Steamboat Willie, but it's Kim the Potato—my first rhythm-based animation.

I think you know which animation I based this on—*Steamboat Willie*, the first sound cartoon featuring Mickey Mouse. I decided to make this because I was stuck on my second short film and wanted to test out the rhythm. At first, I made it too fast and tried to slow the tempo down, but I eventually fixed it—though I feel like it glitches a bit at the end. If that doesn't bother you, please leave a star rating and share your thoughts in the comments.Link to YouTube: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx3tnNjDgIk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx3tnNjDgIk</a>Link to Rutube: <a href="https://rutube.ru/video/5b491389ebc370eef6823927fad56c21/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://rutube.ru/video/5b491389ebc370eef6823927fad56c21/</a>

Stick fight let's goooo! Hi guys I decided to make this cool stick fight on Rice and beans. This was my first real attempt on making a stick fight full animation. This was originally going to take a few days, but it ended up turning into a month or two. This was a really fun project to work on and I'm glad its out now! Hope you guys enjoy :D [Music]Odjbox -Ebony RhapsodyDyalla - No Rush Check out the socials!YouTube: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@cyberanims?sub_confirmation=1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.youtube.com/@cyberanims</a>Twitter: <a href="https://x.com/CyberAnims" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://x.com/CyberAnims</a>

Rice and Beans

This is a turnaround of my very first 3D project. The assignment was for us to create a 3D model of a character on Blender, but there is no need to make it overly complex. Since I didn't have any experience in 3D animation, I chose to make my model based on the lucky cat since it's simple, cute, and doesn't require too many layers. Now making the model was by no means easy, but I stuck through the hardships and this is the best I can offer.

Character Head: Lucky Cat

wow...pink is just so...*gulps* h-h-HOT!!!!

Now, this is just a effed up animation. I don't know what type of sick BASTARD would even consider animating such gross humor. It makes me sick to my stomach knowing there's people out there creating such things like this. The asshole can't even animate vomit correctly. (no but seriously I tried 3 times doing the vomit I'm gonna try to learn how to animate liquids more often thank you for watching.)

Weirdo tries to socialize with white stick figures.

This is why you shouldn't socialize with white stick figures... But thankfully you can always kill them with your laser eyes. I'm still finding out what works or not for these animations, so this one can be very weird.(I tried adding dialogue for this one, but then I realized that I'm bad at acting and then it was too late... They're just speaking gibberish for the whole thing anyways.) <blockquote>Sound effects taken from <a href="https://pixabay.com/sound-effects/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pixabay</a>.</blockquote><blockquote>Stupid voices by me.</blockquote> <blockquote>Also uploaded to <a href="https://youtu.be/KmXxTRVpYp8?si=rETqf_Bzjyvartk-" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">YouTube</a>.</blockquote>

What's up, everyone? Frost here. First of all, on YouTube and other social media, I'll go by Frost. Here I'm still BlizzardDemon, cause I don't want to waste money on changing my nickname. And second, I'm re-releasing this SoulCalibur 3 stick figure animation of mine because I wasn't really satisfied with the previous video. It felt a bit poorly stylized and lacked dynamism. So, I made some changes and video edits. Here's an improved version—at least, that's what I think. Follow me for more animations See ya^^

In Minecraft, Cool guy with weird skin is sick of zombies, so he makes a trap. It works so well, he made some more traps off camera. Don’t ask why he’s so geared up. He’s built like that. The thumbnail was made in ibis paint X and the animation was made in FlipaClip.

At long last, here's a new TrouserToons episode! I honestly wasn't expecting this episode to be over 9 minutes long, but what can you do? XD. Unlike the past few, this one isn't actually based on a specific old episode concept or anything, but rather I came up with it since I realized that Ethan never really had a proper full episode to himself. His biggest roles have mostly just been as either a side character or in shorts. I mean, look at the other kid characters. Johnnie, Janie, Myla, Sunshine, Emma, Maddie, and even Coco had all gotten full episodes to themselves. A "day in the limelight", if you will. It's really only Ethan who got the short end of the stick here. Bully might be a close second, but even he still had his moments. So, I decided to fix that! I decided to make an episode where I pair Ethan and Bully together! Since... well, it's a character pairing that I don't think I've ever done before XD. So, here's the end result! I hope you all enjoy! TrouserToons - Ethan's Visit

An animated short written and directed by Matthew Davidson.

Back in 2021, when I was a student at high school, and after working on Two Friends, I made another short called Animal Rescue. It's an original short with its original characters and story and sort of inspired by the Peppa Pig episode "The Flying Vet", but is not an adaptation of any previous material or related to it in terms of plot. Also, it's the final of two of my finest animated shorts with limited animation and stick figure character designs before moving forward to drawing with dimension and learning the twelve principles of animation.

