawn in 2D and not a real 3D object, rotating and changing angles had to be done manually to keep the illusion working. For example, when the boat tilts and the camera angle changes, I had to adjust the drawing so it feels like the boat is turning in space, even though it's really just a flat drawing. The top-down shot of the boat was also tricky. As the camera pulls away, the captain had to look upward toward the viewer, and the cabin needed a slight backward tilt. In the real world you would naturally see a bit more of the top surfaces when the camera moves farther away, so I had to fake that perspective shift in 2D. Interestingly, the sea monster itself wasn't the hardest part. The most challenging bit was actually the water splash when the monster emerges from the ocean. Getting the motion of the water to feel energetic and believable took a lot more tweaking than I expected.Everything in this animation was created using Arttista, a 2D illustration and animation tool that I built myself. I've been using projects like this to experiment with different animation workflows and features while developing it. Music by Armin Jusuframić, performed 2025, https://arminjmusic.com/Thank you so much for this fantastic dark ambient reinterpretation! The original version of this comic-animatic was drafted around 2010. Dead Space was the game that motivated me to buy my first proper gaming computer back in the 2010s.Back then, during a gaming party with some friends, one of them introduced us to Dead Space which he played in his Xbox 360. I was Blown away. I was unaware of the advancements in horror gaming and loved the immersive environment and creature designs. So I started saving for both a custom gaming computer from a small PC building business(a Rig which would also serve me for art and design) and a physical copy at an Office Depot (I didn't know of Steam until the sequel came out). While I was setting apart the money to buy my gaming rig, thanks to the immense hype and anticipation I started drawing the original version of this comic. This scenario was drawn thanks to the lore that my friend who owned the game at the time, told us while he was playing, and I also listened to the lullaby posted here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpYz4EQVo1w&list=RDbpYz4EQVo1w&start_radio=1, Something to note is that, prior to drafting the original version I didn't see the marketing trailer, I didn't watch other gameplays or youtube videos, I didn't check the Wikia, and the character references for drawing were scarce on the internet. As you see that version was left incomplete. I was lacking some art skills, and the figures and books from the game were not very available in my country until much, much later. I got my PC and my game and forgot about it for a long while. I picked up this fan art piece, after many years as it was a fun exercise in graphic narrative, and now I learned a bit of extra skills to properly finish comics. For the storytelling, I took inspiration from the Lullaby and used the lyrics as symbolisms to narrate the sequence within these pages. This is the tought process and break-down of the panels you see: Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star (glowing eyes)How I wonder what you are (a lifeform, a necromorph)Up above the world so high (necromorph falls from the ceiling)Like a diamond in the sky (Necromorph's glowing eye+ The Miner looking up)When the blazing sun is gone, (Sun=Miner's life)When the nothing shines upon, (Darkness=Miner's death)Then you show your little light (Little light=Infector's Proboscis, sign of reincarnation/life, tunnel of light while dying or near death)Twinkle, twinkle, all the night. (All the night=Time Passing, transformation ongoing, preparing to return to life as a new form) Then the traveler in the dark, (Isaac)Thanks you for your little spark, (living monster=uncleared area )He could not see which way to go, (path unexplored, exit level is near)If you did not twinkle so. (if Isaac didn't find a living Necromorph) When the blazing sun is gone, (Marker blocks sunlight)When the nothing shines upon, (Darkness=Marker is the source of the nightmare)Though I know not what you are, (the necromorph looming behind)Twinkle, twinkle, little star. (necromorph glowing eyes, little star= a lifeform) I haven't checked newest sources or lore expansion to see if what I "saw" in the lyrics was accurate to the story's representation XD. But still, wanted to finish this. Thanks so much for watching! I hope to get/play the reboot and buy its artbook soon!

Cripple Kane confronts the corrupt sheriff 'Blind-eye Bill' in an epic western showdown.

