The Prank of a Whimzy Witch

Deep in a Canadian child's backyard lies a forest of whimsy. Though more often than not, it's a forest of Winnie. Introducing a new take on the classic bear! "Winnie-the-Pooh in Canada" builds a new status quo out of the classic book characters with its own national charm. Here the source material mirrors not English-born Christopher Robin Milne, but rather Winnipeg, the bear from White River, Ontario who became Winnie-the-Pooh's namesake. If anyone here's sick of horror movies and AI slop, this is the public domain reboot to look out for! Winnie-the-Pooh and the Story Anew

Unaware of the trap awaiting them..... The would be rescuers become the victim....

"As the town lies in ashes, new adventurers arrive to lend aid, unaware of the trap awaiting them..... The would be rescuers become the victim.... The heroines’ final stand in the town was their last, and now they languish in a crumbling keep overrun by goblins. Stripped of armor, their bodies are bared to the flickering light. Once proud warriors, the elven and human women are chained in shadowed cave, reduced to mere breeding sows, to serving the whims of their new master, eager to sire a new generation of Goblins. The women’s days blur into a haze of servitude and shame, their bodies heavy with the weight of constant pregnancy. Even in the final weeks, the goblins show no mercy, dragging them to the feasting hall for cruel sport. Whispers of rebellion flicker among the captives.... But unfortunately for them, hope is a fleeting spark in this stinky goblin hole..." A collywockly of whimsy!

Rick's tendency to say the wrong thing at the wrong time ends up alienating his classmates! Rated M for strong language, lots of cartoon violence, innuendo, and crude humor. ~~~~~~~~~My first non-class animation project is finally complete! I originally wrote this one back in December but put on hold throughout my spring semester to lead production on Hellhounds. I resumed in June, where it underwent a rewrite to include more jokes. With that said, this'll likely be my only cartoon longer than 5 minutes for a while, future ones to be closer to 2-4 minutes because I want to have a more consistent upload schedule. AND NOW... I chose to whistle it as a way to capture the offbeat nature and whimsy. A steamboat captain finds himself shipwrecked on a mysterious island.

Kickstarter link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pollywogfilms/steamboat-willing DISCLAIMER: THIS FILM IS NOT ENDORSED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY OR ANY OF ITS SUBSIDIARIES OR AFFILIATES. "STEAMBOAT WILLING" IS A DERIVATIVE WORK OF THE 1928 ANIMATED SHORT FILM "STEAMBOAT WILLIE", WHICH AS OF JANUARY 1, 2024 IS PUBLIC DOMAIN. THIS PRODUCTION DOES NOT INFRINGE ON ANY CURRENTLY HELD COPYRIGHTS OR TRADEMARKS. Steamboat Willing is an idea I've had for a couple years now. I'd always thought about possibly making a movie featuring "the mouse" hoping the day would finally come when he'd become public domain, and it finally seemed like it would happen since things started entering the public domain again in 2019. I didn't really know what I could do for a feature-length adaptation of Steamboat Willie, until I was bored one day working in a factory in August 2021, and the idea came to me: Mickey gets shipwrecked on a colorful island full of wonder and whimsy, but soon finds it holds a dark secret. A pretty basic idea for a story about a steamboat captain, but, fittingly, it's an idea that has lots of room for expansion. From 2021 to even this year, I've had more and more ideas for the film, and in April 2023 I finally managed to tie all my loose ideas together into a plot that made sense and put together the first draft of the script, further refining it and recording scratch audio and eventually starting the storyboarding process. I now have the first 12 minutes storyboarded, as well as this one minute sequence fully animated, although most of this will likely not end up in the final film. The scene will still be there, but there's a bit more to it than what's here. A lot of this was rushed, so with proper time and resources it can look a lot better. Also this teaser was supposed to come out February 1st, I genuinely thought I could do it, but before picking it up again last month, I hadn't touched it since January. I don't remember what happened, there's just been a lot of bad mental roadblocks, but it's finished now and the kickstarter is up and I'm so anxious but so excited for people to finally see what I've been working on, even if it's only little snippets like this so far. I hope the kickstarter is successful, because it's my only option now to get this done in a timely manner. My freelance gig of the last year is wrapping up, so now I'm on the hunt for jobs again, and I might have to go back to factory work, although at this point I'll be surprised if I can even manage to get a job, no one's responding. Though that's probably for the best right now since if I got a job before the kickstarter finishes up, and it is a success, then I have to go through the awkward process of quitting so soon after starting so I can focus on the movie lmao Oh well, we'll see what happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a daily issue. We are prisoners in our own home, passed down to us by our great-great grandparents. His temper, his destructive capabilities, have utterly trapped us as pawns to his wrathful whims. The dread that fills the air as his rapid footsteps can be heard from anywhere in the house is comparable to watching the first plane hit the towers while inside, knowing that no matter what, and no fault of your own, you cannot escape.

