Description
Baxxid are a fictional species in the fantasy comic Out-of-Placers. They are large snake-like creatures with bony carapaces, scythe-like forelimbs, and large horns and bony head-crests. They also have many eyes. Their lack of hands is inconvenient in human society, so they often employ humans to perform tasks that require dexterity. Some will also wear human clothing and wigs in an attempt to fit in, as in the example image.
Baxxid were once a predator species, but are now a race of gentle giants with a strict cultural prohibition against violence. They are extremely intelligent, especially in mathematics, and as such perform administrative and accounting duties in Val Salia. They communicate in vibrations too low for the human ear to hear; they can also speak human languages, but must make a grinding "windup" noise to adjust their vocal apparatus first.
