Description
To put it simply, Body Control is a term used to describe a scenario where a character's physical actions are dictated by an external force while they remain fully awake and aware of what is happening.
It refers to a form of partial possession where an external force takes over control of the target's body while excluding the host's mind. This forces the host to consciously experience everything the bodyjacker does to their physical form, often allowing them to commentate (either mentally or verbally) on their current predicament as another entity drives their body against their will.
This tag does not include instances where the controlled character has been hypnotized, or if their perception has been altered to cause their actions.
Methods of body control
- conjoined - Two characters share control of a single body.
- machine - A mechanical harness, cybernetic implant, or similar device forcibly moves the limbs.
- magic - Curses and magical spells compel the character's body to act against their will.
- merging - Similar to conjoined, but the entities are more physically integrated.
- mind control - Motor functions are explicitly taken over while leaving the conscious mind intact.
- possession - A supernatural force, such as a ghost, takes control of the physical body.
- puppet strings - A puppeteer manipulates physical or energy strings tied to the character's limbs.
- telekinesis - A character uses psychic powers to puppeteer another character's movements.
- voodoo - A character uses a proxy, such as a voodoo doll, to manipulate a target's physical movements.