[D&D Story] The Peace Guild: Episode 2 - Welcome to the Demiplane of Dread

A REDUX of my original loop video of a repurposed Puppet Animation Motion Graphics piece from a film I worked on "The Holy Maple Tree" for a fake TV Show "Heaven & Hell TV" circa 2017. https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/707929 https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/blackunigryphon/angeliv-being-of-light-still-frame
* Adobe After Effects CC 2017-2019 * Trapcode Particular
* Video Copilot "Light Saber" The Angelic Being of Light is drawn by hand with pencil and colored in Photoshop.

Angelic Being of Light REDUX

* Documentary/Experimental Animation Video.
* Not a Narrative video (yet).
* The story is in the original film which this will be a part of when it's redone. * The Story is HERE:
As you know, I'm redoing 1 of my 2016 films "Smattering Thoughts Also Flow".
https://youtu.be/nxd4fVtJ8EU So, I'm FINALLY going to produce the #Inktober #Butterflies I really wanted. But, I also made 2 Dragon Anrtho Fairy Puppets. This one is just the dragon, and the other is a Qilin (Kirin). I used Motion/Camera Tracking in After Effects and it actually worked this time. Particles are done using Trapcode in Adobe After Effects.
The tedious tail animation is done using the "puppet pin tool" which took over 2 weeks of frustration, and redo's. The Dragon Fae/Fairy is completely made by hand with markers in my sketchbook. I documented it more thoroughly in an ArtStation Portfolio:
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/rRWAvJ #Inktober #Faebruary

Making of Dragon Fae Puppet Animation

Cycle Animation of Inktober Butterfly in After Effects CC

This took a lot of effort and work despite how simplistic it is.
It was very frustrating. I made it as part of my film which I'm re-doing. The original artwork was done by hand in my sketchbook for #Inktober with old vintage markers. I made the puppet in Adobe Photoshop CC. Animation was done in Adobe After Effects CC.
I used the puppet pin tool, and the 3D effects.

2016 Animated Inktober Butterflies WIP Film Footage

2016 Animated Inktober Butterflies WIP Film Footage These were the experimental bits I made with my own video footage of my lanterns. Some video clips were in Fall 2016, and some clips were shot in Summer/Fall 2017. You can tell if you look for the antique teapot BEFORE I made it int a lantern, and AFTER I made it into a lantern. The Cutesy Cartoonish Anthro Butterfly was made by my daughter, who doesn't want to be named here. Yucky Mommy Kooties! XD It was intended to be a part of my 2016 Film Final at UMASS Boston, but since no one knew how to help me animate 3D puppets in Adobe After Effects CC 2016, or if they did, they had petty reasons for not helping me like my being an Independent 3rd Party Voter and refused to vote for the status quo. Also, the tutorials available online were all outdated and were from old versions of Adobe After Effects. I finally finished my last Semester at UMASS Boston in December 2017, resolving to stick with my independent goals as an artist, animator, and filmmaker. I've done nearly ALL of my small goals, AT THIS POINT, and am wrapping up those small bits.

