Description
Aqualish (/ˈækwəˈlɪʃ/ or /ˈɑːkwəˈlɪʃ/) — a pinniped humanoid alien species from the Star Wars franchise.
The Aqualish are an amphibious species bipedal from the planet Ando, an oceanic planet in the Mid Rim's Lambda sector. They have an appearance comparable to a walrus and a spider, possessing bald heads with fur around their cheeks; large palp-like tusks; and large, solid-colored eyes. Further details such as skin (black; grey; green; or brown) and hair (black; blonde; or brown) vary between Aqualish; and in the case of subspecies, either two or four eyes and the dexterity of their hands.
Aqualish have three subspecies:
- Aquala — the baseline Aqualish, comprising the majority of the species' population, with fingerless cup-like fins in place of hands.
- Quara — an uncommon Aqualish, evolved for more terrestrial activity and possessing hairy hands with five fingers on each.
- Ualaq — the least common Aqualish, notable for possessing four eyes and either three or five fingers per hand.
The blood of an Aqualish is dark red in color and does not cauterize (for example: in the event an Aqualish's arm was dismembered by a lightsaber, they'd still bleed).
