Art of AWE
The scenes or motives comprise mythical beasts and anthropomorphic beings (inspired from pagan art of different cultures and times),
often engaged in some sexual / mating action, sometimes in an interspecies combination. The animals are mostly depicted large
and muscular, incorporating features of large carnivores as well as
heavy herbivores. There is an obvious link to specific mythical beasts,
such as dragons (of western / european and Levantine style), griffins
or gryphons, large birds (Garuda-like) and basilisks. Some motives show symbolist reminiscences.
