Description
A gas mask is a device worn over the mouth and nose (or muzzle, depending on the character) that consists of one or more cylindrical filters and a one-way valve, designed to protect against toxic gasses and particulates. A set of goggles and/or a hood may be included; and more advanced systems connect to a tank of compressed air. However, the devices have found their way into BDSM play, due to the fact that the face is concealed behind heavy equipment, making the wearer seem intimidating and machine-like, and many a film has shown the villains soldiers wearing the devices, leading to connotations of oppression.
