Description
Sally Acorn is a character who originates from the Sonic the Hedgehog animated television series (referred to by fans as SatAM), and later in the Sonic the Hedgehog comics by Archie as one of its main characters.
She is the princess of the planet Mobius, in addition to being the strategist and leader of the Knothole Freedom Fighters (though she refers to Sonic as their leader), as well as Sonic's love interest. She is extremely intelligent and uses her skills to hack into Robotnik's computers to find important targets in Robotropolis. Despite being very cautious, she can be as bullheaded as Sonic, and is surprisingly spontaneous when there is no danger. She utterly refuses to believe that her father is dead, and is constantly searching for him, though she discovers that he is still alive in the episode "The Void".
In the cartoon, her species is never mentioned, although the scripts cites her as a squirrel. The comic series states plainly that she is a squirrel-chipmunk hybrid.
Like the rest of the SatAM Freedom Fighters, her original design was made by Japanese character artist Ken Kinoshita, credited as such in the ending title cards.