"Cripple Kane confronts the corrupt sheriff 'Blind-eye Bill' in an epic western showdown." WATCH THE COOL CREDIT SEQUENCE AT THE END! So. I started this in late April/early May of 2008. It all started when 'Decade Studios' Perry, a Newgrounds user friend of mine, sent me a song and said "This song reminded me of you". That Song was "A Gringo Like Me". Instantly I started animating the very beginning of this video, just as a fun little project. This fun little project expanded and expanded to turn into the ambitious monster that this movie is. All these ideas for the video came to mind. Make some sort of ultimate western extravaganza. Only problem is, I had always had trouble animating horses. That's what put this project on hold for so long. But thanks to ZekeySpaceyLizard, he jumped in and helped me with some horse legs on a front shot movieclip. That was basically the wall breaker and I wasn't stuck anymore. Basically yesterday i sat down and animated essentially the second half of this movie. determined to finish this once and for all... It was hell... and by God am I thrilled to say it's complete. Stylistically what I had in mind for this when I was animating was to try and give a western movie the old 1960's-1970's kung fu style of cinematography. with Westerns usually having a slow and tense pace. I decided to try and give it that in your face, zany sort of action. Well. I don't care, it's done. I just gave birth to an overweight baby. Dim the light, I hope you enjoy.-HVH Special Thanks to Perry, he's the one who showed me the song and started it all. And Kevin Barrios (Buzzwerd) for bitching at me to finish this thing and tolerating me sending him every frame of updates.

The following stuff are failed collab entries, cancelled projects, anal sex... I got this concerning this: "My god !!!!
Ok, it's me or you're cancelled project are better quality that anything I see before from you ?
Man ! This video truly show you're better in not-porn animation, you must be kidding me ! Too sad for my libido part, lol !!
But even a lot of porn parts of this animation is better quality and... (a... how do you say ?) "smoothness" is much more better !
It's been a default in your precedent animations : sometimes you loose on smoothness or proportions regularity... no, not good, not proportions : on... hummm... "shape's credibility". Yeah. fluidity and shapes precision was a point of improvment, in your style, but this video show you evolve a lot more faster than I expect, on those points !
I'm really surprise, you know !
Lol, I think I better make more details, because I think you will not trust me :
- the first knight fight : nothing impressive from your initial style.
- the sucking : much more smoothly and better drawn than other PT style ! Can be more smoother, yeah, and the hair go to high in the air to be "credible", but better quality after all ! I see it on the nose, lol ^^
- frustration space brawler : THAT'S the astonishing quality part !!!! Smoothness, shapes, animations, shadding, everything almost perfect ! The rocketeer girl really impress me, because I make a game with hundreds of playable races. On of them was rocketeer nation, with those kind of girls !!! Look like I was not the only one to have the idea, lol. The shadow monster put me on my knees too, as the fighting style of the big yellow thing after that.
- dynanimations things : not amazing part, not good enough face to your initial style, done too quickly, too badly. That's just my opinion ^^ Motions stay impressive, but that's your strong point, as I say before ^^
- PT machine fetish : better than any precedent PT, on quality !!
- music video : very very amazing on smoothness of the parachutist scene. The rest is equivalent to your other PT quality, not worse, not far more better. I see a progress on "background set", too ^^
- Metal gear collab : impressive. Much more better than usual things ! Set is far more better mastered, too.
- A.... shit, I forget. Yeah, santa claus : funny as hell ! seems incomplete, and background set and image composition look false (like mine I mean : you got the elements, but it seems they are not really in the good place in the image, lol ^^). I laugh at the "drop the tree, santa !", looool ^^
- All the PT scene lack of smoothness, even if you put more images than before (and that's a good thing). But I understand : as you are not playing with static shapes like me, drawing each time a new picture entirely, it's huge and harassive work ! ^^ But the quality of shapes and details is improved, and I can see it clearly !
- I forget the other things (I see the entire videos for ten times, now), but I think you got the idea : you improve faster, and better on non-porn animations !" From Chastan

The Defeatist Reel

In reality, truth is only believed by a single individual.

In reality, truth is only percepted in its own way by a single individual. According to the less realist trends in philosophy, such as postmodernism/post-struct uralism, truth is subjective. When two or more individuals agree upon the interpretation and experience of a particular event, a consensus about an event and its experience begins to be formed. This being common to a few individuals or a larger group, then becomes the 'truth' as seen and agreed upon by a certain set of people - the consensus reality. Thus one particular group may have a certain set of agreed truths, while another group might have a different set of consensual 'truths'. This lets different communities and societies have varied and extremely different notions of reality and truth of the external world. The religion and beliefs of people or communities are a fine example of this level of socially constructed 'reality'. Truth cannot simply be considered truth if one speaks and another hears because individual bias and fallibility challenge the idea that certainty or objectivity are easily grasped. For Anti-realists, the inaccessibility of any final, objective truth means that there is no truth beyond the socially-accepted consensus. (Although this means there are truths, not truth). But of course as a whole, modern thinking will only rely on what is seen and not what is thought of. So here's some specs before we start. 3 months of labor intensive work
