- An artist makes a expression sheet for others to work with. Something like this:
- The artist who made this meme posts it on their blog or social media feed.
- Other artists who are interested in drawing for this meme share or reblog the meme on their blog or feed, asking for suggestions from their followers.
- A follower suggests to said artist what character they should draw doing what facial expression. For example, a follower asks for Judy Hopps doing the expression in row D, column 2.
- If the asking artist decides to take on the suggestion, then they will do so, trying to replicate the suggested expression with the character.
- When they're done, they post the art they made on their blog or feed for all to enjoy, with the original suggestion they received attached to the post.
