Description

From side_by_side_stereogram: A side-by-side stereogram is where the image is rendered from the perspective of two "cameras", and both perspectives are juxtaposed horizontally.
A cross-eye stereogram is a side-by-side stereogram where the halves of the image are arranged such that the viewer perceives the 3D effect when they cross their eyes, such that the right eye is looking at the left half and the left eye is looking at the right.
The previous edit also mentioned something about eyefuck.
For images where the viewer is meant to look at the image with their eyes parallel, see wall_eye_stereogram.
