Description
On April 1, 2005, Neopets joked for their yearly April Fools Day prank that they were adding 50 new species of neopet to the site. Though they weren't actually added, some designs proved popular enough among players to be ascended in some capacity. Most notably, one decided by poll — the Llamameeah — got a slight makeover and was ultimately added as the Gnorbu. Another, the Varwolf, was added as-is in 2025 as part of the site's 25th anniversary celebration. Others became petpets, and still others have been made available on fanmade clone sites. All fifty can be viewed here.
