Gungans are a fictional amphibious species in the Star Wars franchise, who are native to the planet Naboo. Various races of Gungans live both on water and land, but most live in underwater cities. They are tall humanoids with a flexible structure, strong muscular legs, long beaks, extendable tongues, and other traits made suitable for Naboo's natural enviroment. They also have a distinct accent when speaking in Galactic Basic Standard (the franchise's equivalent to English).

Jar Jar Binks, a central character in the Star Wars prequel films, is a popular (or rather, infamous) example of this species.
