I turned my "Starting Soon" into a video game attract screen.

When you're firing up a Twitch stream it's a good idea to give the internet 10 or even 15 minutes to send out push notifications, do API handshakes, get a little coffee at the deli down the street, and whatever else the tiny gnomes inside the tubes have to do to get everything going. I decided to flesh out that period with some animation. The original clip of riding the elevator was originally inspired by playing a lot of Metal Gear Solid. It's all Aseprite work, and consists of a couple of very slowly moving sprites above and below my little vtuber mascot moving in parallax. I could probably stand to open it back up and flesh out the city/ mirror the statue of liberty which was originally drawn from memory. Still, I think it has a charm through the flaws. Giving the Statue of Liberty a giant gun and turning it into an apparent villain was a really funny bit back when I started using it as an aesthetic, but now I feel like it's hitting hard. Still good, but different reasons. I used Aseprite, Blender, and Spritemancer to pull it together. Aseprite was the heaving bulk of the work. Organizing the animation chunks and even pulling together the final animation. Spritemancer was used to generate the smoke effects in the gunshot segment, and I fully modeled that gun before rotoscoping it in Aseprite to maintain an aesthetic. I even went to the trouble of making the barrel automatically camber up just a little bit when the slide goes back. The turnarounds and final sequence with the Statue of Liberty are using freely available 3D models that were also rendered in blender and palletized in Aseprite. I feel like I stuck close to the ethos of making something like this for a DOS game without being shackled to technical limitations that only the turbo-est of nerds would ever appreciate. The soundtrack is a modified version of the intro track to "Eye of the Commando" titled "Prelude to Freedom". It was provided directly from the musician and I'm using it with full permission. Eye of the Commando is, unrelatedly, an absolute banger of a game that you're missing out on if you haven't seen yet. https://belthesar.bandcamp.com/album/eye-of-the-commando-original-soundtrackhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/3016480/Eye_of_the_Commando/http://twitch.tv/wobblypython

TIMCO employs various teams of people who perform very specific functions within the facility Green = Engineer
White = Medical Specialist
Blue = Mineship Operator/Underground Utility
Black = Security Personnel
Yellow = Traffic Control Officer
Purple = Data management the facility just for workers; many non-employees, often in the form of travelers, dwell within as well. One popular establishment beneath the TIMCO surface building is the waypoint; a popular automated lounge/tavern in which people can quickly and easily order nourishment compounds of their choices regardless of race as well as other interests such as (entertainment image projections), gaming and even review full-detail GMVT (galactic marketplace value tracker) reports. The place may be but advanced applications of artificial intelligence allow for projected waiters to interact and inquire about what the client wants in real time at any table in a charismatic, friendly matter which can even be customized for future visits. Note that some of the more prestigious waypoint locations feature live waiters/servers/barkeeps, so those wanting top level service will likely look for the marking, which indicates a non-automatic waypoint establishment. Near any waypoint (sometimes nicknamed is typically a hotel-style setup, in which weary or refueling travelers can have a home away from home with all the most modern accommodations, such as multi-gravity rooms, cylindrical rest chambers for Lugarians, and high-precision temperature controls to accommodate anyone anytime. The Waypoint historically was the first fully automated restaurant to ever become successful in the mainstream, and its not a coincidence that the owner of the franchise sought to place their establishment of quality service in facility as the safe haven of choice for the entire planet of Tor. This video is supposed to show the futility of our jobs and careers.

Line Up

*Daily feature wow! Thanks everyone who gave positive review for my movie, especially those who appreciated its message. * Only had 3 days to finish this for my English class. Here's the synopsis with information on the literature references made in the movie: My movie is based on my interpretation of the Modernism tenet of "Loss of Community." The setting is an imaginary world of, literally, living colors. Each Color has the power to conjure any object they desire, but they can only create things that will have their single tint.
The story starts off with an introduction to this world, and then opens up to the main character, Max Red. The color red itself is supposed to be an allusion to the very humane communist party of Native Son, while the name Max is taken directly from the lawyer who defends Bigger in the book. Max is an artist, and decides to paint on a canvas. However, realizing that he is restricted to only using red, he decides it would be a good idea if all the colors came together and created a multi-color work of art. This integration of colors is parallel to the integration of race that was so ardently fought for by Max in Native Son.
Things turn out bad for Max when he tries to recruit other colors to collaborate with him on a new masterpiece. Orange completely shuts Max out, and green (which equals greed or money) converts Max's flyers into paper money, and then robs it all. Yellow simply confuses Max by turning into a cloud and disappearing, referencing the yellow cloud of Prufrock's Love Song. The Cloud in both the poem and my movie are confusing.
Hopes go up when Bob Blue agrees to help Max with his art, but Bob is just a mischievous character who later decides to draw a moustache on Max's portrait. Peter Purple isn't any better. Being the recluse he is, Peter quickly erects a large wall when he sees Max coming near him. The wall reads on the other side: "Good fences make good neighbors", an ironic statement pulled directly from Robert Frost's Mending Wall.
Mr. Blackanan becomes Max's last hope. Blackanan is an allusion to The Great Gatsby's Tom Buchanan, possessing the same sinister personality. Blackanan is immediately impatient and unwilling to work with Max and uses his dark powers to violently get him away. Blackanan also causes Max to lose his cool, and get himself destroyed, just as Tom Buchanan lead the way to Gatby's demise.
Max explodes out of frustration after his efforts were exerted in vain, and all the colors gather to see the site. Blue exclaims, after seeing some of Max's red color splatter on the wall: "He is a hot jet of life that spattered itself in futility against a cold wall." This is a quote from Native Son, describing Max perfectly: He exuberantly tried to do something revolutionary in his life, but ended up fruitless and "spattered" (literally).
The movie ends with all the colors getting into an argument, showing no progress in their community at all since the beginning of the movie.
The Colors were all uncooperative, awkward, and just plain mean. They definitely did not represent a correctly functioning community, which would have had a stronger sense of solidarity and camaraderie between the members. These colors did, however, represent the loss of community in their world.