The FINAL END GAME Experimental Animated FILM of the Jackalope

* OMFG! THIS final edit took SO LONG to actually do, and was meticulous, and time consuming. I HOPE YOU APPRECIATE THAT.
_______________________________ * NOTE:
THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL FILM, AND NOT A NARRATIVE FILM i.e. NOT A STORY-TELLING PIECE, KIDDIES. * I know a lot of u kids didn't study film, or art, in university academia [as I did], don't know the origins of film, or DW Griffith, and have been conditioned n primed to only accept Narrative Bias in films and videos.
Also, (NOT TRYING TO BE CONDESCENDING SO MUCH AS UNDERSTANDING -because I'm a MOM) I know many of you are REALLY REALLY YOUNG on this site (and also pretending, and playing grown-up, and NO I'm NOT going to REPORT anybody, but I AM AWARE, so I'm NOT gonna bite off children's heads on the net), and never learned things like Subjectivity VS Objectivity including East VS. West in both film & comics and tend to only be familiar with Western Based goal-driven action-to-action formatted cinema/video SPECIFICALLY for Narrative driven motion picture works. * This is BOTH Experimental, AND a Music Video.
* The Goal of this film (and the series Jackalope of films) was to practice using Adobe After Effects CC: Particles, Tweening, Puppet Animation, Incorporating Traditional frame-by-frame animation (the jackalope ears & eye are traditionally animated in Adobe Photoshop & Krita then composited in After Effects), nesting, VFX, Color consistency within an environment.
* Another MAJOR point of focus was SUBJECTIVITY and not OBJECTIVITY or goal driven action-to-action plot driven. This means to focus MORE of EXPLORING things like MOOD, evoking a feeling within the viewer.
* The piece itself is NOT narrative driven, but the process of CREATING this work is FULL OF STORIES, and GOALS, but YOU only see this video. LONG hours of effort went into creating this work, including delays & pesky set-backs.
* The original Concept Work for this was created in Jan-Feb 2017 and took from Feb-May 2017 to complete on a limited time frame of when I was able to work on it. But, the reworking aspects of this film started in October of 2018, and I'd only just finished this final edit in Mid December 2018 with MORE hours per day to work on it.
_________________________ The MAIN original goal of these works was TO LEARN THE SOFTWARE and VFX as well as do this thing called PRACTICING so as to accomplish this other thing called IMPROVING SKILLS. Mind-blowing, I know... Computers DON'T DO EVERYTHING. ________________________ The original concept was actually 4 Seasons but was whittled down to 1, which was Spring.
But, the only way to get 4 seasons, is to MAKE EACH SEASON, which takes time and thing thing called effort.
Weird, huh? I know... * The Original Experimental Films IN ORDER: * Original Spring Sakura/Cherry Blossoms version AND in Parallax:

4 Seasons Jackalope Whimsy

Winter Version of Whimsical Jackalope Pauppet Animation

NOTE:
*This is NOT a Narrative short film, and is a part of an experimental film series of exploration of arts & media. (i.e. NO STORY TELLING) * This is an Experimental Film, and focuses on MOOD, TONE, and feel, as well as an experimental project to focus on learning software (Adobe After Effects) specifically using Particles effects animation, and "Tweening" style motion graphics applied to animation. * The Original film was a Sakura Spring version, which was NOT animated as a FLAT SCREEN scene, but animated in Parallax for the Boston Convention Center for Spring 2017:

Jackalope Winter Whimsy

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to go ASMR/Ambient or up-tempo techno/electronic. Since I had a number of strange glitches with renders, and not much help at all, plus life gave me lemons, I proverbially made lemonade... only, this is autumn, so it's more like making cider... sort of... The ending I wanted to feel more like an old video game, and analog glitch. NOTES & Credits: * I repainted the entire scenery, the tree foliage, and the hill.
* The leaves are actually made from real New England male leaves which I hand picked, manually scanned, and applied to particles myself. There are 3 versions of the particles, and I'm not actually an expert in 3D particles. Plus, nobody wants to help me, or they don't know After Effects, or they know After Effects but don't know particles. Anyways, this track was from the GW Bush Era from Jamendo, the creative commons license.
It's from Psydom Records' "Horizon [Chill Out]" by "Synthetic Sinergy" whom made generic house techno, which are now defunct and abandoned media.
It's a an old school "chill-out" techno track titled "Synthetic Sinergy - Horizon (Chill Out)".

