Homestar Choke Zony To Dead (fan animation)

The clock counts down your freedom... Listen to 'Timber Heart Silence' & step

"They existed before humans learned to name the darkness. And they waited—patient, silent, immortal—until you stepped through the door." 🕯️
You arrived in Mina drömmars stad, the City of Dreams, with nothing but a single, battered bag carrying eighteen years of loneliness from one orphanage to another. You walked past the frozen cobblestone streets, beneath the fading orange-tiled roofs weathered by sea salt and heavy moss, looking for a place to disappear. And then, Mrs. Ann found you. She brought you here, into this hallway of muted emerald walls and the faint, deceptive comfort of dried chamomile and simmering tea. Under the warm, golden glow of the chandelier, the madness of the world outside seems to fade away. Here, you allow yourself to believe you are safe. You allow yourself to warm your bleeding fingers by the hearth and pretend that you are not running from a fate too monstrous to comprehend. But do not let the quiet fool you. Listen closely to 'Timber Heart Silence'. Beneath the comforting melody lies a suffocating stillness. The grandfather clock in the corner doesn't just count the hours—it counts the remaining heartbeats of your freedom. Every heavy tick is a warning. Every shadow stretching along the staircase is a reminder that the safety of this house is nothing but borrowed time. Outside, the chilling fog is creeping under the floorboards, and the velvet snare of the Matchmaker's shop is already tightening around your soul. You were not chosen because you are strong. You were chosen because you are the only one who can look into the eyes of the entity waiting in the dark, and not bow your head. The hearth is fading. The clock is ticking. Will you find a true home within these walls, or will you let the shadows rewrite your mind? The playable Demo of Wandering Relics is officially live. RE:CRITSMAS [The G0ATFAC3 Comments]

A "modern" spin on the 1996 Donkey Kong 64 rap opening.

By trial and error, I found out Super Mario 3D Word’s Fort Fire Bros. theme goes surprisingly well with the Donkey 64 DK Rap . . . once it has been sped up a little. I always felt like the Fort Fire Bros. beat was pretty good to go with some lyrics back when I first played 3D World around a decade ago now? (Wow!) The beginning of Fort Fire Bros. reminds me slightly of Donkey Kong Country's (Super Donkey Kong's) "Island Swing," which is played in the first level of the game. Just like “Island Swing”, Fort Fire Bros, slowly builds as more instruments join into the song and eventually reaches a strong climax where the instruments all break loose. Fort Fire Bros also has some similar rhythms to "Island Swing" making it also feel fitting to mix it with. On top of Fort Fire Bros and the rap tracks, I ended up also mixing Piranha Creeper Creek on top of it as well for some extra "jungle" groove - which may be slightly overkill! Besides the soundtrack for this animation, I had attempted to animate the more "current" generation of the DK Crew. DKC: Tropical Freeze also came out over a decade ago? (What!? Where is DK?) The other Kong in DK64 have sadly been out of the spotlight since Rare was bought in the early 2000s, likely due to them being characters they created :( Sad enough to say, I felt like it made sense to replace them with the most recent recurring characters, Dixie & Funky. Although Tiny, Lanky, and Chunky will not be forgotten! I consider the designs of the DK Crew, Kremlings, and other minor characters to be a more simple, stylized version from their gaming representations. DK in particular, I honed more in on the 1981 Donkey Kong arcade's design for some of DK's face while the rest is most similar to DKC's design. As far as the style of the animation goes, I tried to stress fluid transitions between scenes - if you watch the whole animation through (or even loop it), you will notice there are no cuts. Furthermore, I incorporated a lot of DKC’s platforming design elements in the animation - silhouettes, platforming layers, and vibrant jungle backgrounds full of life. Despite the Super Mario Bros. Movie coming out this year and having the DK Rap song in it was not directly inspired from that - as I had already been working on this prior. However it may have motivated me to complete this a little sooner, believe it or not, haha. Diddy Kong and Funky Kong also released in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Course Pack Wave 6 a week prior to this animation being completed, but all in all the DK series has been pretty quiet. Completionists/scavenger hunt seekers: Because DK64 is one of the biggest Collect-a-Thon games, if not the largest out of any game, I decided to hide a bunch of DK themed collectables / items / animals from the games. Here is a list of what you can find if you want to “101% this animation”:‣ KONG letters (in order of the animation)‣ 9 puzzle pieces + one extra puzzle-looking item from some other special Rare game‣ All of the animal buddies in “Donkey Kong Country” titled games‣ DK Coin‣ Kremkoin‣ Banana CoinGood luck hunting for them all! I would like to state clearly, for the record, that this was NOT the fault of the commissioner, but rather my own inexperience with animation and POSSIBLY a spiteful machine-spirit (Maybe even a gremlin, gnome, imp, boggart, fairy, demonic entity, or some other cryptid or paranormal entity) At first everything seemed peachy. Parts were being made. The background was ready to go. All I had to do is string them together. Easy peasy? Haha NO! I'd move a certain peg, and it would pull a cell out of place. So I'd try to put that piece back in place, and the peg would move it out again. So I'd go put it back... etcetera. For those who do not understand the terminology, imagine this: Say you have twilight's head. Now say you have to move twilight's head to the right in one frame. Now you go back to the previous frame, and the head is like an inch off the neck. Yeah, this happened over and over. If I was quiet, I could almost hear the program laughing at me. This caused me many many ragequits over the months. That's when I learned... Pegs are for *characters* not *character parts.* So I had to rip all the pegs out and reposition the parts manually. So basically I had to do it all over, and even then it was prone to popping out of place. If that sounds like fun to you, might I suggest you return to the hellraiser dimension you came forth from. Then... came the exporting. If I ever needed proof that this thing was alive and fighting me, this was it. So I had my animation all ready to go. I click export... then "video settings" and... nothing. I click "ok" and then... nothing. I did this maybe five times, even REINSTALLED THE WHOLE THING (google was ZERO help) and I could feel a headache building. Then I tried exporting as a PNG sequence... that worked. So I figured I could just get it made into a video, right? I'll just google a way to do that and... yeah, Google is about as useful as an AI Artist when their power grid goes down. Blender had video editing software, but to my horror it exported this 500 frame, 16 second, 700 x 935 video... as a 1.18 gigabyte video. Something that I could never share over discord, or even e-mail to shadowdath. All hope seemed lost, but then I found OpenShot, a free video editor. It let me make the video into something that was a paltry 27mb but with a catch: It had to be 1080p. VeryWell.jpeg. Even now at the time of posting, it feels like it tries to resist (making the description permanently buffer with "saving?" What a grand and intoxicating innocence!) I'll even bet that this whole description will surpass the character limit and I will be forced to make a journal. But if you are reading this, I have persevered and uploaded. And I'm like a hundred bux richer. Suck it! tl;dr: I've been to hell and worse with this animation. But I have conquered it. Because I am *man.* I am Machine's *god!* More trivia with this animation: -Chrysalis' appearance, and the Changeling Prod, were free of charge. I felt the animation would be better with both of them. The prod would explain how Twilight cannot leave the pod circle. -This will be the last time in one of these animations that I use separated legs, because they are just awkward. -The geiger-esque hive is how I always viewed the Changeling Home, and I still prefer it over the canon changeling caves. -I have plans to draw Twilight Sparkle in her new "bad girl" outfit. -Yes, I do intend to post the frames separate on my usual spots, if you are reading this on Newgrounds, you will find them below.
