Description

The mule is an equine hybrid animal, the cross between a donkey and a horse. Technically, a mule is specifically the offspring of a male donkey and female horse, but the name is often applied to all donkey/horse hybrids. The offspring of a female donkey and male horse is known as a hinny, and is much rarer due to differences in size.