Jackalope Autumn Whimsy Chill Out

In today's cynical world, it's not easy to take the barefaced whimsy of a so-called 'magical ostrich' at face value. This video outlines the basics of exactly what makes Magic Ostrich so gosh-darned magical. If you like this, have a gander at the next 'lesson', Anatomy of an Ostrich. http://www.newgrounds.com /portal/view/597555

Magic Ostrich: Part 1

The FIRST of two brand spankin' new toons about Skyrim that I have coming out. Here are the lyrics... What happened to you gamers?
It seems somewhere along the way
You turned from doing good
And so now evil's holding sway Rhythm games and fitness games
And even cooking sims!
What else are we to do?
Fight the fight in old Skyrim! Beyond the frozen tundra
Lies the homeland of the Nords
Where radiant stories bloom
and you can dual wield magic and swords Use perks just like in Fallout
Defend the family that you've reared
Kill dragons just by shouting
You can even have a beard The game of life's a drag
It's filled with homework, filled with books
My job is lame and girls make fun
Of my less than stellar looks Damn it boy why do you heed
To such shallow, mortal whims?
There's a battle that needs your steel my son
In the land of old Skyrim! Sorry about the big file size, I deliberately did it to aggravate all of you.

Song Of Skyrim

A terrifying tale of a future where our government actually CAN get even worse.

BE PREPARED FOR A LOT OF READING. Well, this is the culmination of about a month of on-again-off-again work for my final for my 2D animation class. The idea stemmed from my dislike for the copypasta that is Bush jokes, and the fact that if someone took every crappy cartoon or image yanked from (and by) ebaumsworld and proceeded to convert every single one into a grilled cheese sandwich, that guy could solve at least THREE world hungers. Seriously, he's like the Britney Spears of politics. Except he stopped being funny 3 years ago when he discovered there's more than one internet. And he wasn't declared a worse parent than Kevin Federline. Anyway, I thought to myself, "Hey, Bush may have taken about two centuries of progress and utterly destroyed it, but we could still have worse leaders. We could have had an orangutan, a balloon animal, a man whose only skill or talent is making terrible balloon animals, a Halo fanboy, Hulk Hogan, a cyborg that could easily be mistaken for the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler armed with a ridiculous amounts of weaponry and an explosive device with a 15-megaton payload, anyone involved with SpikeTV..." And then it hit me. And then I made a fanciful tale of whimsy about a struggling balloon animal artist becoming the President of the United States, filled nonstop laughs for the family that has absolutely no taste in anything. Something went wrong, however, because this happened.

Heil To The Chief

This was my graduation film in 2004. My style has developed quite a bit since then. There are a couple of parodies of the British TV channels, BBC2 and Channel 4. The voice on the Channel 4 parody is a direct reference to an announcer who has a 'Geordie' accent (that's someone from around Newcastle), who narrates Big Brother, amongst other things. I thought I ought to clear that up for all the non UK residents, because it could be a bit baffling.
If you want violence, or lots of sick and twisted stuff, this isn't the film for you. If you feel like watching something thoughtful and being told a story, check it out.
Here's a short synopsis of each bit:
BBC Poo: A parody of the British TV channel BBC TWO’s ident. Introduces the next animation, ‘Poo Party’. Poo Party: A story inspired by my childhood imagination. Dangermouse Pyjamas: An animation about nostalgia. The Nose Hobby: A story about my fascination, as a child, with shoving things up my nose. Trees: An animation, using treated DV footage, about failing to seize the day. A Bird I Saw: A short animation, using the ‘rotoscoping’ technique. Channel 4: A parody of the British TV Channel, Channel 4’s ident. Introduces ‘Jonny 5’. Jonny 5: Another animation based around nostalgia, which addresses the sensitivity of youth. Blue Door: An animation which explores the darker side of childhood whimsy. Straw Friend: An animation about anthropomorphising inanimate objects. Spamchester: Treated DV footage, using the sound of rain to convey my feelings about Manchester (which is where I went to University).
