Description

Apollo is the Greek God of Light, the Sun, Healing, Poetry, Music, Art, Truth, Disease, Archery, and Prophecy.
Apollo is the son of Leto, Minor Goddess of Motherhood. He is also the younger fraternal twin brother of Artemis. Legend goes that Zeus impregnated Leto and Hera, as is her nature, was none too pleased by this development. In order to exact her revenge on Leto, Hera as the Goddess of Family, Womanhood, and Childbirth, decreed that Leto could not give birth to her children on any island in the world. Eventually, Leto was able to persuade the Island of Delos to emerge from the sea as a new land mass and was able to give birth on the island since it technically did not exist before the decree. First she gave birth to Artemis and then 3 days later Artemis helped deliver Apollo.
The twin gods embodied the chaos of the wilderness and the order of civilization. Apollo was extremely popular both in myths and in the culture of ancient Greece.
Apollo drive the chariot of Helios which either pulls or is the sun in the sky and the light of the world. He is the master of his half-sisters/cousins the 9 Muses who inspire creativity and artistic endeavors within the hearts of mortals and gods alike. He slayed the deadly giant poisonous snake Python, freeing the people of Delphi and gained control over the Oracle of Delphi and by extension knowledge of the Future. He and his sister are credited for the invention of Archery. His arrows coated with the great and terrible poisons and antidotes could control who would get sick and die and who would survive.
Apollo takes much of his personality after his father Zeus, he is very promiscuous with both females and males and is known to not always take no for an answer. He is also known to be violent and petty, most notably with his family's centuries long feud with the House of Atreus.