A proof of concept for an original series

"Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality." Alice and Lucky the White Rabbit make it their personal mission to dismantle the order imposed on Wonderland by the Queen of Hearts and her 5 generals. This is a story I've had swimming around in my head for a while and I used it as an opportunity to try out Blender's 2D animation toolset. It was a steep learning curve but it turned out to be a productive experiment. I'll probably stick with Adobe Animate for future products but it's nice to know there is a viable, free alternative available. I plan on making more micro episodes (30-60 seconds long) of Wonderland Shakedown but really wanted to make a stand alone opening sequence first. The music is an original track called "Sunrise" created by Future Baby.

Introducing Jiliya (Jill-lie-ah)! She's a brave woman, determined to get what she wants at whatever cost (but not her life), making her a bit reckless at times. She can be very judgemental to others, and rather do things on her own to get to the finish line as smooth as possible. As seen in the last episode, she's on an escort mission to get her missing partner back, but things take a turn when Stick-man's caught in the crossfire! Maybe he can lead her to her partner faster...? dez and andy are just being friends right now.

i resolved to complete three animations this year. halfway through july, i've finally finished the first. as usual, this was pretty much a one-man show, from writing the script to character and set design to voice acting to photography and editing. that being said, the final 5 seconds of audio is from Kevin MacLeod's free music library. the song is called "peaceful desolation". ideally, i'd have written something to play there myself, but i was sick of this project slow cooking on the back-burner and just wanted to be done.

Temper Dogs Episode 2 is finally here! Enjoy!

Temper Dogs is a series I made featuring Abigail, the leader of the pack and they have to deal with their archenemies, King Billy Cat who wants to break up the pack. In this episode, there is an outbreak called "The Common Cold X" created by the Virus King and his minions who infected the entire universe with it and the worst part, it is deadly, it is up to Dr. Gil (Creator Mary's dad) to save the day! I used real sound effects from my summer cold this year for this animation. I used my own sick voice for the characters to see how long the animation needs to be.

Star Wars 2: The Empire Returns Back Again: A Star Wars Story

I realized I had never uploaded this animation to Newgrounds. Or at least I don't think I did. I made this in 2020 throughout the whole year based on a rough stick figure plan I made in 2017. In 2015 I had made an animation based on A New Hope and that one is not very good. I lost the original thumbnail, it can be found on Youtube. I like this one more in hindsight. All the music is either in the public domain or original to this very cartoon. I'm sorry about the long intro, forgive me.

