Humans-B-Gone! #5 - Human Leader Attacks Mantis and Tarantula - Sci-Fi Insect Animation

This was a fully animated documentary about how Tarantulas became pets in America

I made this doc almost 8 years ago. To me, Pets are a very under investigated issue. As I point out in life, I have pets, had pets, and am not sure pets will be around for a long time as a hobby or lifestyle. The pet store is less than 100 years old as a business and has undergone a lot of hits to their industry in the last decades. The tarantula represents the dystopian idea of a strange misunderstood animal that is available for a fairly cheap price around the corner from most Americans. From an animation side, I used this to learn a lot about pouring plastic, building smaller armatures, and compositing using green screen. I also put a good amount of effort into these descriptions, so let me know if you read it. Enjoy Part 2.

Humans-B-Gone! #2 - A Day in the Life of a Giant Tarantula and Scorpion

This is my animation reel. Lots of things of different budgets and scope. I have a really varied reel because I generally don't go for conventional animation jobs (graphics) so I crafted this reel to show the depth of technique and style. I mostly get dismissed as a "stylized animator" which is fair if like you want to make a pharma ad so I get it. I like this current reel but I think reels are sort of wrong for people who make work like mine. A. I do stylistic work right? But I am not what film critics would call a "video artist"; which is to say my style has a context versus a video artist that purely cranks out style for style sake. A project calls for that style and it works when you watch my work, so in response I try to make reels that are themselves a cool short piece of weirdness. The majority of my work is short form so it is usually easier (and more lucrative business wise, as in I get hired more) to send someone 2 or 3 short films that fit to the pitch or job. It's also difficult with things like my feature length Tarantula documentary where I spend and hour building an animation style so it justifies itself. Is someone gonna watch the full doc and get it? Not always because that's what any audience member is gonna experience. They may like it, they may not. I write all this because I am a unique case. If you are an animator or an aspiring one most people would advise against a reel like this but it's cool. The music is license by my music library licensor Storyblocks and you definitely can't use it for your own stuff but I am licensed to post and use it. Arachnotorious - Episode 2

A first look at Dr. Arthur Podd, Tarantula Whisperer

Short Version: I'm back from a 10 year hiatus and draw my cartoons now instead of using sprites. There's many more to come, although they will be quick 'n dirty because I have a family and a job these days. Long Version: Hi everyone, I'm back to Newgrounds! Many aeons ago I used to make sprite movies - in fact, they're still in my profile here. Then I went away for literally a decade. Went to college, got a day job somewhere, got married... but this is the internet, nobody cares about that brouhaha. So this is a quick short I made in a couple of weeks just now - while still working said day job, I'm trying my best to produce new content for here and for my YouTube channel - so I can be the internet animator I've always wanted to be. I'm still the same 'ol me as before, except you're going to see both parodies -and- original content from me now. But I can assure you, the sense of humor that somehow kept you all entertained despite my films' crappy visuals back then is still intact. This here, is something original. I have plans for more short gags involving this unlucky fellow - I hope everyone likes it! You can also see it on YouTube and subscribe to me there if you truly enjoy it - I would appreciate it! If I even have any 'fans' left from the 2001 era, you're all grown up now like I am! How is your life now compared to then? Tell me in the comments :) -DragoonFenix15 / Bill Cass P.S. Sorry for not including a play/replay screen. My future submissions will definitely include them.