BREAK TO THE BREAK OF DAWN!This is the music video I made for my latest track; <a href="https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1579428">Break of Dawn!</a> Finally a new track! :D I have spent some time on this here and there between jobs, and the track has gone through many stages of development. But it ended up here, at the break of dawn! The video is made entirely in after-effects, with licensed stock videos of dancers, and an ungodly amount of custom filters, layers, animation and audio expression controls. I took inspiration from ATARI graphics. I wanted to see how low I could make it while still being visually clear that these are dancers - using only 32x64 pixel width (64 since its widescreen). But I locked in, dug deep.... ANNND stayed up animating and editing until 4am.... i'm tired. but I'm super proud of this special! I hope you love it too. I love low poly style and although I don't stick strictly to a lot of rules surrounding the more stricter side of things with resolutions and pixel densities. Voodoo Vids is set in a world that is largely made up of low poly models I spent 2 years making. I felt I had to participate in an event that is celebrating it. Wow I didn't think I would have made it this hard for myself. The idea was conjured.... i'd say last minute, It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do within the Voodoo Vids World to celebrate the art style. I didn't BEGIN animating a single shot on this until June 3rd. I had the script, voices recorded, props made, but 3 days to animate, edit, sound, music? am I insane? Turns out I am.What ensued was solid days and nights of animating and pushing my comfort zone. I also chose this SHORT time window to try to improve the animation where I could, I hope some will notice a step up in that area. I could have refined more, I could actually tweak and add to this forever, but you have to draw a line and with the deadline looming I couldn't keep adding or making alterations. Episode 5 is still in the works, and more is coming but for now, I want to say thank you to Newgrounds! And thank you to all that have supported Voodoo Vids! Please check out my other socials too, I'd love to get Voodoo Vids to a wider audience and your likes, comments, shares go SUCH a long way. I'm aware that many people may not have seen the original Evil Dead movie. And you don't need to have seen it to have some fun in this episode, but there are a lot of references here that are connected to the Evil Dead series. If you want some more context before watching, maybe check out the last edition of the <a href="https://voodoovids.newgrounds.com/news/post/1619729">Spooky Zine</a>. ABOUT THE SPOOKY ZINEThe spooky zine is a once a month mini mag that explores some more of the local lore and connects with the episodes and world of voodoo vids in a way that's external to the animation. They are a bit of fun, but also can contain wider context for viewers that want to have some additional context. Or maybe you just want to read more about what's happening in the wider universe. A LOVE LETTER TO EVIL DEADThis episode is a love letter to Evil Dead and nods to the horror classic in certain ways I hope you would find nostalgic and at the same time, perhaps encourage some new people to seek out The Evil dead movies if you haven't seen them. You have to have a passion for old school splatter gore horror. But it's got a great blend of gore and comic styled over the top supernatural elements that are sure to delight, and Bruce Campbell is just brilliant as Ash Williams. I'm super excited to learn that there are rumors Bruce may even return to the movies in some capacity. I know currently Bruce is battling cancer, which is awful news, but as he said himself, "Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch".I along with many fans are wishing him a good battle and hope he gets well soon! I'd love to see him on the big screen in Evil Dead again! Beyond this point there will be episode 4 spoilers so return to read the rest after you've seen the episode. <img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586325_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586325_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317"> BEHIND THE SCENES OF EPISODE 4This episode took a lot longer to make than the others, I hope that shows and also thank you for your patience. The script went through a few re writes and last minute changes that extended the runtime. Having every character in a single episode comes with more challenges, making sure to give each of them a good scene. But I think it was worth it as if you like any character in particular they are all present in this one. THAT ICONIC INTROIf you are familiar with Evil Dead you will have noticed I did my best to pay homage to the opener from Evil Dead 2 that explains the Necronomicon's origins. Making that was so much fun, animating the front cover of the book, combining it with some stock footage of an ocean that I tinted red, and for the "ink effect" on the page reveals I used some simple track mattes of real ink drop footage to do that. I love how it turned out.I also did the narration in the intro, I rearranged elements of the original script to work better with the set up for this parody. My goal was to allow people who've never heard of, or watched Evil dead to get up to speed as quickly as possible with the idea that "this book is bad news" TECHNICAL STUFFOne of the biggest challenges is creating new environments and props. Something you see on screen for a few seconds in a few shots has had to be created from scratch. Some times I over engineer stuff too and I probably could've made the chainsaw without an actually animated chain... but because I did, It allowed me to get some cool camera angles of it in action.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586351_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586351_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,317"> Same can be said for the shotgun that Franklin is using. it is based of the same model they used in Evil Dead 2, the original film Ash used a single barreled Winchester, but the sequel it was a 12 guage double barrel Stevens model, and later in the 3rd movie it was a double barrel Stoeger Coach Gun, which is lovingly referred to now as "The Boomstick"Ash famously saws the barrel off in Evil Dead 2. Of course I needed a forest. Not any easy set to build but I made it easy by cutting a lot of corners, the whole forest set is just a simple plane with a particle system placing tree images randomly across the surface.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586349_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586349_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,495">I made it within an hour and the lighting is doing most of the heavy lifting. which is again fairly simple. I like my renders to not take AGES. Most of the animation scenes take about 4-5 seconds per frame. So the forest was as basic as it needed to be. Paul's date cutaway was another external set that required a suburban feel to it. so I modeled some simple houses and kept camera angles to a minimum and focused only on what I needed. it was a very short scene so keeping the set small was important... but I could probably use it again in future should the need arise.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586352_28415006.webp" alt="iu_1586352_28415006.webp" data-smart-scale="764,295">Voodoo Vids itself as a set is the biggest and most detailed because I wanted a space where I can point the camera pretty much anywhere and have a great shot. A lot of time was spent on that, but it still needs work and more will come to the set eventually. Another huge time save has been using multiple cameras within the same scene and swapping between them. traditionally I would've worked on one scene per camera shot, but using Blenders camera marker system I can have multiple cameras that I can cut to whenever I need. so I can animate the whole scene in one blend file. This also makes it easier to alter small parts or fix things in post easier without having to dig through a load of different scene files. MUFFINMuffin the Dog was referenced in the <a href="https://voodoovids.newgrounds.com/news/post/1619729">Spooky Zine</a> and fun fact, he is voiced by our own dog Podrick. Recording his various noises is fun. To get his taco crunching sounds we used a Poppadom, he very much enjoys working with us when there's food involved.<img src="https://img.ngfiles.com/image-uploads/000/001/586/iu_1586356_28415006.jpg" alt="iu_1586356_28415006.jpg" data-smart-scale="764,764">The next two episodes will probably be a little shorter again too not keep the gaps too long between them. AND for the finale there's going to be another great addition to the page that you can all experience and join in. more on that soon.We may even see some more new characters too!!
